I can confirm that Arturo is Hispanic. No need to worry, Movie Bob. I predict that there is an 85% chance that he’s Hispanic. We got him.

still astonished that you only have 200k subs. definitely deserve more
Grats on 200k subs, dude. Channel is dope.
I love this show. I kept seeing UA-cam videos complaining about the title while not watching the show and was thinking “is this our society? We judge the entire show based on a title?” I’ve heard people say it offends them, and when they actually watch episode 1, their attitude about the show evolves to, “pretty good show”
clouddavis i didnt even think twice, clicked on the first episode and watched it all in a day. Was really different and well done
I’ve only watched the movie and the first episode was too lazy to finish the whole show
The first episode with Sam pissed me off to know end. I hate Sam, she's so fucking triggered by everything, let's her friends discriminate against her boyfriend for being white. But somehow makes up for it by making herself even more the fucking victim of the whole world and gets him back. The first episode made me stop watching the show for a whole year at how retarded everyone of the black students seemed bitching about being oppressed while real oppression still exists in non first world countries. Gays get thrown off buildings and women get stoned for being raped but people in America really act like they have any claim to call themselves oppressed. Most of these characters are repugnant and everything They say and do repulses me because they are all bigoted, liars and hypocrites. Idc if this show is supposed to be a parody or whatever, it literally hurts to watch a show so retarded. I got to episode 5 and as soon as some chick complained about the imaginary patriarchy I shut off my Netflix and had to nurse a head ache from the stupidity.
I get that. And mostly, I agree with you. However, like the video brought up, there is a reason why people dont like nor click... click bait. I'm wouldnt say that 'Dear White People' is 'infamous-UA-cam video-level-clickbait... but its not too far from it either, especially given how divided our country is concerning race today.
That said, i think it should be (hopefully) assumed that a T.v show has more wisdom in itself vs a mere UA-cam video. That is, there is more at stake to gain and lose from a T.v show than a UA-cam video. And if that is the case, the general public should have more, for lack of a better word, patience for a somewhat clickbatey T.v show title. In other words, for T.v shows, people should be more willing to check out the show first, in its entirety, before casting judgement. In that sense, I agree with you.
DEAR BLACK PEOPLE
Amen to that, hit the nail on the head with what you said about many online conversations nowadays. Instead of correcting someone's pov/ statement many of us end up throwing shade at the person to hit top comment or just make the person feel stupid and that person or another user retaliates with their own shade and it just fuels a cycle of noise and cynicism rather than trying to actually talking about the point the person has made and forming a constructive conversation.
To be frank this is the first I have seen of the show apart from the title. When I first saw the title I gave a sigh because I'm tired of all of the race-baiting, and moved on. I'm interested in shows that portray other cultures than my own, but I have enough self- respect to not financially support someone that is consistently berating me on based on nothing more than my skin tone. I might watch it now, but I'm honestly a bit on the fence.
dude .... i was so ready to eyeroll you video. just decided to watch and you're amazing. you're honest and you feel real
That Hamilton at the end caught me so off guard...But I immediately went: "1776- NEW YORK CITY-"
Great now I have to listen to the entire album of Hamilton
You got a great perspective and this video is quite good.
Althooo, maybe talk at a slower pace because the ideas aren’t allowed to simmer as effectively as it would if you talked a bit slower. Just my thought. Would love to see more vids from you!
I've seen 5 minutes of this show. If someone made a show like this called dear Black People, shit would hit the fan real hard.
Dear White People is pretty dope. It's actually what happens when a writer listens to critique of the initial project and refines based on that feedback. Good shit.
Bro, before you even said who was behind the troll account, I had to pause. Now I have to go watch the show
People don't listen because part of them doesn't like the feeling of having their ideas challenged. In many ways our political philosophies and ideas about the world are similar to religious beliefs. Hell, they are beliefs. And we spend a lot of energy validating, constructing, and reaffirming those beliefs. Challenging those beliefs is a punch to the gut. Its possible to change someone's opinions, but it takes a lot of energy.
there isnt a problem with a great show
2:19 "am I missing something? "
Yes, yes A LOT actually.
