Dear Traffic Police.... You have a very important AND dangerous job, keeping our roads SAFE for ALL road-users. Often you have to ride at hazardous speeds just at apprehend an errant driver... like the experience you mentioned and that Maserati driver who almost killed your colleague!! So, what do you guys (and gals) think of these errant and even CRIMINAL drivers who get "sentenced" with no more than a slap on the wrist.... Few months jail, couple thousand dollars fine and few years driving ban... and thats for the more egregious drivers!??!! I know.... wtf, rite?? You risk life and limb, and these errant drivers just get knuckle raps!! One sure way to significantly reduce the number of accidents, especially involving FATALITIES and/or grievous injuries to victims, is to make a minimum 2 yr prison sentence MANDATORY for any driver who cause a road/traffic accident resulting in FATALITY and/or grievous and permanent injuries to the victim/s. Further, the criminal driver need to be PERMANENTLY BANNED, at least from driving (Class 3 and above) from our roads. Paying a couple thousand dollars fine and couple weeks, or even months, jail is nothing for these KILLER-DRIVERS. That is NOT justice.... not for the dead or permanently-disabled victim/s.
