The "core four" of Gacharic Spin are now music veterans. In 2009, after leaving her previous band, the bassist Koga contacted her high school classmate Hana (who is on drums in this video) about forming a new band. They added a guitarist and a vocalist and began performing in October, 2009. The next month, the guitarist left and they added Tomo-zo as the new guitarist. In early 2012, the vocalist left for health reasons and, although she would soon form another band, she would tragically pass away 3 years later. Gacharic Spin added keyboardist Reona and the band decided that Hana and Reona would share vocalist duties. These four - Koga, Hana, Tomo-zo and Reona - have been together ever since. For the next 7 years the band rocked along but, in my opinion, they struggled to find their identity as a band. The struggle ended in early 2019 when Koga heard a young 17 year old sing at a high school talent festival. This 17 year old was fairly new to singing and had never been in a band. I believe her primary interest in high school had been basketball. Koga invited her to audition and she won over the other members (primarily Hana). Angie became the new, primary vocalist, for Gacharic Spin. A month later, the band added Yuri as a drummer (she wasn't in this video), which allowed Hana to come to the front as a guitar player, although she will still play drums at times. Gacharic Spin is now a six piece and is the best incarnation of the band. Koga found lightening in the bottle with Angie, who, as you can see in the music video, is a very talented and charismatic vocalist. I kind of feel sorry for Yuri because she is fated to be overshadowed by 5 very strong, and rather quirky, personalities.
Hi guys - nicely considered first reaction to GS. What they’re capable of is basically anything - usually that would be hyperbole but in this case generally accurate 😂 That means it can be hard for many to access them as they find something they like and then the next track is quite different - but I love them for that. If you’d like something a little darker then I’d recommend Replica MV or I wish I (live) you can find both of their official channel and also have offical English subs if you’re also interested in the lyrical content. The 2 most recent singles, Let it Beat and BakuBaku are more upbeat but still quite different from Mindset and again have English subs. And if you’d like something heavier from the same musicians then perhaps checkout Doll$boxx, a side project featuring the instrumentalists here plus Fuki, the singer from Unlucky Morpheus and many other projects. Usual recommendations are Take my chance and Shout Down. Cheers!
Great band, if not the greatest. So many excellent songs to hear. Check out 'Forever' for math rock at it's best. At some time you will have to listen to their Alta Ego Doll$ Boxx, try 'Shout Down' or 'Toy Soldiers'. The Vocalist here is borrowed from 'Unlucky Morpheus' otherwise the lineup is classic G Spin

They do ger very heavy for you Lacey.. You are both bound to remember, or know Gary Glitter from the 70's. They featured twin drummers in the song ROCK & ROLL PART 1 & 2.. Can't say I have seen it since, untill I watched Timashi live by the ladies of Gacharic spin. It's a great live track and the drumming is very very cool..