We think similarly in so many ways we always have the same opinions on everything
I have never seen this show and I admit the title right away offends me and makes me angry. But, you did a really good video here that makes me think maybe I should look at it a little even though it is not my stile. Good job on you r video dialogue and reasoning. I like it. Keep up the good work.
Thanks to you I even found out about Coco and it became one of my favourite movies of all time. Even though I didn't know all that much about mexican culture. We didn't have that much advertisement for the movie over here
The background song is Righteous Minds by Joey Bada$$, bruh don't forget to S/O your background music in your description you could put a lot of people on some fire stuff
Offensive title. Wouldn’t fly if a Dear Black People was created. It is well written, well directed, well acted, however it offers up a whole lot of problems but no solutions. It comes across as constantly presenting negative white stereotypes and not much positive in future outlook from the characters narrow point of view. Ultimately the show is not horrible, but doesn’t add any thing positive to a constantly degrading levels of race relations.
Erik Booth the show addresses the issue of ‘Dear Black People.’ It spends a great deal of time on the topic actually. The entire second season of the show focuses more on problems within minority community and rarely even focuses on white people aside from the character of Gabe of whom most, if not all, of the audience actually likes and is made to sympathize with. The show even takes out the word white in the opening credits of the show in the second season by placing a different character in place of the word each episode. Example: Episode focuses on Sam so the title is changed to Dear Sam People a.k.a people like Sam.
Why did I fully wake up from my sleep to sing Aaron Burr Sir. What has that musical done to me? It's not even my favorite 😂
Yesss I love the last words being connected to the “Talk less” Hamilton reference!
I was so confused that the journalist was the secret twitter account because I thought Lionel was the person doing it when one episode they showed it to be him. Please help me understand
the only thing i didn't like about the show was how the "opposing voices" the "white voices" were just touching on the surface and kinda made them seem stupid. like the dear right people podcast made me cringe really hard and im kinda center right myself and share a lot of opinions that those people would share.
i am assuming that it was the point. black people being stereotyped in most media but in this show its the white people/right leaning people being stereotyped. it would have been nice to see maybe some more black people or minorities sharing the same opinions that the right wing people did. Sam was waaaay to extreme for me as well. came off as a bit of a social justice caricature with some of her points. but i like that the show constantly challenged her.
i have soooo many conflicting opinions about it. I binged it and was super excited for the second season. i went in ready for this really preachy show all about social justice and lefty bull and i came out of the first season really satisfied and it even changed my mind about a lot. but i just really do not like how the portray the opposing side. wish that there was maybe a sam character that was just as extreme as her but on the right.
I dare even say that Season 2 was a tad bit better than Season 1 imo. And I agree with you 100%. As a person who saw the Dear White People movie opening day, I actually hated the movie. But I absolutely love the series.
Side Note: Am I the only one that is in love with Ashley Blaine Featherson (aka Joelle)? That's wifey!
If the Nuance is there, not only does it seem like you have to get to the second season (Judging by your caps)... But you have to ignore the title, the creator, the interviews... I also have to ignore the fact that the "Nuance" are from villains who fulfil the stereotype of "Race Traitors" that is very pervasive in Blaxploitation. In fact even to the right, RIGHT NOW, in my UA-cam suggestions are content from the creators of the show that would scare off most people. The show REALLY doesn't help itself and at this point it would be silly to say it is entirely because of the title.
I'll give the show a watch. I got a bit of a passive aggressive feeling from the title and the trailer. Honestly the title is awful, you get the idea that this is not a show where poc just live their lives, but a show where poc talk about white people... Like, I feel that's also a disservice to poc. But regardless, enough people have said that it's a good show.
I watched it and it was dumb af, the blacks blaming every white for actions other people made, they even said Bill Cosby was innocent and was framed by the whites like wtf
That was a lot of topics. All I really learned about a show I only saw the billboard ads for was the ending. I liked Coco I didn't see it as diverse, my children and I watched in theater, nice Mexican tale, my at the time up coming Nicaraguan ex-husband was very offended by it, so I told him if he doesn't like it make his own Nicaraguan kids movie. He chose to replay Mario games for the last five years instead. XD
Dude Hamilton at the end slayyyyyys
I love dear white people. I personally liked season 1 a lot more than season 2. Still really love that show. The title and trailer is misleading totally. But the show is super good at showing the prejudice black people can have for white people. Great show. If you haven’t seen it, watch it!
