The way to remove some of the fishiness and the strong flavor is easy. Fine dining restaurants call it "sweetening" but it has nothing to do with sugar or sweeteners. Look it up or google it, which will take some work on your part. You will find that it works with any fish and does not ruin the flavor. My personal favorite way is to rub both sides of the fillet or inside and outside of the fish with lemon. Then take a tray with warm water and baking soda, dissolve the basking soda in the warm water. Then put the fish or fillets in the tray making sure they are submerged, and put the tray in the refrigerator for about 4 hours. The water should turn the color of a light beer, then take the fish out rinse them in cold water and season normally, then cook. I was the person who wouldn't eat fish, because of it being fishy until I learned this trick. I tried the soak it in milk, rub it with lemon, etc. and nothing worked like this does. It even makes strong flavored fish taste better. I now enjoy eating fish as much as I do fishing for them.
You two are amazing and I love the way you all explain things about different type of fish that we don't have here in my area in North Texas. We love crappie and catfish, especially flatheads.
Hey Sizzle and Puddin . Great videos and bow fishing the tilapia looks fun . We love eating the wild caught but wouldn't give 2 cents for farm raised 👍👍👍👍
The fish was being raised in S.E. Asia, to feed there people cheap, someone here saw how easy they were to raise and saw $$$$$$$$, started farming them here. Ponds flood and overflow into the rivers, and there you have it, a huge mess!!!
You guys are all awesome and I feel like you guys never need to defend yourselves against all these haters out there. If they don't want to see or watch what you provide they don't need to watch and supply there negative comments!! Love the content. Keep it up!!
Hey guys awesome videos. Speaking of the St.Johns River running north, I live in Northeast Tennessee and ironically we have a huge creek known for Rainbow Trout. It's called INDIAN CREEK and South Indian Creek runs North ,and North Indian Creek runs South. . Nothing great just a bit of trivia. Enjoy your adventures. Keep up the good work.
Chef Paul Prudhomme. Blackened Redfish magic. Mix with Mayo until orange. Add slash of lime juice and top off with a few drops of tequila. Best sauce ever for fish or chicken. So blacken your fish serve on a roll with lettuce, tomato, and that magic sauce. Enjoy! Your welcome.
I love fishing I was just down in Florida for a drone meetup back in March. I did some fishing at the Wabasso inlet and caught one Porcupine fish. Great video nice drone flying Brian.
I have that same release: trufire hardcore. Watch for the thru-bolts to come loose and make sure to adjust it to a safe click with I think 2 and 3mm Alan keys. Otherwise it will fall the dang heck apart
Darcizzle,Puddin, Show us how you Bowfish for these invasive species. Prayers sent for Darci,Brian,Conner,Megan and her husband, Erin and her baby. God bless

Awesome video! Wait untill Brian starts filming next time though Darcie. I must agree always be sure to have the right equipment. The right now made an extremely big difference. Keep Catching Guys !!!! More now fishing would be great for verity.
Here in Missouri, you are more apt to find tilapia over catfish. I like them breaded with yellow corn meal, fried, and baked with lemon pepper and butter.
Here in Southern California there is a place called The Salton Sea. It's near the border and was created when the Colorado river overflowed in 1905. It is more salty than the ocean and is loaded with tilapia. They are a different color and run smaller than the Florida brand. Every year they go through a massive die-off which can be smelled for miles around.
Had Tilapia for dinner last night. Egg wash then breaded in Zatarans Crispy Southern and fried in some vegetable oil. Then laid on a bed of rice pilaf.
Could you do more on bow fishing? I tried it in Scotland around forty years ago using a Browning Cobra 1 and a simple reel set up. More fish lived for another day than were caught. Great fun otherwise.
I ate Tilapia before and it`s not bad . I live on a big lake so I need to get me a cheap bow for this before we would Gig them off the Airboat . Enjoyed it .
I think the reason that people say they taste so gross is that they have eaten fish that was imported from southeast Asia where the water quality can be questionable at best and in many cases just found right polluted so fish from there would taste like ca ca to the point of making someone sick. But those can't be compared to fish that are caught in the wild.
My friend was flying in his boat like they were and he thought he hit a log. It turned out to be a gator which broke 1 of the prop blades off his propeller. He had to limp back home and it was getting dark. He just barely made it home. If you’re out in gator land be careful in your boat.
Most tilapia that people have tried are farm raised. Generally, farm raised fish have different taste and texture than wild caught. Also, as mentioned in the video, if the waters they live in isn't clear/clean there can be an odd taste that get into the flesh.
Holy Popeye, Batman! At 2:33 on the video brought me back 15 years ago for a dentist appointment. She needed to give me a shot of Lidocaine in my gums for a procedure.. When she did, she hit a nerve and my eye popped out just like that poor tilapia's did. LoL.... Thanks for the memories! P.S. The eye poppage was only temporary, but still!
Nice recipe try out tilapia ceviche in lemon juice and shrimp 🦐 red onion cilantro and 🥑🌶️🥒 also some tomato & tomato juice salt to your liking cocktail sauce enjoy blessings to all avocado is put at the end so it don't get mushy
Hi Darcie and how are you doing Brian? Tilapia is a good eating fish if it doesn't come out of an overcrowded drugged up fish farm. Do you know what the Tilapia's other name is in the Sea Of Galilee? St. Peter's fish.
If you're familiar with Deermeatfordinner, he did a catch, clean and cook with tilapia today. He used Meyer lemon bar mix as a batter to fry the fish. Might be good to try!
Darcie, I had the same problem, missing almost every shot until I got better equipment. I'm so glad that you finally got the stuff that fits you!

