She wasn’t underrated at all. She made the cover of Vogue 100th anniversary. Those models were the ONLY supermodels. And her walk was the only one that could give Naomi a run for her money.
I consider Yasmeen to be legendary. To have achieved a level of success that Yasmeen achieved in the 90's is trailblazing, especially considering her ethnic and religious upbringing - modeling was considered a taboo career choice, but now others are coming into the industry because of Yasmeen. She was unique. Her style and her runway techniques were admired by designers and she was a favorite of magazine editors, writers, photographers everywhere. Her work helped paved the way for others to come into the industry.
@@kelerayg8942 I watched in one of her interviews that she will only allow herself to make-up her face but she wasn't exactly mentioning why? In my opinion, she trusted her make-upskill well enough and she was a supermodel who can command a certain degree of order so she was allowed by the designers to do her bidding.
Yasmeen was the most gorgeous model to have EVER existed. Her hair was fantastic, her smile gorgeous but not 'too much'. Her features were stunning. Her body was unbelievable. She was totally underrated to the max.
You do realise that she is the only person in our lifetime to possess the true regal skinny hourglass figure only ever seen in ancient Egyptian drawings. Wide shoulders, almond shaped eyes, swan neck and thick dark hair. Her beauty is so so rare regal exotic mix. More beautiful than cleopatra and nefertiti. She has similar features to nefertiti but a superior beauty.
She has nothing to do with Egypt. Her hourglass shape is typical of the Indian woman and she got her height from her German side. Her look is common in South Asia, but South Asians in general are a stunning people with gorgeous skin, hair, eyes. But they are not as tall as Europeans or Africans.
@@globalcitizenn yes she does but you are being too narrow and not look back in time. I mean ancient Egyptians. The days of cleopatra and nefertiti. Look at the hieroglyphs in the walls of Egyptian women. Who do you see? It's Yasmeen's look, her body shape, her wide shoulders, her almond eyes. Her look is from these times too. Did you know John Galliano actually cast her as Cleopatra sitting on a throne in one of his runway shows?
Yasmeen, with her long bob, epitomizes chic to me. I am astounded that someone so young could look so sophisticated. The blaze of post-Paulina, post-Elle, post-Cindy model inferno was definitely sparked by Yasmeen. Paulina, Elle, and Cindy weren't done (by any means), but Yasmeen ushered in a new fascination. I adore her.
She is awesome one of my favourite models of the 90s, binge watching video fashion in the 90s in my first flat! Her walk is one of the best, that gal can work it, amazing presence and so so beautiful
Beautiful, graceful inside out. Very down to earth and wise for such a young age (majority of girls in their 20's nowadays are all attitude and trying so hard and quite average beauty or fake plastic). She was/is so glamorous, beautiful and had the best walk on the catwalk, her body was so feminine, hourglass figure walking like she was floating. Simply stunning.
One of the best walks in history for sure (probably number 1)! Just every show, but her closing the Versace fall 92 show is the eptome of the supermodel! She was sexy and beautiful at the same time, her body wow! The waist! YASMEEN GHAURI IS MY FAVORITE ALL TIME RUNWAY MODEL. I'M GLAD SHE GOT OUT WHILE THE GETTING WAS GOOD FOR HER, AND SHE MARRIED VERY WELL, WITH 2 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. TRUST ME YASMEEN PAID A PRICE TO THAT INDUSTRY FOR HER BEAUTY. A LOT OF JEALOUSY SHE EXPERIENCED, BUT ALSO SHE DONE VERY WELL FINANCIALLY FOR HERSELF TOO. SHE HAS GREAT PARENTS WHO INSTILLED MORALS AND VALUES IN HER AT A VERY EARLY AGE. SOMETHING THAT PARENTS FORGET ABOUT TODAY IN OUR CHILDREN/FUTURE OF TOMORROW!!!!!!!
[1:03] Her accent.. “and especially since I cut my hair, I don’t feel sexy one _bit”,_ like the way she says bit sounds so sultry, idk. she had a nice accent. Since she was from Montreal, did she speak French? That could explain it, or it could just be a Canadian accent.
She's retired. According to her Wikipedia page, she stepped out of a fashion show that caused speculation she was leaving fashion, which she did, ultimately. She's married with children - from modeling to motherhood and that's where she puts her focus. When the Supers were making a come-back, there were questions if Yasmeen would also come back, but I don't think she will, but her fans would love to see her again. She was a true original. I would have loved to have seen her in the Versace show when Donatella brought back the Supers recently.
The perfect modelling body. Shoulders as wide as the biggest clothes hanger, waist as small as a disney princess and eyes like an egyptian queen. No matter how much they exercise, most models wont able to attain this look because it's like winning the gene lottery.
