Yeah if you watch Sabans metal hero based shows VR Troopers and Big Bad Beatle Borgs you will notice he puts effort into making those shows work and not masked rider.
Saban screwed up badly with that one, it's on par with Sabans ninja turtles the next mutation.

1. It was made to primarily capitalize on Power Rangers' success; Power Rangers was a runaway success and made Saban a lot of money, especially since it was cheap to produce. They had some additional success with their other Tokusatsu, VR Troopers, and other shows being made like it were doing pretty well too, so they decided to continue the Tokusatsu adaptations with Kamen Rider
2. It was a spin-off to Power Rangers and Season 3 MMPR introduced the character as an alien from the same planet as the Rangers' mentor and he was trying to defend the planet from his evil uncle. For whatever reason, the show abandoned all of that and the character moved to Earth... but they kept the alien thing, so that's why he's an alien
3. Ferbus existed to make the show more marketable, to have that goofy (and marketable) side-kick like Alpha 5; no, it was not cute, but rather annoying and NO ONE liked him. While he is the focus of several episodes in the series, he doesn't really serve any real big purpose in the overall narrative; nothing really happens with him.
4. That scene with the Showa Riders was certainly awful! Not only were the names wrong (they removed Nigo and Riderman because Nigo looked too similar to Ichigo and Riderman had his face exposed, and they forgot to adjust the names when filming), but they just came out of nowhere! There was no real build-up to them in the show, or even a single mention of them prior to that episode; they just appear and... that's it!
No one likes Masked Rider and it was an absolute disaster; it's sloppy, it's poorly written, the characters are bad, the fights are often boring and confusing, the tone is all over the place, it poorly adapts other Kamen Riders, and the story goes nowhere. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight was a far superior adaptation of Kamen Rider, showing actual respect and interest in Kamen Rider! I actually heard that part of the reason Dragon Knight retained the "Kamen Rider" name because they didn't want to associate with this travesty... which is interesting.
On a side note, the reason the hero looks so much like Kotaro was because the show was made so long after Black RX that none of the props were left; aside from recreating the most important suits + some new suits, Saban decided to save costs by making the hero look like Kotaro and use shots of human Kotaro from the back or a distance, making it seem like the hero is fighting the monsters... yeah

What's interesting is Japan only started using "Kamen Rider" starting from W IIRC, all previous rider is titled "Masked Rider *insert title here*"

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is a much better adaptation. I believe that it got a Japanese dub too!
Yes! We have a way to watch Dragon Knight in Japan! Some original Ryuki actors were doing voice acting in Dragon Knight dub ver!

Actually, they're not (technically) illegal anymore, Dragon Knight currently does not have any Rights-holder within the US, and Main Actor Stephen Ford has formally endorsed the torrenting of the series as long as its sharing remains within the Public Domain.
The best part is that Shotaro Ishimori hated this adaptation. I feel like Saban just rushed up Masked Rider. I feel really bad because I wish there would be more recognition towards series like Dragon Knight.

The best thing that can be said about this show is that it opened the door for Americans like myself to become fans of Kamen Rider. Because this was the first attempted adaptation, I naturally think Kamen Rider Black RX is awesome, especially the music.

I still think that a good adaptation of Kamen Rider could become popular in the US if it was given proper marketing. The reason Dragon Knight wasnt popular when it first came out was because a lack of marketing. If I remember correctly, the network it aired on stopped showing episodes on TV and just released them online because it wasnt doing well, even though the show was very high quality. If it had actual marketing put behind it, then there could have been a possibility of seeing an adaptation of other rider series. Most likely Kabuto, because that was actually the original season planned to be used.
This makes me grateful that Saban's Masked Rider wasn't my starter Kamen Rider show. Mine was Black that was very trending on my local channel and it was also locally dubbed. I loved it! Especially when Black had two Rider Machines: Battle Hopper and Road Sector. Those left a huge impression on me.
Man, if Saban's Masked Rider is broadcasted nowadays, imagine the number of people in the internet that would bash Saban for his disrespect, especially in America. That's going to escalate real quick. XD
Another Saban's greatest insult that I should also mention here is Power Rangers Super Megaforce. It completely pales in comparison with Gokaiger as an anniversary season. That just proves how cheap Saban has become.
I haven't watched Super Megaforce yet but so many people said it's not good lol
I won't stop you from watching it, though. It's disappointing. Especially the ending. T.T

