Synopsis:
When Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) & Simran (Kajol) first met on an inter-rail holiday in Europe, it wasn't exactly Love at first sight...but when Simran is taken back to India for an arranged marriage, Love makes its presence felt.
Encouraged by his father Dharamvir (Anupam Kher - Bend it like Beckham & ER), Raj decides to fly down from London to not just win his Bride but her whole family and the blessings of her father Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri - Indiana Jones & Temple of Doom). All this while the celebrations for her wedding are in full swing.
The longest running film in Indian Cinema released on 20th October 1995 and is still showing in Mumbai (India). It won every major award in the year of release & Shah Rukh Khan shot to superstardom with this film and it defined the term "Bollywood".

Watching this 3 videos of the making of DDLJ made my heart so heavy. Though being a Tamilan, during my childhood times i was close to a Punjabi family that i grew up watching Hindi movies and listening to 90s Hindi songs all the way up to my teens. Watching all these scenes and behind the scenes and listening to the BGMs of this film brought back so much of beautiful memories of my childhood. You cant get movies or songs like these anymore. And i am glad Jatin-Lalit retained Pamela Chopra's version of Ghar Aaja Pardesi song as i loved her voice sooo much there. Thanks for that too... God bless the team.... Love all the way from Malaysia.

Gosh... These guys know how to make you cry! They can still make a film on this nostalgia trip of DDLJ and it will also be a huge hit. The DDLJ golden egg is still very much available to be milked. And the egg was created by Aditya Chopra.
I have seen this film so many times and still watch whenever possible. There will not be another DDLJ in the future. Love and miss that era.....

I owe my mom a huge deal for taking me and my siblings to the cinemas even though we could barely afford it back when i was 5 years old to watch this film on its first day of release. She was a huge SRK fan aswell and its a shame she's no longer with us to watch Dilwale this year. I know everyone wants to meet SRK from all over the world but It would be an honor if I could someday meet him and tell him how big of a fan she was of him and how much of a fan she has made me out to be. Its only befitting that he has a movie titled FAN next year and I wish him nothing but good luck for keeping us entertained over all my existence. I find a lot of similarities between myself and Adi and I too wish to make some movies in the near future. :)

DDLJ was magic at the time it came out, I would always be biased and say MPK was better but I can never decide between MPK, DDLJ and QSQT. They are all masterpieces from the top Khans, this movie did wonders for SRK and Kajol though and is the reason SRK even became a romantic hero because Salman and Amir started their careers with big classic love stories like MPK and QSQT but SRK started as obsessive lover-villain so this was really his real introduction and he has mentioned tht before. Bollywood will never be the same tho, all the actors back in the days had this innocence on their face that the newer generation lacks and love seemed more pure in classic movies.
Perhaps because there was indeed more innocence in the world? Or maybe the audience today doesn't want cinema that is merely an escape? Which one do you think is the reason?
