Gotta say this is best nightcrawler action figure, like how detailed it looks.
I'm fine with no sword, but they could've included a bamf effect at least!
They really need to get dumped on for that, they always miss so hard on FX. Who doesn't want Magnetos circular magnetic field? Nightcrawler's BAMF, Jeans Force field, and smaller telekinesis FX, a tornado base with big lightning bolts both yellow and blue for Storm. and lets not forget, no BAF sentinel, like they released the 16" sentinel, but it has next to no articulation, not even in the proper scale, no fx. They just make the same mistakes over and over, and when they finally release a Jim Lee/ or animated series accurate sentinel, they're gonna want $500 or more, with zero fx, and it's bs. Personally, I think people need to start voting with their wallet, no full fx package, no sale. Look at what Mondo is doing, can they get the same level of detail, no, that's not reasonable, but they could certainly try. Cant even get a proper 90's animated Sabretooth with the right size mane, body size, costume nose design, and the new series changed his colors, so there is no hope on sabretooth at all. Closest I see is the new two pack sabretooth and painting the pelt to match the 90's series colors. if they do get a figure right, they put cell shading and no power fx lol no items to signify events that happened. All this to say, I whole heartedly agree! Some of us really suck with hot glue guns and cant make custom stuff.

I like this figure more so for the pinless joints. I prefer the head sculpts of the comic version however. I really hope they release a '97 Beast especially because the aftermarket is pretty high for the retro version
I think he does use the sword in the new series but should’ve come with it regardless. It wouldn’t of cost Hasbro much and it would’ve made the legacy fans happy. But they knew it would sell plenty without it so economics wins. Nice, thorough review as always. ♥️

Would’ve been really cool if they gave him his monk robes as well. Gonna borrow one from a black series figure and see how it looks
Imagine if Mondo would start making this scale too, we'd always get all the power fx and story items included. I'd pay $50-$60 for 6" Mondo animated Xmen figures if they put the same passion into them as their 12" series. Instead, marvel makes two packs when a figure is heavily requested, paired with someone no one asks for to jack up the price, with no power fx lol

I really like the figure. The paint apps on the face are a better example of mimicking the shading of the comics without looking out of place.
The only feature I think are want out of this body is to move to abcrunch dumbbell lower torsos like Gi Joe. That's really it. Butterfly swivels would be nice but I think you get a nice cross as it.
it might be from the show but it 125% passes for the comic. He looks more like his comic counterpart then his look from the 90's show in terms of headsculpt. Really I can't think of how Hasbro could improve the aesthetics(outside painting in blue highlights) of the figure without going down the Mezco route.
Nightcrawler should be the next character Mafex really needs to tackle.

he uses lots of swords in the animated series in one scene. He uses 3 I believe 2 for the hands and one for the tail.

This is gonna be my comic Nightcrawler. The figure is good and the lack of sword doesn't bother me since the cartoon version doesn't seem to have one. Plus, I just don't really need a sword for my Nightcrawler.
Of the figures, Cyclops is the one I'm looking forward to most since there's a big Cyclops gap on my X-shelf and he seems almost perfect.
Yeah, comic Excutioner is 6'1. Magneto is 6'2 so they are basically the same height. Goblin Queen 5'6 and Nightcrawler 5'9 should be shorter, not taller than him LOL.

Night crawler should have been made with the amazing spider man first appearance body mold in my opinion but this one looks okay . I think the best figures of this

Since when is Kurt 60? In universe I never got the impression that he was that old. I guess he could age differently, but is that in canon?

@@rickytoddbotelho9555 It doesn't matter how long a character has been around in comics. They don't age in real time lol. Besides, Nightcrawler's age has never been specified or if his mutant abilities slow his aging in any way. Not that I can remember, anyway.
@@SlasherIncorporated I don't like the teenager style used for the head sculpt. Just not what I would want to see. It's Manga style is okay for a Manga style 👍
@@rickytoddbotelho9555 Well, it's based on the new animated show, X-Men '97, which is a continuation of the original FOX Kids X-Men: The Animated Series from 1992-1997. I don't know what age Nightcrawler was in that show. I don't think he was a teen or an old man. All the X-Men (except for Wolverine and Xavier) seemed like they were young adults in their 20s and 30s.
I’m torn on this figure. Nightcrawler has always been my favorite X-men character butI haven’t gotten a Nightcrawler since Toybiz cuz I’ve never really focused on toy collecting till recently. That figure had the bendy tail and articulated fingers/toes. I honestly miss the bendy tail and articulated toes. Hands not so much. The figure just doesn’t have the kind of articulation I was expecting. A couple of things would have really helped this figure. I wish the figure had the same torso articulation as the recent Spider-Man releases with the hinged waist and ball jointed chest. A swivel in the forearms and lower legs would really go a long way towards posing. He really should have came with a sword and even if they didn’t include one, he should have at least came with the grip hand from the last Nightcrawler so you can just use whatever you have around. I kinda notice the line is missing grip hands in general though🤷 Even with all these complaints I still dig the figure.The headsculpts are great and I’m just happy to see a new version of my favorite xman on my shelf.
The paint looks exactly the same to me. Maybe in hand though ...
