  • This is meditation on the Nature of the Mind by Lama Shabkar taken from the text, "The Flight of the Garuda" - translated by Keith Dowman. The text can be purchased here:
    www.amazon.com/Flight-Garuda-...
Shabkar Tsokdruk Rangdrol (1781-1851) was a Tibetan Buddhist yogi and poet from Amdo. Shabkar's yogic and poetic skill is considered second only to Milarepa.
Shabkar begin his spiritual practice early, completing a one-year retreat at the age of 16, later becoming a Gelug monk at 20. Shabkar studied with masters of all major Tibetan Buddhist schools including Gelug and Nyingma, and received Dzogchen teachings from his main root guru Chögyal Ngakgi Wangpo. He spent years in solitary retreats in various caves, woods and mountains of Tibet. Shabkar's works express non-sectarian ideals similar to those of the 19th century Rimé movement, even though he predates the movement by about three decades and never met with any of the Rime masters from Kham.

The current state of the world fills me with sorrow. I am a bit on the older side, and state of my body is also increasingly problematic. Anyways, these words console. They are like a light in the darkness. "Besides the mind, there is no other dharma. Therefore, you have no action to carry out somewhere else."

Wow, this one was so easy to see, I tried focusing only on the space instead of the forms and at least it is obvious that the awareness is what is everywhere.

Lovingly suggest adding a "thanks" button to your videos. Someone I know added it to their channel and now even the $2 option button brings in more than the PayPal option - still extant - has been getting.
Hope this isn't too presumptuous on my part.
Thank you for your cosmically welcome darshan. 📿🙏💫🕉️💙
    Peace & light.

Thanks for your kind concern and suggestion - it's not presumptuous at all. However, you have to have monetized your channel to have this option and my channel is not monetized and never will be. A monetized channel means that a creator can make revenue through YT advertising and the like and this is something I am not interested in doing, nor am I permitted to anyway as a Theravadin monastic. I am not in the business of selling the Dhamma nor profiting from these offerings. People are welcome to make a donation via Paypal or Patreon to our nun's hermitage if they wish to express their gratitude and offer their support and I have made those details available and obvious (I think) following written inquiries. With warmest wishes. 🌷

    One question samaneri .
If God says everything is an illusion.
Then the scripts written by god's and saints are also an illusion.
    For the illusory mind .
So whatever is thought is absolutely illusory.
So how do the gods find the basis of any truth in an illusory place .
So the so called thinking mind finds peace for ever in its totality .
Thankyou we love your audios .
You have helped me tremendously in overcoming the illusory world .
Lots of love and good wishes.
Where do I find all your audios please and how do we save them

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  Рік тому +25

_So how do the gods find the basis of any truth in an illusory place?_
The basis of the Truth is directly seeing this very illusion for oneself. There is nothing to see beyond this. In that very seeing, the illusion dissolves and the Truth just is. The basis of the Truth is the place of non-grasping, non-clinging, non-identification, and non-delusion. In that place of Truth, there is no God, no gods, no self, no other, no separate phenomena, no bondage, no liberation. All is emptiness, inseparable from appearances.
However, if one only understands this intellectually and attaches to this as just another conceptual 'view' and starts making pronouncements like, 'all is emptiness', 'there is no self', 'consciousness is this', 'consciousness is that', blah blah blah, in an effort to convince others out of conceit, confusion or insecurity, then it shows that they have not really understood. Those who truly know don't attempt to convince others and will often remain quiet.
They also understand, appreciate and are able to integrate the two Truths without being in conflict in anyway. The two Truths are: 1. Conventional reality (there is a self, there are phenomena, there is karma), and 2. Absolute Reality (there is no abiding, permanent self, there are no separate phenomena, etc.)
      As Nagarjuna says:
_“All philosophies are mental fabrications. There has never been a single doctrine by which one could enter the true essence of things."_
      and
      "The victorious ones have said
That emptiness is the relinquishing of all views.
For whomever emptiness is a view,
      That one has achieved nothing."
In response to your last question, you can find the link to my Google Drive sitting in the right hand corner of my YT Home page and can download any recordings from there.
      Hope this is helpful

But I love Krishna and He will always be my Lord ❤ I can’t let Him go ever. I just can’t. I just can’t. I know He’s there. I listen to all your videos and love them and know there are many paths. But I just love Him

@@rebeccablossom9823 You don't have to stop loving or believing in Krishna. Krishna is the embodiment of ananda (bliss). This ananda is present at all times within you, you are not separate from Krishna. If you follow the bhakti path to realise Ultimate Truth then that is fine. I would suggest you read the story of Sri Ramakrishna who was a bhakti saint and a devotee of the Divine Mother Kali and how a monk named Tota helped him to realise the Ultimate non-separation, non-dual Reality (emptiness or voidness of all appearances) to attain awakening. Prior to that he perceived Kali to be outside himself and was not liberated from maya - these false perceptions of separate forms.

This is all I needed to read this morning…I’m struggling with the balance between the 2 Truths intellectually and emotionally…until I rest in That with more stability…the space or emptiness between the 2 Truths. I’m practicing patience while I play out the karma of mother…teacher…lover. I Mahalo Nui Loa❤❤