I think the problem with the show (and indeed multiple other American Tokusatsu adaptations in the 90s) is that they expected them to take off like Power a Rangers did, ignoring that they expected Power Rangers to be a one and done while producing the show and it became a surprise hit while they were making the last few (as intended) episodes. But with other shows, they expect to take off and last as long as Power Rangers, which they use as an excuse to basically ignore any plot or arcs the source material had in favour of episodic Nijinsky, to the point their finales could be any old episodes.
I was roughly 3 years old and I still remember being excited when he first appeared on a three parter in Power Rangers. He looked cool. It explained his alien origin and everything. No Ferbus. Just cloaked loyal friends that couldn't transform that he fought alongside with and his Grandfather, the King and the villain was his uncle Dregon. They even looked like they were gonna set up some eventual rivalry Lord Zedd was going to start with Count Dregon once Dregon arrived around Earth.
Watching that same team up years later, called "A Friend In Need" in the 3rd Season of Mighty Morphin, I think there he feels the most like a Kamen Rider should be like.
But then Saban and Fox thought his own show would work better as a sitcom and disconnected it from his meeting with the Power Rangers. (They pitched the show to their Fox affilate networks as a situation comedy with some action).
I wasn't a fan, even back then, but I still get nostalgic for how bad it was.
The toys were awesome though. I used to own quite a few of the figures in the toyline.
I loved the show! Matter of fact it's my favorite show of that time! The reason I think it wasn't as successful was because all the other tokusatsu shows of that time had a group of friends star in it. Power Rangers had Trini, Kimberly, Zack, Billy, and Jason. And VR Troopers had Ryan Steel, J.B Reese and Kaitlin Star. While Masked Rider only had one star, Dex. So that already brought it to a slow start. The fans where used to seeing a group which made it more exciting. Then of course the comedy didn't help either. But it did have it's good moments and cool characters. Plus the action figures where awesome!
I'm glad I know the name of Kamen Rider Black Rx just before Saban's Masked Rider came out. As a kid growing up in the 90's a lot of kids will do the Power Ranger transformation and there me doing the Kamen Rider Black Rx Henshin pose and they will all look at me like "what the heck are you doing?" with their face confuse moment lol. The good old day and all thanks to Kamen Rider Black Rx. Henshin!!!
I agree with you. I'm from France and the first contact I had with Kamen Rider was the Saban series. I hated the story and the side characters (especially Ferbus) but I loved the Rider's design and his weapons and vehicles. When I discovered the Japanese series, I read a lot about it and watched all the episodes I could (it was in the late 90's early 2000, it was kinda hard to find content online). That's the only good thing about Saban's Masked Rider.
Saban's Masked Rider was a show I watched as a kid, and even then I knew it wasn't good. Don't worry if you don't like the show, it's mostly a show we laugh about now. If you are going to watch it now, don't watch it as a serious show. Just watch it to laugh at, not laugh with.
I don't think Saban knew what to do with the Kamen Rider footage, that would appeal to the same kids that would like Power Rangers. Power Rangers, Bettleborgs, and VR Troopers had multiple suit actors from the Japanese footage, which allowed Saban to have more main characters included in the action and conflict. With Black RX, there's just 1 suit actor, which limits the kinds of stories that can be told.
Ferbus is just a bad comic relief character. They hoped that kids would like him, and would want to learn the lessons they were trying to teach with him.
When they showed the Showa Riders in the final episode, they cut Ichimonji's closeup
, because he looked too similar to Hongo, and didn't want to confuse the kids. Riderman was cut, because they didn't like having a closeup shot of the Japanese suit actor's face. The naming is wrong, because they were lazy and didn't match the names to the correct Showa Riders, they just cut Ichimonji
/Riderman's video, without correcting the audio. Every name after the spot Riderman is 2 names off the correct name. For whatever reason they only had ZX say the right name, probably because he was last and the editor just cut Super-1 and Skyrider's lines.
Dex was an alien, because in the 90s, aliens were cool. The starting 3 episodes of Power Rangers season 3 is a Power Rangers and Masked Rider crossover and it acts as an introduction of Masked Rider for the viewers. They said that Alpha 5 was a robot from the planet Edenoi, and they had a distress signal from his home planet. Since the villains were space invaders, they had the hero be a space hero, instead of another teenager from Earth.
ZO and J footage are used, because they had the license to use it, and didn't care that it didn't make sense to put it in the show. Which is a shame, because ZO and J are great.
Don't feel bad for not liking Saban's Masked Rider. We don't feel bad for not liking it.

