I have a picture pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me and we're laughing, we're loving it all
Look at our life now, we're tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears and we cry until dawn
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start

I miss the 80s
I was 12 when this song was released in North America. I’m still enjoying it in 2024. A more happy, undeveloped time. The 80s was a fun time.
Mee tooo! I was a super super Thompson Twins fan
Nice one! ☺️Their music was an anthem for the 80s. Like a lot of bands that made music then. It really defied a decade, in a happy way. To me the 80s felt like it was summer all the time😌☀️☀️
love this song even though I'm now 72, great memories of good times!!
I'm 37, and I'd almost switch places with you to be in my thirties in the eighties. It must have been magical ❤️
Beautiful song
Yes, great memories of good times. I was in high school and the pleasure of watching this video was not as easy as it is today, we had to stay up and wait to see it, man these kids got it made today. i also think about my mom and how young she was then, but I thought she was old. Ha, ha. She's 76 today. I Love you, Mom.

Best of luck man.....
There is an atmosphere about this song that even as a kid got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up. This is a really classic track. It has stood the test of time.
I didn't have any hairs on the back of my neck in those days. That shows the magic of this song.
I always liked this song!
When the world made sense. Man, how good we had it back then...
Awesome comment. I completely agree!
I wholeheartedly agree with that statement.
I was broke then had it all.. now wealth means not as much/

We had the best music ever. 70s & 80s will never be matched. We had it all.
Coming back from war to discover all is lost is not having it all.

An 80s masterpiece
J'm an Italian fan 58 years old and j have a big dream for me It's criminal that a band like them isn't playing their Art anymore J'd like to suggest a maybe utopistic proposal: why all' the fans that still love them so much and we'll always do won't all make a petition a collection of signatures and send to all' of them asking to reform their fantastic band?Maybe it's a crazy idea but why we don't try and proove Them how much we still love Them j really hope someone will join my idea
@@renato8578 I'm in Mate.
I was in middle school when this came out. I heard it on the radio and made my parents sit in the car with me in the garage until it was done. The production, arrangement, songwriting -- all gorgeous. I decided at that moment I would be a professional musician and music producer. And that's what I am. I'll always be grateful to Tom Bailey and crew for that moment, and this song, in my life.
Amazing moment… sometimes that’s all it takes 😊❤
Just want to say that I subscribed to your channel just because of your antidote
Was in middle school, too, when it came out. Remember listening to it on my portable cassette player.
I mean it's ok, wouldn't say its near the best of the 80s
I hope u have listened 2 Japan & there songs, especially the album tin drum, will blow ure socks of, u will not b dissappointed, the production, arrangement, the togetherness in harmony is perfection
Im 50, in 1984 we drove from Portsmouth RI to Kings Dominion Va and we were listening to TT in the car and to our amazement, they were performing at the park when we arrived .. True Story ❤❤
Meant to be!
That's so cool! What an awesome memory to cherish!
@@hristoforlupescu8573 it was!!! My late mom played that cassette till it broke lol
70s through to the 90s never to be beaten for music,
I'm 71 but 33 in the head .
We all 33 round here brother.
The sixties were good also!
correct it ended more or less when MJ was done.
60's,70's, 80 & 90's fantastic 👏 😊
40 years later … this tune doesn’t miss a beat!
I was a teen in the 80's....full time, this song takes me back in a second, then I remember my entire family , Mom was alive, Dad was the super hero, grands were there, brother and sister were there too, the friends in high school, the pals in the hood, the best time to fall in love and be a freaking teen.....God Thanks again for my time as a teen in the 80's.
I have the same feelings mate.
You described me … or stole my thoughts lol 😂 but I totally agree with you,
That! My whole family was here and I didn't know what it was like to live without them. Today, I smile but I'm truly hurt and sad. I miss them so much. They should be here to see the new members of the family, be here to see where I am as an adult, and laugh with me.
I can so relate!😊
Me too...nothing like it, we ruled the world.
The music today will never compare to the 80s.❤
Damned right! How many songs written today could ever be regarded as a classic?
WAP is definitely a classic. For different reasons though. . .
There's no more creativity in music anymore. It's always the same. The voices all sound the same and just can't capture the magic of the decades of old. Though contradictory to that statement there are a lot of amazing synth wave of today I discovered a lot of them through this retro wave wallpapers app on my phone that plays retro style synthwave music, my all time favorite would be this song called Still Haunting Me by Magic Dance. I highly recommend it, it needs to be heard. But in general the standard popular music is today just has no magic anymore.
I doubt it cuz I never heard of it and I heard all songs that are classic.@@DazmoTube
@@thethunderbird87 There is as much great music today as ever. You forgot or never heard the less popular songs on less successful albums from decades ago -- songs that got little to no radio play. Today, you can find almost anything online if you're willing to listen.
Bring back the good old days.. 80s at its best
American culture peaked right about then.
80s music just touches the heart and soul. I love all 80s music ❤

I absolutely love this song even after all these years,I'm 60 and there will never again be a decade like the 80s. Brings back so many awesome memories. 😊😊🖤
Im Love The Music 1980
The best music and times
My uncle died last month. Every time he picked me up from soccer games, he’d blast good 80’s music. This was his favorite, and listening to it now just brings sorrow. I still can’t believe he’s gone
By celebrating his influence on you by playing songs he liked, you may find joy in that grief. Joy for his life and the ripples he cast.
I’ve lost everything but my son… I used to play this to him and dance in our back garden at our old house… he was about 3 then and that was about 10 years ago… THIS, and Starship, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now…
He was such a fat, chubby, cuddly, happy baby and, somehow, these two songs bring us together throughout all we have lost.
Side note: my friend used to play and tour with The Thompson Twins on drums!😊
When they are still in your Heart
They are never totally gone...
Great tune 80s superb decade here's to your uncle ❤
So sorry for your loss, may this song bring back good memories
No way...Holding back tears so that I can watch this. Makes me realise that time is relative. While watching this, Im a young man. The older me, remembers the younger me.

This song popped into my head the other day, out of the blue. When it came out, It struck me hard at the time, 12, clueless, and skipping along the pond of life. 39 years later, I'm blown away at how well produced, arranged, and performed it is. The 80's just crushed it, and I'm lucky to have been coming of age at the time. It sent me on an 80's journey of music.
From the comments only someone can feel how much this song is still appreciated and loved. Only love can do that 💙💙💙

Speaking as an Englishman (for indeed I am one), I don't think we should overlook the Celtic nations contribution to popular music during this period and beyond. When describing the incredible music and talent that has sprung forth from these islands, we should always use the term 'British.' Not a criticism, just an observation.

Both of us searching for some perfect world we know we'll never find
So perhaps I should leave here
Yeah, yeah, and go far away

Well, what could I say?
You know that I do and that this is just one of those games that we play
So I'll sing you a new song
Please don't cry anymore
I'll even ask your forgiveness
Though I don't know just what I'm asking it for
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa
