  • What were some old Wampler prototypes that never saw the light of day? Why weren't they ever released as a new pedal to the masses? I'll dive into this an much more, including some history of Wampler and prior to that, Indyguitarist. For example, did you know we had like 10 different versions of the Plextortion distortion pedal? What about the Ecstasy pedal... what's the story on that guy? And just why did the name change? All of these questions answered and more on today's vlog.

Loved the "behind the scenes" look! Thanks! Also I personally think it says a lot that you are secure enough about your products that you don't mind showing other products on your channel. Much Respect!

Getting us excited about pedals is way better than telling us to buy them. Watching your videos has turned Wampler Pedals from "one of those fancy ones on that Pedal Show" (which I watch the same way I watch Top Gear, its entertainment but I'm not buying a Ferrari) to "next time I buy a pedal I need to include Wampler in my options".

Just gotta say. Thanks for the videos about the biz side of everything. I'm actually aspiring to start a pedal business of my own. Got parts for a run of overdrives and am currently developing a delay with some secret sauce. You're a pretty big inspiration for that. Thanks again!

I am so glad that you made yourself so accessible. I am trying to teach myself this stuff and I want to do a real good job of it. The youtube videos and podcasts are an invaluable resource to someone like me who knows very little! Thanks for doing that.

Got my first Wampler pedal (SLOstortion) 3 days ago and it's simply mindblowing through my Fender Blues DeViIlle 4x10

I had a Faux Tape echo with the old graphics. I loved the look of the early Wampler stuff.

I’ve been buying pedals since the 70’s (ya, I’m old) - your Ego pedal has taken a lot of pedals off my board. I currently use it into a Waza Dimension C & a Strymon into a stereo Marshall set up. I especially the Ego with single coils. It’s also great boosting a Silver Archer for punch. The Ego is an amazing pedal. 👍👍

Hope that orange prototype fuzz is an octave velvet that I've been dreaming of. Great video! Love to see the history and what never came to light.

I remember when I received an e-mail by you as indyguitarist offering to mod pedals back in 2003 or 2004. I wrote to you about fixing a korg processor (just thought you were some guy so manybe). You said you don't do processors yet plus I was in India. And then you wrote a book on how to make your own pedals. Years passed and I heard about you buy didn't know you were the same guy. Good going bud. I recently bought the newest pinnacle. Had to go to Holland and order it from Germany (sigh). I had to cause no one in India was selling it. Bhargavas had some but how come the good ones are not here. Anyways now I have the pinnacle and no one has in this state atleast (Assam, where you get the tea) lol. Feeling special.

Great video! I’ve got #16 of the Indyguitarist Pinnacle and it’s a very unique pedal. The two channels almost respond like the bright and dark inputs on a Marshall, and balancing the two puts out a huge sound when used together. Very different from the current version and I don’t know of another pedal that compares to it.

Great! I'm 17 and have started building guitar pedal s. I've already built a couple of fuzz faces and a tin can amp. I'm now trying to build more complicated pedals according to those schematics online. I wish to study electronics in college and try to design my own effects. I'm really inspired by you, and I wish I can be a man/diyer/guitarist like you in the future. Probably I'll not take it as a job cause in China there's simply few people playing electric guitar and most people don't trust made-in-chinas ,but I'll keep on trying in making this one of my hobbies. It's really satisfying when you successful build something and here yourself play through it! thanks for all your videos~