Yesssss the outro song!!!!
I keep hearing that this show is great, but I really can’t find the motivation to watch it. I don’t care which political sides it makes fun of, but I’m just tired of politics in general now. I hear too much about them in real life, so it’s hard to watch a show that also deals with politics.
The problem of the show is the show
people already assume the prenarrative of a show and get offended based on its title like dear white people but the same demographic has seen faithfully two times or more how to act black by derray lewis on netflix as well
Speaking as a Mexican American myself I watched the show I thought it was pretty good I liked the way they dealt with the subject of the young lady being half white half black I have a Mexican American daughter that's half black and meeting of mixed heritage of myself American descent his father was a my American mother was Mexican and It's kind of hard to to navigate that where you're if your mom's 11 race and your father's another race it's kind of you know it's hard to navigate an iPhone for Samantha the girl in the video in the movie very much and it it makes you have to stop and think about where you are in society and how far you can go with it I thought it was a pretty good program and I wished I could have kept on watch it already dated took it even further that's all I have to say that's my comment for the day and thank you very much for the show
4:00 The Sicilian and Southern Italian people's do not accept him as Italian due to disgracing his people with his actions. He is officially Non-Italiano, and we will change all existing files on him, making him Milanese instead, or maybe Venetian, wherever Columbus and Mussolini are from. Do not worry, justice has been served and all is at peace, you may rest easy now, good people of UA-cam
1:59 dan stevens lmao
Nice perspective; sadly one that’s missing more often than not these days. Haven’t watched Dear White People, but I may consider it based on how you describe it. You know, while this is the first time I’ve watched a video by you, I have to say that, while I have no idea about your political views, you come across as a guy that’s great to grab a beer with. Nicely done.
200k finally, you deserve it
Bob Chipman makes me sad.
Im ALT right and i love this show, of you put the politics aside it is really entertaining
I’m watching season 2 now, man so many feels, so intense.
I watched the show and i still don't know what to think. For me, Sam was constantly searching for the drama. If you are in a prestigious college and you have all this free time i think you are previleged. I didn't like how they put some its white previleges like when one white person saying she got into a group cause she is white and she just say well its not fair but we are not treated the same.
I think this show paints us blacks in a bad light legit the chick that said black people can't be racist is dumb yes they can I'm saying it now we can be racist but I'm not racist myself why not just make the title of the show do your people or some other crazy bull crap like that I have a bunch of white friends and they're not all the same one of them is my best friend no matter what the show is just really bad
This is a good video. I like your style.
Dear white people title and your title for this video defiantly did it’s job lol I clicked and watched both haha

He explained himself on this video, thats why, and he's right. What he did was wrong but since its tv i can see the point
SirJack of Camelot hahhaha yeah how are those guys gonna take their leader being a a gay mexican/italian guy
'that's not a letter addressed to me' 😅 it's a good show it's a shame about title puttitng people off
Jayson With a Y if the title puts people off, then the show isn’t meant for them
Meh, the show addresses this problem in its tagline: "Bet You Think This Show Is About You."
Now, I can't say whether there is a lot of overlap between the type of people who complain about hypersensitive triggered snowflake millennials and simultaneously call the show racist because of its title... but I imagine there is some overlap.
Frankly, white people are so used to everyone else being the butt of the joke - "Asian restaurants serve cat/dog meat"/"Black people can't swim" jokes were still pretty popular where I grew up - that we get uncomfortable if that finger even slightly turns our direction for even a moment.
The way I see it, the title was necessary.
WildWestSamurai thats pretty gay dude
Jayson With a Y
I'mma be real, i never got beyond the first episode, the show wants me to care for hypocritical black people, who put everyone in the same basket because of their skin color, when they clearly are oppressing the same idea of white people thinking all blacks are bad! I Hate the movie, and maybe it's statement is that "focusing on color, and oppression drives people to stereotype each other, and that's wrong" but that first episode didn't say so, and even the MC knows that the blacks are racist, but she acts as nothing's wrong! As you can see, i have a strong opinion on the movie! Also, the name is wrong on so many levels!