THE Reason why Prince Dex look like an Americanized Kotaro Cosplay is, Saban is too lazy to hire a Stunt Actor for the fight.
I was fortunate enough as a kid to watch Kamen Rider Black and Black RX before Saban's Masked Rider. When I heard RX will be getting an American adaptation, I was excited. But when I finally watched it, it was so painful to keep watching it even as kid, I just switched off the TV 🤣

Here in Brazil it was worse, they had the audacity to transmit this masked rider only 4 years after they had already been broadcasting kamen rider black and black rx on open tv, so you can imagine the size of the absolute rejection that this series had!

Kamen Rider Black was popular in Philippines and i still watch Black & Black RX(which is better than Saban's Masked Rider) and i finished it.. that show was really better than saban version..

Have you seen Big Bad Beetleborgs (Juko B-Fighter), VR Troopers and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad yet? Theres no dub or sub but the plots ar usually superfluous so it's not too necessary.
It's really fun to watch you tear into this series, and I would love to see you talk more about some of the lesser known American adaptations of toku series.

I think the main idea was simple, Saban clearly wanted to capture the spark that gave life to Power Rangers and do it to Masked Rider, but clearly it didn't work. As someone who was a kid when both the original Power rangers came out as well as Masked Rider, Masked Rider just always felt like the lesser show, maybe even Saban knew it too since the first appearance of Masked Rider is actually in an episode of Power Rangers that really has no impact on that show either. Out of all the Saban shows I think Masked Rider was clearly the worst, it really showed that Saban didn't really know what he had, or maybe he knew and didn't care, which is sad cause other shows like VR Troopers, a weird combination of Metaldr, Spielban, and Shaider, and Big Bad Beetleborgs, which used Juukou B-Fighter and B-Fighter Kabuto, were miles better, in fact Big Bad Beetleborgs actually started to beat out Power Rangers at one point. Even compared to other American Tokusatsu such as Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad, which was Gridman, and the dub for Ultraman Tiga clearly showed it could be done, especially with the later success of something like Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight. Maybe if Saban, or whoever owns the rights at this point, tried now maybe they could do better, especially since we've officially gotten the Original Kamen Rider and Kuuga licensed in the west for people to see, but I will say if not for that series I probably wouldn't have latched on to Black RX as I did when testing out some Kamen Rider games that would end up being my gateway to Tokusatsu in general. So at lest something positive came from that.

The US audience doesn't understand Ferbus' existence either.
I never saw Masked Rider as a kid--heck, I didn't even know it existed until I was an adult--and that's probably for the best. XD; They clearly assigned Saban's D-list team to this one, and at most, it's a strange curiosity; it's the Goofus to KR Dragon Knight's Gallant.
(Side note: Beetleborgs was also incredibly comedic compared to its parent series, but I think it worked better 'cuz it understood how silly it was and ran with it. Have you seen that one?)
I'm from Poland and I used to like Kamen Rider when it aired here. It was dubbed into our language under name "Gwiezdny rycerz", literally Space Knight, or Star Knight, which is pretty good alternative, given he dons armor and has laser sword.
Major saving grace of Polish dub was that professional actors dubbed the characters, and Dex had a voice of an actor, who later on had and still has successful career both in acting and dubbing. So we couldn't really complain about acting in "original" Masked Rider.
I haven't yet re-watched Masked Rider, but even if I don't like it, I will still treat it simply as a product of its time. Sure, it could've been a cashgrab, but it hasn't killed Kamen Rider or something, there was even no new show at the time, so there could be little chance of adapting Kamen Rider outside Japan until Kuuga premiere.
Overall, I think your opinion is well justified, since you grew up with original show and seeing those changes really could infuriate someone who was born in Japan, but I totally don't get the hate of people who watched Masked Rider in the past and probably liked it back then, but now they just became salty cause the watched RX. Come one, if not for that cheesy mix between Power Rangers and Full House, the majority of us wouldn't be there discussing toku.

So, I was a kid when this show was being released and I can assure you that no kids that I knew liked Ferbus. But it was very, very common for every western kid show to have a goofy sidekick like Slimer from Ghostbusters or Snarf from ThunderCats.
If you ever happen to see the American versions of Spielban/Metalder and B-Fighter Kabuto (known as VR Troopers and Big Bad Beetleborgs) they also have their own similarly goofy mascot characters. I don't think Saban's creative team were usually very good at coming up with them.

