Well, the FW has got an issue or two admittedly.. but you have 2 options as I see it.. well, perhaps 3 options: 1: Bin it (waste of money & effort so far) 2: Put it away for a good few months, come back & you'll find you have worked out how to deal with it (Works most of the time) or 3: Make a crashed Fw diorama (At least then you'll get something useful out of it!) Luckily you haven't yet decalled it so can use the decals for another Fw as you obviuously like the colour scheme. :) Good luck! :)
thank you :) i will leave the fw190 as it is, it is a shame but i really don´t feel like getting annoyed even more by this thing! next aircraft will be great! i have so much 1/72 scale figures i never managed to use, so building small dioramas of different historic battles and so on seems the best solution to finally make something nice with these figures.
thanks :) well i couldn´t show a model with swastika in public, like a exhibition or something like that. i can keep it at home thats fine. i´m looking forward to paint these figures, they are nicely detailed.
thank you very much! i want to make my videos as easygoing as possible and i´m not really eloquent so my conversational style is rather informal. well, my audience mainly consists of people i call friends so this is just the right style :)
I enjoy your videos. First, you have a gift for creating models. Second, you have an interesting conversational style that makes it seem as if you are talking to one friend. You don't need to apologize for the FW 190. I'm sure you will work on it until it meets your usual high standards. It is silly that they edit the swastikas in German releases. They were what they were.
the kit have a lot of nice details but also some serious flaws...i will see what i can do with it :) the butcherbird is fucked up, i actually don´t know whether i want to finish it or not...really frustrating! i will start a different model instead to find some distraction. it will be italeri´s stuka in 1/48 scale, hopefully no horrible fitting issiues of the parts!
it is getting better these days, my last bf110 and bf109 had the swastika included, they were split in halfes so it can be sold here. a quite clever solution, as i said in the video it is quite annoying that not all manufacturers don´t find clever solutions for this. well, it is supposed to be a model and not intended to offend others or to glorify the regime, i really don´t get it why it is banned.
very nice review!! I agree with you 100% on the decals being censored , you gotta understand that swastikas are typically associated with a negative subject, so i'ts a complicated issue. But, like it or not, it was part of history. In that scale though, I wouldn't even care about that. The FW looks fine, I would just finish it and move on to the next one. Thanks for posting my friend, Take care.
Great review, but I think I'll give this kit a miss, as there's too many small parts & fiddly bits!! :) Then again, the already 'assembled' tracks is a big plus, even if they look inaccurate. I guess whatever option you use, by the time you have covered them in mud any wrong shapes won't show too much anyway. :) Shame about the sink marks, but again you can work your way around them as well.. figures looks great though, I'm sure you'll find use for them elsewhere!! :) Nice 'Butcherbird' et.c! :)
thanks louis! i know it is a sensitve subject but i don´t really care whether people are offended by these symbols or not, my channel is definately not the place for such people. actually the censored decals don´t contain a swastika as far as i could see that, it is some sort of SS division insignia which only people know who are familiar with the subject. well, law is law, but i´m some sort of annoyed by this paternalism. i want to get the same decals as everybody else on this planet!
Very comprehensive review. Model looks well detailed for such a small kit. Shame about the decals and sink marks. I'm guessing that the all-in-one running gear is designed for wargamers? I'm sure you'll find a way to sort the FW190 out, mark it up as experience for the next aircraft you build : ) Looking forward to those 2 dioramas, especially the Battle of Guagamela, which is one of my favourite ancient battles!
I think you could use one of the assembled trackage, and the other where damage is displayed...perhaps that is what was considered. Magnesia could be in Anatolian part of Turkey - google time :)
Nice vid. By the way, the final figures (Republican Roman), are they strong enough not to break? I've bought several Zvezda sets and I noticed the plastic is not that strong. Are those better or did you apply a coat of paint?
Try and bend some Caesar figures, Orion, Airfix, etc and then try to do the same to a Zvezda one. And the same happens with Imex, some Waterloo, Revell and Italeri, etc. Its the type of plastic they use, it has no memory.
well if you think that the plastic of zvezda figures is not strong you will think the plastic of caesar miniatures figures is almost fluid. the stronger the plastic the better the paint will adhere.
Well, I certainly do not glorify war by any kind, or what the Germans or the Allies did during WWII (nobody's perfect) or the technology behind the weapons designed to kill and maim.. that's not why I'm building models.. and I guess that goes for most of us! I just want them to be reasonably accurate, even if I'm no rivet counting fanatic.. and thus in my opinion Luftwaffe planes SHOULD have swastikas.. that's how they looked! I guess the Luftwaffe was the least nazified organisation anyway..
what do think man? german government banned these symbols as anticonstitutional. exceptions are art and educational work, model building is not officially accepted as one of these two categories, which is obviously weird. well law is law and the idea behind it isn´t bad at all.
That was a good review. I'm looking forward to see you build and finish this model.
patience is a virtue man! the subs are available now.

thanks! the kit looks interesting, to get rid of the flaws is a challenge but i think it is doable.
great :) i think it is a rather new kit, i wasn´t aware of these plastic kits from caesar.
Thank you i haev always wanted to see this kit out of the box thank you

no problem sir :) i sort of missed you but i suspected you were very busy as i am right now.
Nice review, looks like a complicated kit, but a very nice one.
I haven't stopped supporting your channel bro, sorry for the absence. I don't have the time I once did.

i think i will keep it, just in case :) thanks for your advice!

Will we see a video about building that Focke-Wulf FW-190 and the halftrak?
for sure!

about the focke wulf definately not, about the halftrack maybe. i decide that sponaneously.
I think you could use one of the assembled trackage, and the other where damage is displayed...perhaps that is what was considered. Magnesia could be in Anatolian part of Turkey - google time :)
i don´t think the tamiya pak 40 crew would help, because these are 1/35 scale and this kit here is 1/72 scale.
Yes, Some even come broken out of the box.
i like both, but usually i build 1/35 scale.
Nice vid. By the way, the final figures (Republican Roman), are they strong enough not to break? I've bought several Zvezda sets and I noticed the plastic is not that strong. Are those better or did you apply a coat of paint?

i have no clue why, never happend to me.
what scale do you prefer 1/72 or 1/35?
Why did they censore the symbols? Any way, I'll wait some new aircraft from ya'! :))
why no subtitles?

zvezda figures break easily? well thats just your opinion.
what do think man? german government banned these symbols as anticonstitutional. exceptions are art and educational work, model building is not officially accepted as one of these two categories, which is obviously weird. well law is law and the idea behind it isn´t bad at all.
i can´t agree with that. their figures are nice indeed but not top.
I dont want to paint them, just use them in wargaming. But Zvezda figures are not that good for that purpose, they tend to break easily.
those figures fails alot... i should replace them with some tamiya pak 40 kits crew. or other gun crew.
have fun building.
oh ... stupid me
Goverment smells...