MattOmniHeart you’re judging the show based off an episode? That’s pretty stupid.
Gotta say, I really respect and appreciate all these videos on topics like this that kinda relate to you and sometimes don't? Either way you put out your EDUCATED opinion with reasoning and evidence and it really helps me see the sides of big controversies going on. So thanks!

Arturo, never change amigo. Tu personalidad makes your videos even better.
Never really understood the hysteria. Of course the title was intentionally sensational to get you to pay attention, but then so is everything. People were like 'how would you feel if it was "dear black people."' Well the show equally addresses issues within black communities in america, it would be just as apt if it *were* called 'Dear Black People', or perhaps even more so depending on how you look at it. What's more, if a white person were to make a show called 'Dear Black People', and it was just as thought provoking and even-handed as DWP, it wouldn't be a bad thing. In fact, it'd probably be a good thing.
People would act the same they just ignore the rest of the people who don’t care but they just love doing that
It's actually completely normal for people to resist when their race is used as a convenient explanation for problems.
@Rehaan You're being overdramatic. There aren't double standards. A 'Dear Black People' would be just as sensationalist a title, I'm not saying otherwise. I'm saying that if the topics around race relations and coming of age were handled just as well, it wouldn't be a good thing.
If you watched the show, you'd know that the journey of the central, bi-racial, character about is realising just how narcissistic and self-indulgent she is. The show is about examining how necessary and useful identity politics can be for minorities, and examining when it can lead to pathology.
@@danielopolot4198 identity politics is good ?
@@DrSupes huh?
I actually want to see Dear White People now. I had no problem with the idea but as a black person whose race is not my daily concern I was tired of black content that suggested this was all black people worry about. Knowing now that the show is much deeper, I'm interested. Movie Bob was really being a hypocrite with those tweets, no question. Thanks for this discussion because I learned a lot. Also are we still seriously guessing people's race with a glance Bob? Stop.
There's a lot of "Black" content that showed that's not all we are worried about.. But unfortunately also that's most of our history in America.. Only a few "Black" people had the pleasure of not worryin about their "race" and that's in certain areas..
When I first heard of this I didn't really think about it. Not being too concerned with things aside from growing up. I was also pretty annoyed at the same time that a lot of the online identity on white people seemed to be that white people are bad, and need to open their eyes. It turned a majority of the online black identity in my opinion as abrasive, and unfriendly. I don't carry this view in real life, but online it's gotten a bit tiresome. So I'm pretty glad I saw this video. It's gotten my interest, but it will still be a bit of a struggle to watch it. Considering the title. So I'm pretty much in the same boat as you with interest.
Actually looks like a pretty good show. I heard about it tonight. It came across my UA-cam suggestions and the video I watched made it seem bad. But it's a bit more nuanced than what people give it credit. I hope Netflix keeps the show.
What up fake account 🙂
The trailer I saw gave me the impression ot was going to be super racist against white people. She delivered a line about make the town black again. The hell am I supposed to think when you throw that at me and then follow up with a scene of White teens getting trash and paper balls thrown at them. Bruh, what am I supposed to think about this.
PARDON ME
I don’t watch much tv, but started watching this based on your recommendation and was pleasantly surprised! I like how it deals with the subject matter without much pandering 👌🏼
This show is so underrated! I wish people would just watch it and not judge by the title.
Beatness better than the movie? Cuz I hated the movie
Brittney Peoples It's very similar to the movie, but a lot better. I mean basically it's the movie, told in a better way, and then goes beyond the plot of the movie. Also each episode is told through the perspective of a different character so if you don't like Sam don't worry because a lot of it is about the other characters.
I love season two, it got me shook
Oppression ft migos is why I didn't watch
Beatness
personally, after watching that first episode, I more than hated it, the message i got was far from discrimination of whites, and even blacks, the movies stereotypes everyone, then complains about stereotypes!! If there is deeper message there let me know, but since i find it a misrepresentation of how people should see race, i just hate it, Message, Execution and all!
he said "this isn't a letter adressed to me." SAVAGE!