Ok so for the Showa Legend Rider scene, they cut out Kamen Rider #2 because they were probably afraid that kids would get him and #1 mixed up. And they cut out Riderman because his Japanese actor's face is exposed.
But they still read the names in order, and it all got mixed up. I don't know why ZX still got his name right. By that "logic" he should be Skyrider.
OR they could just have all of them on screen and call them by the proper names.
Saban could have Re-shot Riderman's Footage with an American Actor's Mouth Under his Helmet.

The three parter Masked Rider was in in Power Rangers weren't that bad, I'd try watching those instead. It was a fairly respectful feeling representation of Kamen Rider in those episodes I thought

I guess they got the ZO movie as part of the deal when buying the black RX footage but for some reason used it all in the first 2 episode's instead of having ZO show up to be an alley to the masked rider

When I think of all the adaptations of Kamen Rider we could have had, but we don't because of Masked Rider (probably not the only reason, but it's definitely a reason), it makes me genuinely sad. Kamen Rider Dragon Knight isn't bad, but we can do so much more and do it better!

Also I I am a huge Kamen Rider fan now and thinking back on how poorly they handled the series when they had the chance I'm really disappointed on what they did with it.

I would say your thought are in line with most US fans on Masked Rider. It was not well received even back then, even though they pushed it hard by having two episodes, I think, of MMPR dedicated to doing a back door pilot for the series.

I liked Masked Rider in MMPR, but as for the series it was not a masterpiece. I believe Saban wanted another line of toys to sell and he thought it would be successful like MMPR. Saban tried again by adapting Juukou B- Fighter, aka Big bad Beatle Borgs.
Saban got so much wrong that it's genuinely funny
The name mix up with the Showa Riders is mainly because they didn't show Nigo and Riderman.
Nigo was supposed to be Warrior Commander but the reason he was cut was because he looks too similar to Ichigo (Warrior Leader), which would confuse kids. And Riderman has an exposed mouth so his lip movements wouldn't match the English dialogue. Which I find very weird because they were able to dub over Witch Bandora with no issue in Power Rangers.
And the names being wrong is more a sloppy job on the editors part. They have the right names but didn't bother match them correctly. Likely because they didn't care and already weren't familiar with the source material to bother. Same thing could be said for ZO footage. Kamen Rider J footage is even used in the show too and it's handled just as badly.
I've also heard a rumor that Shotaro Ishinomori thought that Saban's Masked Rider was so bad he forbid Saban from making any more Kamen Rider adaptations in the future.
I feel the same as Shotaro Ichinomori-san. I didn't feel any respect to Kamen Rider from it
About Ferbus, people are picky about what's "cute". Hell I showed some people Hanejiro and they thought he was disgusting ugly not cute, but I love Hanejiro more than Baby Yoda. So speaking Ferbus is far from that

US toku fan here, Saban's Masked Ri-DER is basically a joke to us. After Saban got successful with Power Rangers the company tried to make another hit show but put so little effort and care in. It was a very cynical cash grab. I can also say from experience that American children did not find Ferbus cute.
For me Masked Rider lives on as a punchline and as a ringtone of Skyrider yelling "I AM AMAZON!"

Masked rider was a complete disrespect of the series in my opinion, on mighty morphin power rangers seasson 3, the first 3 episodes are about the masked rider meeting the rangers on his planet, those 3 episodes ARE LEGENDARY since they promised so much! the poses of RX were there too, but when the entire show began it was a massive failiure and sadly it killed the image masked rider had on the west, then when Ryuki came about it gave a whole new image to what masked rider is on the west, and in a way it was for the better for most people remember dragon knight as a trully badass series with a way more serious tone than power rangers, thats why i love Kamen rider with all my soul, because i can relate to lone heros, thanks for making this video

I realize, 'Kotetsu Toys Japan Secret Base' is trying to find something worthwhile in Kamen Rider, in order to recommend watching the show, or advertise toys, but there remains a serious problem.
The entire Kamen Rider Universe has no redeeming qualities, needs no fans, and should not deserve any kind of external commerce.
Please try to find some reason to stay alive, because if I had to support this show in some way, I'd kill myself.

As a kid I remember watching the Power Rangers episodes that introduce Mask Rider and I loved the suit and thought the show was gonna be good. Then Mask Rider show came out and.... didn't like at all. I'm so sorry you had to see it.
The one series the entire western tokusatsu fanbase, or anyone who watched any other toku series, unanimously agrees is the worst rider season, if not one of the worst toku media.
There's another US adaptation, Dragon Knight, made from Ryuki, and it's actually a good one.

