What a great film. There’s a Royal Navy mine laying vessel that sank and is lying on its side opposite my house in Lochalsh. HMS Port Napier. Sank in 1940 and the villages had to be evacuated due to fear of it going up. Lots of divers come up to have a gander around it.
HMS Vernon, now Gunwharf Quays. Surprised to see the now King Charles in some the classroom shots and stepping aboard the Ton-class HMS Bronington which he commanded (and which I think is still having efforts made to preserve her). Another brilliant vid.
i was RNVR from 1958 to 1976 REM enjoyed going to sea . even swept a wartime minefield in the North sea only me and the Skipper atop the mast ,! he said one of us had better get below ! and dont come back Smith 🤣🤣🤣
And now talk is about doing away with the MW or Muppets as we knew them, Thankfully Vernon was my only Pompey draft as a Tas Ape. Great days though, Sad to see it go.

HMS Brereton M1113. My first (and best) ship.
Anyone notice The King
Yes indeed, in a few the classroom shots and then later aboard HMS Bronington which he would later command.

@smudger4497. And they say one volunteer is worth ten pressed men! Most skippers/jimmies forget that! lolol.

'Maxton' was mine (oops pun!)
Prince Charles, who is now King! I was on a 'Ton' class sweeper, HMS Belton.
@kencast4478 He skippered Bronington M1115 for most of 1976.