It isn't? Oh yes I forgot he is orange not white, damn colourblindness fooled me again

This is such a weird coincidence because I finished the show yesterday. I'm really fascinated with the show as it really highlights the hypocrisy if people from all spheres of life. It's a smart and refreshing. This video was great!
a great video as always. it’s a shame you don’t have more subs than you do. your perspective is always fresh, and nothing comes off as disingenuous.
Congrats on 200k! Love your videos!
This show actually does Comedic social satire right. The writer crafts a world & characters that near mirrors our own. Knowing when & what to subvert the stereotypes to tell the larger story. On screen or off. But folks keep complaining about the title.
I like the show. But sometimes I get really lost. I always get this sensation that whites and blacks are just one offense away from a total war. But at the same time there are interracial relationships. It even has an episode where one of the black girls break up with a black guy because he is kind of racist (I think... I really didn't understand that episode).
This show doesn't even touch A Differet World. Now That's a show that did comedic satire right. Much better characters and writers too.
I hate that this show is trying to make people hate eachother
I think that’s the point. It’s supposed to be gripping! It’s supposed to catch you off guard. Because Racism catches you off guard. 🤷🏽♀️ Putting everyone in a specific foot hole is wrong, and that’s what the show is trying to disprove. If it was named “Dear Racists” or “Dear Dummies” it wouldn’t have the same affect or stick in your mind.
BTW, It is an awesome Show!!!!!
Go watch! It’s eye opening!!!
Nah the title is pretty dumb
M Bouzi if you say so.....
LisaWithDaTea no but for real, imagine if there was a show called "Dear Black People." If it's just offensive to be offensive, then I don't get the purpose or really even care.
M Bouzi This happened when the show “Blackish” came out and people were off put by the name. I get it. I’m just stating after watching both of the shows, I understand why they were named a certain way. It’s supposed knock you off balance, the entire show is designed to make you think differently.
M Bouzi The point is to make people feel something about that title. Quoting one of the characters: "Feels weird to be reduced to a color, doesn't it?". So, if you feel offended or uncomfortable, that's the point, not to make you feel bad, but to make you empathize. If you feel bad, about it you can imagine how others feel when the situation is reversed.
Just finished season 2, absolutely loved it. Definitely my favorite on Netflix right now
Netflix must be terrible then
Then watch more fucking Netflix
Poor taste
The title is so misleading. It isn't really about white people, but about the nuances of black culture and how we as a people navigate through the world.
Kairo so clickbait??
But in RELATION or in REACTION to their relationships with white people and within white spaces. This series gives white people an insight inside the lives and community of blacks with the hopes of challenging some to evaluate themselves and change!
You might just be one of the few middle of the road people I’m willing to listen to. It’s not that many and there’s a reason for that, but even if I wrote it in full detail, I’ll likely get a few people in my replies who’ll jump in and make it into something.
But I like how the title of this video had me going in thinking that it was going to be pointing out the flaws of the show, but turns around that’s not exactly what happens. Same with when I watched your video surrounding coco and how it serves as explaining how is more of a good example for what to do involving diversity in film/television.
I love this show lol I was ready to be angry when I saw the thumbnail. good thing i kept my mouth shut and watched it first.

Thank you so much for recommending this show I absolutely loved it.
See I understand clickbait, but what I don't understand is the idea that you can fight racism by being so aggressive. In order to actually do anything about racism you gotta y'know change minds, namely racist minds. Otherwise you're just agreeing with all your liberal friends about how right you are. And a title like "dear white people" to a racist is just inviting more racism.
Like believe me I love the Malcom X fight fire with fire mentality, but there's a reason Dr.King is the more celebrated of the two, and it's because he changed more minds.
I honestly found season 2 to be pretty much on point from start to finish. My favorite netflix series
I loved this season of Dear White People . I feel like they really came into their own this season.

As a conservative going into college this year I find this show to be pretty bad (I watched every episode). There are really only two conservatives that are regularly on the show.
