I can see a AI cruise control that drives the lorry on long motorway stretches coming out in the next few years. We have adaptive cruise control now, plus lane departure warnings. There's nothing stopping them from developing a truck to auto drive itself on long straight motorways. Then when the junction your turning off on is coming up, an alarm will sound and you take over from there. It would stop drive fatigue on long boring runs.
I agree with you about our jobs. Next stage will be we get to stay home and basically drive on our pc's like ETS2/ATS if the AI needs help or fails. Backing would be a pain doing it from our pc. We can't stick our heads out the window 😂. Unless.. like ETS2/ATS we have drone views lol. Honestly the AI didn't do bad on scripting your vlog. Little cheesy but not bad 😂😂
I wouldn't mind full autonomy on the motorway, but even now AEBS thinks the sign 25foot up is a hazard with the sun behind it . Not sure of liability if it went wrong especially when 44 tonnes can do some damage. City centre deliveries? Jobs safe Raul.
Also who's responsible in a crash? The guy who programmed the AI? The truck manufacturer? The carrier? There's way more questions than answers about AI trucking.
I dont think trucking or any kind of open road driving will be automated, especially when it comes to liability for accidents and the willingness of individuals to share the road with them. Maybe if there were rails everywhere it would be possible. Also someone away from a scene controlling a roadgoing vehicle id say is also wreckless and unethical, what regard will they have for the lives of the people if they are just playing a game.
Hey Raul ! Love the videos and thanks for all the info on the trade ... I've recently passed my class 2 license and will soon be doing my class 1 ... I'm struggling to find anywhere that doesn't require atleast 6 months experience ... would it be better to go with an agency and can you recommend any ?
elon musk utters words of comtempt that ai will replace all jobs elon musks own job depends upon himself, money on earth is power. elon musk is not about to give up his power to AI overlords. however when it comes to your job and his profits and power... thats another story this all said, HGVs should all have blind spot monitoring and reversing cameras by now
A1 will come in some shape or form but as now Robot style movements are mostly embedded tracking in the concrete or tarmac its very costly up front to install, Look at the newspaper industry s old style block printing went to computor style = one man instead of maybe ten men to do the same job , in the newsprint reel handling 1 1/2 ton per reel they now have robot darlick style machines to move and load them in the machines again no humans , or even the simple typists in office s no more clickerty click of typewriters its all on the PC nowadays and how many jobs were lost in that trade. Yes the A1 will come to transport one day but not as transport is today. The white van man days are numbered all it will take is a large company to offer consolidation of deliverys to one area from multipull companys then thats the hordes of white vans days off the roads Ahhh ! we can only dream Lol . In your lifetime Raul your job is safe.
I come from IT, my earrings as a senior technical architect were more than one can ever get driving a truck. I got fed up with it and I am transitioning to artic hauling, where it will be me, the truck, the road, (maybe some d#ck head drivers, and some upset customers eventually, but no more bla bla bla meetings and endless documentation). IT software development will be taken over by Al before anything else anyway. In the same way one day I believe we will be at home operating the self-driving lorries even in this lifetime, starting in the UK and EU. Once there were blacksmiths to make horse shoes, then tyre manufacturers and service stations were the evolution. The vehicle manufacturing is now all robotized. We will all eventually become Al's pets and like in "The Jetsons" style. Streets will have no more cars, they will become plantations harvested by drones who will feed us pets by the window bay of our tall building flats. The buildings themselves will be plantations, so there will be a lot of green everywhere, and no more CO2 emissions. Lorries will not be necessary as food will be locally planted and distributed by drones. We will all become vegetarians so no more live stock to produce food. There will be colonies like in Mars so no fear of over populating . At one point no vehicle driven will need any human supervision. That is the unescapable evolution that comes with new technologies. Imagine when Al network becomes the researcher and developer of new technologies. If human brains took us as far as building Al systems, imagine what a neural network far more intelligent and capable then us will invent. There will be no more industry, no more economy, no more money and jobs will be hobbies. The issues with human greed and evil will need to be sorted out, but I's sure Al will come up with something to sort it out. The bottom line is that one them lorries will be seen in museums only. Yet, here I am moving to the truck hauling business. I will be my fourth career so far, and maybe the shortest one. It is the one fun way I've figured out for earning at least more than half of what I used to earn in IT. Who knows what tomorrow brings me. One needs to evolve so as not to be run over by the heavy and unfathomable lapse of time.
@@ukroadgoat A very good post but as a time served (35 years on the road and now 77 years young ) retired i am not sure i would like the future you portray , as for no more bla bla bla its a sad fact you will have a boss plus and transport clerk giving you grief at every turn because all the modern transport companys are only interested in one thing and that those 18 wheels turning and earning a profit , I have met many Turnips called managers and not very impressed to say the least , choose your new company very carefully . Good luck in your quest.
"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the truck!"
So inspirational! 😃
I❤Raul. He is super gorgeous handsome man. AI can't replicate Rauls unique skills and gor sure never ever be able to match his powerful attraction.

You can actually stick your head out, using a trackIR of VR for example

AI is dangerous 😠👺
i think your safe mate AI will never replace a driver AI never told you that you would be driving a 💩truck 🤣😂🤣
Hi ,lm from Poland now l m in Netherlands like a truck driver, what You think its a good time to come to UK like driver and find job?
You can not get a visa to work in the UK as a truck driver. Even if you did, there are not a lot of jobs
Nice insights. After 20+ years of marriage I am hoping A1 replaces me as a partner...

thats another story
this all said, HGVs should all have blind spot monitoring and reversing cameras by now
The problem is if Computers take over all the jobs who is going to buy all the stuff?
In about 200 years from now. Probably 40% of the jobs will be done by Chinese made Katle 😂😂😂
Bit optimistic mate…won’t be no earth in 20 years

this isnt new or amazing. Casey Neistat did the same thing first a few months ago. be original.
Adam Kontras was the first to make a "vlog." Should all of us stop it because it was already done?