When I blacken my fish I always use Paul P. Redfish blackening seasoning. It's the best
That looked awesome!!!

Tilapia in Thai green curry is a huge hit in my house. That fish loves a spicy sauce.

Did anyone see DarciZzle and pudding get the boat stuck on a sandbar during an episode of Miami boat ramps??
That sandbar gets everyone. lol
Nope. Send the link lol
I wouldn’t launch a large boat on that ramp for anything! Guys videoing from the trees. Drunken no experience boaters...I’ll pass.
Awesome video! Wait untill Brian starts filming next time though Darcie. I must agree always be sure to have the right equipment. The right now made an extremely big difference. Keep Catching Guys !!!! More now fishing would be great for verity.
I just tried my first Tilapia here in Tennessee, and they are exceptionally good. And yes, I luv Darcie and Brian, too.

The maumee River in northwest Ohio flows north into lake erie.
Red River, North Dakota also flows North
Cool fishing, hope to meet y'all one day back in Boynton
Willamette River (Oregon) is a major river and can you guess what direction it flows?
"Head or gut?" Was *The Last Boy Scout" - one of my faves, but I have no excuse for it.
Bela pescaria, parabéns.
Nice shot!!! 🏴☠️

Awesome I'm a lefty also
You need to finish each video with Darcizzle giving Puddin an affectionate kiss on his cheek.
Darsy are you shooting open site or using pins.?
Hey Brian. Try cooking them like scallops .
Cut in chunks and use garlic butter and capers and little wine 👍👍👍

it was some kinda man made disaster...Anthony Bourdain did a show there
@@andrefecteau Your right. I believe a levy broke/overflowed.
@@fishkingify it never ceases to amaze me the huge pie in the sky projects that humans launch ...the Memphis Pyramid is an another example.

Very Beautiful 👏👏👍
There a number of rivers that flow north across North America. Red River in the US and Canada is just one example.
QUESTION I'M NOT INTO BOW FISHING , SO CAN YOU CATCH THESE FISH WITH ROD AND REEL FISHING
They are vegetation eaters. I've tried hanging grass on a hook, no luck.
You can line catch, use corn, peas or bread balls.
Have you ever thought about traveling to different areas to go fishing
I ate Tilapia before and it`s not bad . I live on a big lake so I need to get me a cheap bow for this before we would Gig them off the Airboat . Enjoyed it .
Puddin try 50/50 olive oil and coconut oil. just a little more than wetting the pan, add all spices in the last few minutes.

The St. Mary's River flows North.
You rock!!!!!!🤘🤘
Hey Pudd’n those eyebrows came out nice also brother...🤪
Those little bits probably make for good seafood / fish stock

Great shootin'! I'm jealous!!
Good shooting too. I know how hard bow fishing can be.

Do you know what the Tilapia's other name is in the Sea Of Galilee? St. Peter's fish.
Sweet
Fresh caught fish is always better than store bought because it's fresher.
My nose was turned on talapia due to a lot of it being farm raised in Southeast Asia, I would always be open to fresh wild caught.
Darcizzle is so much better with a bow
We’ll take some! (In IRC) I would only eat them from there.
It looks like you're definitely in the lower St Johns River.
Could a polarized lense filter on the camera allow viewers to see what Darcie sees?
That might be a plus for viewers, your loyal fans!
If you're familiar with Deermeatfordinner, he did a catch, clean and cook with tilapia today. He used Meyer lemon bar mix as a batter to fry the fish. Might be good to try!
Anything with lemon sounds great
Tilapia is one of my favorite fish to eat.
They make great tacos and burritos
Very cool darcizzle how is your sister doing
Do you guys bleed out your fish?
Ever considered bow hunting? Darcizzle Outdoors! lol
Tilapia has a world wide reputation of being farm raised in dirty (sometimes sewage) water. Yours were raised in pristine waters.