The first one (as you mentioned) is Silvio. Honestly I agreed with a lot of his points before he started just attacking the characters which let me be clear is not something I condone when it's attacking for the sake of attacking.
The second one is Al. He rarely brings up his political beliefs (the most obvious point is when they're watching the news and he speaks out against them attacking the destined CR speaker Rikki) and whenever Al does bring up his political views he is quickly silenced or made to look like a fool. Honestly, I relate to Al in the sense that I feel like I can't bring up anything political despite having to hear my beliefs attacked on a regular basis, because anytime I do I get attacked by so many people so quickly it's not usually worth it.
Finally we get to Rikki(Tessa Thompson). She is a conservative black woman (and I think she was meant to be representative of Candace Owens just my theory). Despite this when Sam goes to confront her she says she's not really conservative she's just using their money. Then when she walks on stage (Silvio's response was similar) she doesn't seem to know how to talk to black people or really have any facts to back up her statements despite there being plenty.
Overall the show paints conservatives as deplorable and inherently racist people. The Dear Right People radio show is portrayed as bigoted people stealing Sam's show with no actual facts on their side again despite there being many. Al is the lightest black person at AP House and the only notable conservative. Rikki isn't really conservative. Is the show then enforcing the narrative black people can't really be conservative?
And as an aside why couldn't they make a decent white character (someone that isn't constantly asking permission/apologizing/being racist)?
Just Me black people are conservative you missed that in the show I bet, cause its there. But for one to see it, it helps to know what to look for. Also id ask myself what it is that the republicans aren’t doing to attract people who are already pretty inline with what they preach? Thats the real story here.
Just Me no one will care that your conservative I just finished college. And unless you wanna be a poli sci major you won’t really be talking about that kind of stuff beyond maybe your first year because after that its all major courses.
Just Me Al is the Latino guy, don't think he's a conservative. Do you mean James? I thought his character was alright
I agree with you, if you have some different opinion, or if you're not "woke" then you're shut down, or are automatically seen as ignorant, there's no room for discussion. Also the big events that set the plot in motion, the black face party, the gun being pulled and the protest all seemed to be unrealistic which is where the show loses me
Coco was excellent
she is my favorite character
OMG im sorry im slowwww ur talking about the Pixar movie lmaoooo
Asha Anderson 😂😂
This is the most honest video I've seen on UA-cam in a long time.
The only thing I disagree with the movie about is its definition of racism. Sociology courses in Canada where I’m from have the textbook definition of racism as 2 parts, Systemic and individual. But that shouldn’t even matter in an argument because normal people don’t give a shot what it says in a textbook. The socially learned definition of racism is discrimination based on race. Normal people on the street don’t give a shot about what you were told in your liberal arts class, because it doesn’t matter to them, they just know it’s bad and don’t care for people using semantics to dismiss their complaints.
I mean that's true... But that doesn't mean that we should just disregard Systemic racism.
Beatness I’m not saying we should just disregard systemic racism. Systemic racism is terrible and needs to Be addressed. I was saying that people devaluing other peoples plights because they are not serious enough to count for a definition that they self impose is bad. Definitely not systemically bad, but that doesn’t make the individual bad thing not a bad thing that’s happening.
I felt that the movie was criticizing the character that said that for being so obnoxious. Yes technically she’s correct but she’s not winning any arguments.
Edward Ortiz Yeah, the movie played with that a lot. People had differences of opinion but it awkwardly doesn’t get resolved and both people arguing stand there looking like idiots.
I guess I should’ve added that I’ve just seen that clip out of context on so many obnoxious tumblr type posts that it perpetuates the half truth. My intention was to point out how the one minute clip from the movie has affected a lot of civil discourse by bringing a trump card to everyone’s attention that just halts all discussion because [insert race here] has had more advantages, therefore their opinion is irrelevant. It turns past tragedies into numbers that people weigh and decide who was oppressed more.
It’s like people saying rich people can’t complain because no matter what happens to them they’ll be fine. My friends Great-Grandmother was super rich. It didn’t change the fact that she had to watch her entire family die in the holocaust. I’ve heard actual people say it was fine because she was rich. I’ve also heard people say that discrimination was fine because people with the same skin colour tend to have advantages.
