Come join Alexa and myself as we sweep down the wondrous domains of the Tisza tó. I've come to realize that there are two types in this world, Balaton folk and Tisza folk. Right now I have to say I am a Tisza guy, but I am willing to be won back by Balaton, particularly since I have yet to venture to the North Shore of the Balaton which sounds to be a vineyard laden paradise. But for now, back to the Tisza.

This episode is a bit lighter on the history side, though we do cover that in various parts of the episode. In its place we have an adventurous canoe ride down the most Hungarian river there is. Plenty of White Wine and cultural discovery, between encounters of magnificient Magyar wildlife on a river that's supposedly a lake, but also definitely is a river that has a lake-like portion. In my humble opinion at least.

I also briefly preview the next history episode of WWW which will be about the rise of the illustrious Hunyadi family.

Szia Willie!! Hungarian-American here. Just came across your channel-- absolutely love your energy. I like how you say Hungarian words in the middle of your English sentences. I think that's a spectacular way to practice such a rich language. And most importantly, the intro music immediately caught my attention and threw me into my childhood: none other than kockás fülű nyuszi of course! What a legendary reference! Did you grow up in America but with a Hungarian parent like I did?

I don’t know how to say this but as a native Hungarian I, as most of my fellow Hungarians too, developed an uncouscious sense that recognize a fellow Hungarian face from tiny illusive details that cannot be really explained. And this sense is right most of the times. Your face is strangely one of them - you give the first glimps impression of a Hungarian. Weird :)

Hey, I'm just watching your interview with Fókusz - expect some popularity boost now. I meant to ask whether you like „István a király”, but you just said on TV that you like it. :D Man, I'm totally hyped on it since 20 August was 2 weeks ago. I first listened to it on vinyl record when I was a little child. Have you ever seen a video of a live performance? There are multiple records on UA-cam. I think the best I've seen so far is Népstadion 1990. Hope to see it live someday. And what about you, have you ever seen it live? I checked, there are some performances scheduled for November.
Wow You're great! I'm in shame but I've never been at the Tisza tó. You should come to the Mecsek hills/mountain, You'd love our amazingly green area, caves and lakes of Orfű, and of course there is a great historical hero of Szigetvár, Zrínyi Miklós... I'd love a video about my home :)

Hey Willie just saw the interview with you on Petofi TV-I think what you’re doing is amazing. I live near Szombathely, in a small village which is inhabited by Croatian minority since the 16th century, they still speak Croatian, quite interesting story (it is a wine region too! :)). Szombathely itself has a long history too, founded by the Romans, it is the oldest city of Hungary. And there is Kőszeg nearby, where an unsuccessful Turkish siege took place (we won against overwhelming forces). So, the region is quite good video material.

Its German name is “Steinamanger”, “Stone on the (desolate) plain”, because it was ruined by an earthquake centuries ago.

Tisza was the only real hungarian river.start and finished in hungary.i have a motor boat there and i love it.its nice for swiming.warm enough.im from city Becej in serbian part of tisza.wisit us once

I like you man , but you butcher the Hungarian language so hard with how you say the "gy" sound - why can't you teach yourself to use "d" or "th" ? That's how it's pronounced - ask your lovely friend there to help you