Agrees is bad, yes. One of the worst Toku Media out there, yes. Worst Adaptation...that's Megaforce because Megaforce was made with Actual Malice on the part of the production staff, and not just ignorance and incompetence as was SMR's case. Worst Rider series is still in debate, but for many SMR's been shoved out of the bottom 5 for that nomination, again due to the series that were made or ruined due to Actual Malice on the part of the producers or Staff, or the utilization of Idiot Plots that by-default are worse or more unwatchable. I think we can all Agree that Saban's Masked Rider is a series that should be hated, but elements of why it is bad are more widely showcased in other Material as opposed to the amalgamated mess of dumb SMR is.
Masked rider was a attempt to adapting kamen rider into American so that people from another country can watch western toku,However,saban and bandai obviously knew that Kamen Rider is a more mature and darker show then super sentai or power rangers, so they tried to toon it down to match the same level as power rangers but they forgot that power rangers was the next big trend and it never grew an audience so it never gained a full support but only relying on stock footage and other riders. It was a complete failure that toei decided to never touch another kr property ever again. Year's later we got dragon knight and everyone loved it but to me it was just another failure.
See in America culture every hero has their stories and powers tied by aliens and saban couldn't find another explanation so they just went with aliens which of course, the same with dragon knight.

I feel that Kamen Rider series have still gone down below the low rating Saban's Masked Rider has, mainly because when I first got (Re)Introduced to kamen rider in the late 2000's I started by watching a little bit of everything, and then the showa Rider series in order; so I felt seriously offended by some of the modern events that insult, disrespect or play revisionist history about what they did and were about; and likewise the themes and morality of them. Kamen Rider Taisen for example is unwatchable to me due to how badly I see the Showa riders presented in that film; as they openly help the villains and turn themselves into the bad guys as well due to the petty infighting they should have been above in a situation they could resolve without anyone getting hurt if they just helped the dead kid the heisei riders were protecting from Badan reach his goal and pass on into the afterlife and beyond Badan's reach--as they end up doing at the end of the film which further proved the point of how worthless their infighting was. It's because of them and their illogical grudge about attachment to the dead (something they themselves possessed thus cannot find fault in their juniors for their own periods of mourning and grief) that things in that film got as bad as they did. The film's core conflict between era's that the Showa Riders were entirely the source of, to me, was an open insult to the merit, values and experiences I saw presented in the Showa heroes. It made me feel that I wasted all of my time enjoying those adventures from the 70's and 80's if THAT was how they were now in the modern day, when their juniors in the 2010's embraced and embodied what they did decades before. Then again, I'm not Japanese so maybe the view on that film and events like it is different.
But to me, across the board with all media; If you're making an addition or contribution to a larger franchise, you need to show respect to the originating material in order to not insult it or consequently make something bad, even if you have some avenue of critique to its past series weaknesses. If you're going to make something involving a past character, and you have them act in a way that's in contradiction and disrespectful to how they've always been depicted before for no legitimate reason, then you've made something bad. Any time Kamen Rider seems to abandon its values in the manner I described above makes me feel like they've dropped to being worse than Saban's Masked Rider as a result, as at least most of SMR's offenses are simply from bad production decisions and just plain ignorance as opposed to something that appears to be made with either malicious intent or a complete lack of care towards what they are doing and how they are representing things. Thus I'm more Insulted by, say, what happened to Hibiki in its second-half and how the cast were treated in their own series. As I felt that showed actual malice. And whenever The franchise drops itself into being an Idiot plot--a story that could easily be resolved and concluded if it were not for the fact that everyone involved was acting like an idiot in contradiction to the goals they claimed to be working towards--I feel it in general gets worse than Saban's work on this show.
Saban's Masked Rider, regardless, is undeniably bad and no-one argues that it is anything different in any Good faith. It shows that same type of disrespect for the material that I on occasion see from some of Toei's production staff; and even before western fans widely knew about Kamen Rider this show was considered something to be avoided as practically nothing about it worked; taking a source series that...admittedly was rough around the edges, and mangling it with no understanding as to what they could do with it, other than they wanted to make it fit in the Might Morphin Power Rangers mold at a time that what MMPR was doing was in and of itself was changing and growing to be different than how it started; thus it felt like an archaic throwback to MMPR's earliest days that didn't understand what made the show work. It Felt like they didn't even want to do the show, with how little tangible effort they made in trying to do it right.