I’m just tired of people that use identity politics to weigh oppression to decide the crimes that my friends and family have committed via their audacity to be born a skin colour. Or as most people know it as, racism.
Sorry if this sounds aggressive, it was not meant to, it’s like 2 am where I live. Night.
Talk less; smile more.
Don't let them know what you're against
and what you're for.
I watched several episodes of it, but it's extremely racist. I'm a European so a lot of these topics go over my head. It was an alright show but the amount of generalising etc. Just bothered me 💀💀
Oh no, I fucking watched it alright. I wasn't racist when I started, and now I am.
would love to see you do a vid on the second season of 13rw and how that last scene was WAY TOO GRAPHIC (none of the trigger warnings at the start prepared anyone for that, they were for 'sexual assault' and 'drug abuse' but none for violence and none prepared anyone for that scene) and how they care more about shock value than actually helping their viewers. After the show, i tried looking at their 'crisis resources' promoted on the show and found out that crisis centres for sexual assault only help those over 18 - which is no use for a lot of viewers. Also, if you are reading this you should watch bbc's clique and compare them, personally clique is the better show that tackles the issues a lot better without using graphic scenes for shock value and actually touched on the whole people in power being abusive before the whole hollywood thing came out so I recommend that show - if you can't find the episodes I have a link of them that I have recorded.
See my problem with the show is her camera hole didn’t match her case SO MANY TIMES
My favorite show right there with Atlanta
How did I never realized before that your outro is from Hamilton wow
UUUUUHHH I am new here and just got attacked by random Hamilton
Its like if people dont watch the video then they are missing out and are kinda fitting into the narrative of something the show talks about. It's more about different kinds of black people and things theyre going through
Maybe a better title would have been dear all people.
Great video. I have literally finished watching the series moments ago given your recommendation. Also, the music 🎶 in your outro. ♥️
wow! until this I had no idea there was a movie.
I am very Caucasian so I clicked the show in curiosity and I actually loved it
I'm a year late to write my essay on this but I might as well say something, if no one likes it I hope someone at least thinks it's dumb enough to be funny lol.
Dear White People has a name meant to draw people in or atleast try to, it worked for me because I thought I was gonna tear this show apart with "facts and logic" from my conservative views which always beat liberal feelings no matter what lol. This show is worth the watch because you have to try to listen, the "right" always argues for that but then doesn't listen to the other side, they only argue that everyone should listen to both sides when it's they want to be heard.
In 2017 when this show came out I was a right wing dude who really thought I knew what was up. That I was a truth seeker and a "freedom" defender lol, I really thought that. I'm not white but was just engrossed because I felt accepted by like-minded people. Until I disagreed and then I was back to being a stupid liberal defending people making dumb decisions when no one thought about why they made those decisions. Anyways I was exactly the type of person who was going to hate this show.
Then I watched it and enjoyed it, related to people I thought I would hate. It's issues like the pregnancy/abortion arc that really showed me the gravity of the argument and what it meant when someone goes through with it. The whole flash forward of what could be with Coco thinking about her daughter going to the college she had to leave to raise her, then she walks into the doctors room really told me something.
That racial issues are real and far from coincidences and making judgement based on race is real, when that guard pulls a gun on a college student after a fight but only asking for the black students I.D it showed me these things.
There's a sentence spoken by Silvio where he says something along the lines of "In this country you have to choose between who you are and getting what you want." which both relates to his gay and racial identities but I thought it was a good quote.
At the end of the day this showed made me think, and see there's good and bad opinions on both sides of the political spectrum, it wasn't the only thing to do it but it was a piece of it. Watch this show even if you think you're gonna hate it, if you don't want to listen to the political opinions then just watch it to laugh. But try it, please.
Yaaaas another video
as soon as you said "dear white people was a good show" I was going to leave. (the show is not for me) buuuut, having actually watched the entire video, I like what you are about, and since you seem Mexican lol jk jk
I will most definitely subscribe and encourage people to check out your videos.

I love the show. I kinda got annoyed how the cop with the gun just was swiped away under the rug and we never got a good reason why he had the gun
