World's First Homemade Electric Ripstik

- I decided I wanted to build an electric Ripstik since they are so fun to ride, but they are terribly slow uphill. I designed a custom 3D printed drivetrain and used some standard RC hobby parts to make it motorized. Razor made one of these but it looks lame :p The hope is that you guys can build your own after watching this video and printing the parts I've designed!
Parts:
-3D Printer: amzn.to/3nmuJId
-Turnigy SK3 4250 350KV Motor: amzn.to/3b7xJTe
-Upgraded ESC: amzn.to/2Zff84T
-Original ESC: Hobbyking YEP 60amp ESC
-Hobbkying Turnigy Nanotech 4S 2650mah 30C Battery
-2 Ch Transmitter/Receiver Set Option 1: amzn.to/3CaSE3r
-2 Ch Transmitter/Receiver Set Option 2: amzn.to/3b6F7hO
-Drivetrain 3D printed parts (www.thingivers...)
-5/16" Bolt as main axle
-2 x 10-24 bolts for assembly
-Belt: HTD 3M 267mm (loop length) 89T (www.vbeltguys....)
-Pulley: HTD 3M 20T (www.robotdigg....)
-Gear Ratio: 62/20 = 3.1
-3M double sided tape: amzn.to/3Ccd0JQ
-zipties!!
Also Merry Christmas :)
This is everything I have ever wanted
ALWAYS WANTED TO DO THIS!! thank you
This needs more views. Thanks for this excellent work!
Absolutely glorious. Thank you for sharing
Seeing the initial hill climb speed I can see why you upgrade to dual motors!
Would be awesome if u made more videos, continuing improving it. subbbed
could you do that on both wheels?
Yeah bro I did. Check out my other video!
....WELL if your deffinition of a "ripestick" is "a 2 wheeled caster board" ....then i beat ya to the title of "WORLDS FIRST HOMEMADE ELECTRIC RIPSTICK" by 3 years or more ;) cheers all the same! im only teasing! subscribed!
Disculpe no puede aser un video en español
Me lo dices o me lo preguntas?
Dear UA-cam people: I know this person in real life!
Yangyi Hao damn, lucky. This man is a god
good for you
Hi, can i use the same motor but a 410KV?
Sure. Yours will be a little faster!
The lkw recomendéd to elecrric skateboard should be < 300kw
Do you have an email I can contact you at?
Yes, ericinventor@gmail.com
I was inspired by this project and I am working on developing a motor mount made with a CNC machine using high strength aluminum! I am also going to design 2 small 3D printed enclosures for the VESC and battery that can be mounted to the top of the deck. I'll sell the mounts and enclosure when I am done for anyone else who wants to make this but doesn't have a CNC machine or 3D printer.
Did you ever get to making them? is there a link at all
@@adrieltorresola9580 Well, I did make the aluminum motor mount, but unfortunately I didn't have time to continue the rest of the project due to my business taking all my time. The motor mount worked great though!
Morgan Kuphal ohh alright. Yeah I’m thinking of working on a project like this, but I’ll probably have to use 3D printed parts because I can’t really utilize CNC. But thanks! I hope your business keeps going well
I'm here to present you with an award into the Esk8 hall of fame,
for services to the DIY Ripstik community.
Excellent! Add all links, please 🙏
this is so dope
I was searching for this kind of video for a long time. Cool
hahaha that waddup boys at the beginning just made me sub
Very impressive!
I used a drill for this and it ended up going 15 mph
I need cruit diagram
Please can you also upload the 3d printed file?
@@criticalencountergaming9333 check the links in the description
Did you shave down the motor shaft to get one end flat like that or am i missing something?
Yes I did! using a dremel with an abrasive cutting disk
That is awesome!!
You know that’s their is a actually a real electric ripstick from razor
Mythic Vortex yea but that one sucks it’s to bulky
can i used the SK3 4250 350KV Motor to build my skateboard electric ,
how much weight can you push with thi motor
Hey I’ve bought the 3D printed parts from you before, but I had trouble putting it together, I would like to try it again. Do you have a link where I can purchase the 3D parts, I’m having difficulty finding them this time around. Thanks
Hi Daniel, the link to the 3D printed parts for download is in the description. I have never posted these parts for sale, only for free download to be 3D printed on your own. Do you have a 3D printer? If not email me and I can help. ericinventor@gmail.com
@@ericinventor wow, I think maybe I downloaded the parts and through some 3rd party, they printed the parts for me for a fee. It was about 2 years ago, I don’t own a printer. But I would I the same, if you had a way to print them and sell/ship the parts I would love to buy them from you directly. Otherwise it may be sometime before I can make myself knowledgeable about the printing process myself lol. Let alone own my own printer.
@@dannydarko869 Send me an email with your info and what you want printed and we can work something out.
Awesome project
This is awesome.
CHRISTMAS TIME WITH RIPSTIK
Hi, nice thing you got there, I saw your post about it on ESB ! Watch the 3d printed motor mount, they're not really solid, and yours is really thin ! Also, would you mind sharing the file from 1:30 approx ... I don't really see how you fixed your pulley to the wheel
Hi Anastase. Thanks for your advice. I increase the motor mount infill to 50% so its closer to solid than most prints, but I agree it could still be much stronger. And the files are all on Thingiverse, see the link in the description. The pulley slips into the wheel rim and I glued it to the side strictly to prevent lateral movement.
You know that’s their is a actually a real electric ripstick from razor
I would buy this, too bad razor can't make a production version. So awesome!
What are you talking about, they had electric ripstiks for 2 years now..
@@badassbikerst The razor version is not as good as this one.
How much range do u get with this? and top speed? love what u did here.
I haven't really fully tested the range unfortunately. I would assume about 15-20mins runtime with 6000mah pack. Top speed about 18mph!
@@ericinventor I've hit about 17 mph on a normal ripstik which might seem a little insane but as long as you have a decent hill you can get major speed with these things they're great.
Could this motor work as a hub motor inside the wheel? plsss try it, would be a lot neater
You know that’s their is a actually a real electric ripstick from razor
There's no hub motor roller blade wheels. 🙁
@@justaglassofmilkwithintern7493 on the "real" version the back wheel is locked in place. This looks and I'm sure rides more like a real Ripstik.
@@justaglassofmilkwithintern7493 yeah except the "Real" electric ripstik sucks
You could javr used a copper plate with a thick wire which could just slide at the back instead of an ugly hanging wire
You know that’s their is a actually a real electric ripstick from razor
Yeah bro but mine is way cooler! And faster! And you can make it yourself!
This dude’s is way faster and quieter tbh
ericinventor I need to make one of these!