And as Bad as the stories are in Masked Rider, the sad thing is they genuinely make internal logical sense within themselves; thus it rarely actually ends up being an Idiot Plot. Prince Dex coming to earth happens because he's chasing Count Dregon as he feels its his responsibility to fight him, even though Dregon coming to earth makes no sense unless you watch the Power Rangers Crossover "A Friend in need" that set up Masked Rider's story. Why is Dregon coming to Earth to try and conquer it? Because he hates his Rival Lord Zedd (MMPR's main Villain) and wanted to outdo him at the one thing he was failing at. But externally, as a viewer, they do not as they focus and spend their time focused on the wrong things that don't make the story work. Such as it spending the grand majority of its time focused on Ferbus as the series goes on. For the Record, we hate Ferbus too, the only ones who claim to Like Ferbus are trolling everyone else. We are genuinely baffled that Saban thought that character was a good Idea, as even at the time no-one liked him, and he was over *EVERYTHING* in the show's marketing. The horrid editing on the show and their inability to explain why they cut footage as they did, did not make any of that better, and just made it worse to watch in the grand scheme. Case in point, the show getting the names of the legendary riders wrong is because the editor cut some of the footage and couldn't distinguish some of the characters so all the names stated no longer synced up with who they were supposed to; according to the production staff of it that was the source of the screwup there. But you see those kinds of screwups all over that series to the point it is just embarrassing; it's clear no-one on the show truly knew what they were doing, nor an Idea of how to do anything better.
And you didn't even get to the episode were they adapted Kamen Rider J's movie. The footage use of kamen Rider ZO is always at the forefront of criticism as its adapted as part of the first episodes...but J's footage was a bigger waste of time, and even more poorly edited.
I'd say Saban never got worse than this series, but honestly I feel Power Rangers Megaforce was legitimately worse as well. Saban's Masked Rider was an ignorant insult to the Kamen Rider franchise...but Megaforce genuinely was offensive to both its source series (Goseiger and Gokaiger), and the Power Rangers franchise as a whole out of its own showcasing of laziness, lacking competence by the writing staff who didn't seem to know what they were doing or how to adapt what they had and also MF's producer's own Hated of the Power Rangers series Produced By Disney (Ninja storm through RPM, the adaptations of Hurricanger through Go-Onger). Again, it goes back to that showcasing of Actual Malice towards prior series and lack of caring about what it is doing that is the deciding factor on why it is viewed more poorly. So Once again, Saban's Masked Rider is undeniably bad, but there are series that inexplicably find ways to be worse than it. Ergo, why its not much discussed anymore and has fallen to practical obscurity; we all agree on the core talking points about it, and there are series which exemplify all of its failures to an even more extreme degree. I feel Like I could spend more time than Zi-O or Megaforce's entire runtime detailing all of its problems as they are that inexplicably unique and numerous despite how predictable they are once you are in the head's of its production staff; whereas if you watch just a small portion of Saban's Masked Rider you basically see everything wrong with it up front. Its why for many with experience with a lot of varied series there's a Rule about how many episodes you can watch of a given show (between 2 and 10? it differs by person) before you have enough of an opinion to judge its merits as a whole. The more experience you have with the idiosyncrasies of a given writer or producer or genre, the faster such a judgement can be made.
Ironically, the only thing there isn't to complain about is the Music they composed. While it did not fit for the adaptation of a Kamen Rider series, Saban would later recycle the music tracks into their English Dub of Digimon Adventure, Adventure 02 and Tamers. While after I heard the japanese tracks I tended to prefer them, they weren't bad there at all.
I am so sorry you had to suffer watching that disaster of an "adaptation". Please forgive us.
To me, I love kamen rider and I want to make a adaptation of it but on it's on spin on its own. But I need only 3 things to make that happen

It's sad Masked Rider turned out so terrible. The original 3 part crossover with Power Rangers was pretty fun.
As for the Showa Rider name changers, I know they skipped over Riderman, because he has a visible mouth, so dubbing him maybe awkward (though, I doubt children would notice.) As for skipping Nigo, I assume they didn't want to confuse children, because he and Ichigo are mostly simmilar looking.

As a kid I liked some of the aspects of it (the cool suits,villains,fights,ect),but as an adult,WOW....that was bad. It was like a terrible edit of an unfunny family sitcom and RX.

Yeah. I watched it when it aired on TV but even as a kid I knew it was pretty rough, I have nostalgia for it but it's pretty bad. The editing is very bad and confusing, the writing is worse than Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, and they pad out the episodes run time with Ferbus running around which is mostly obnoxious.
