STATEMENT: This video is just intended as a benign anecdote.. I have a tiny following, so didnt think it would be seen tbh. For the media to pick up on James Corden being rude to me 10 years ago is insane. Its a non story as far as Im concerned. Bosses are 'short' with staff all the time. James never told me "You're stupid" in fact, I can't remember the exact things he said... it was more a rant at me about camera positions with an element of swearing involved. It probably "felt" worse than I portray in the video, but it was certainly as bad as I say it was. In the video I'm mumbling "It's stupid", not saying he said I was stupid. I'd have walked if he had. So, Boo Hoo me. Someone was rude to me 10 years ago. So what? Well, if you have had a big celeb yell at you - it impacts you for a long time. This video is me standing up to it and citing James as an example of the bad behaviour that the industry ignores all the time. Production companies and broadcasters reward bad behavior because no-one is prepared to stand up to presenters and celebs. There was a time when the Producer had the power to hire or fire them. That's changed. Now they collude with it. The media see themselves above 'the general public'. When at the BBC, I remember researchers calling viewers 'pond life'. This culture has to be called out, doesn't it? Anyway, I decided this year to quit making TV and focus on helping new people learn what to expect from, and how to deal with the industry. That's what Fludded is about. An insiders take on everything happening in film, TV and the media (both mainstream and alternative). There will be plenty more stories about celebs in the coming months. Keep watching. 👀
Don't feel bad for calling out someone lacking basic 'Manners'. It is so easy to say 'Please' or 'Thank You'. Status and success changes nothing. An arsehole is an arsehole whether they run the show or make the coffees. 'Having a bad day...' is not an excuse. They deserve to be told this equally. TV, Films, Music, Sports... full of examples from both ends of the spectrum and bad manners is tolerated because they sell tickets/get views... :-(
I'm glad you spoke up. If only more people did. The power tripping amongst celebrities & people in positions of power can get insane. It should never be forgotten that behind our fabricated social structures that create the huge power imbalances we see between people, are fallible, flawed, & ignorant human beings, none of whom warrant the unilateral authority & power they may wield. It's all artifice, as there are no superhumans or Gods amongst us. On the contrary, we are all similarly limited, & can do little without the help of others. The sooner this is reflected in how we organise & distribute power in society, the better.
My wife and I were audience members at his show once. At the commercial breaks, the coldness that would come over him was jarring. It wasn’t that he just came out of character, it was like he absolutely hated his job. No interaction with the audience, no smiling, no eye contact. I remember leaving thinking how fake he was with his guests
@@arthurfleck6939 oh I should clarify. My wife and I weren’t fans - we won the tickets to his show, and headed down to California and made a vacation out of it. It was still fun, but he definitely soured the experience
@@heftyfunseeker9987 I’m sorry to hear that, and I hope that was the only blemish during your vacation. I often wonder how he ever got into the business.
@@arthurfleck6939 he co-wrote and co-starred in a hit sitcom in Britain called Gavin and Stacey. It had a decent cast and the co-writer Ruth Jones is brilliant. Corden played a funny but generally unlikable character which he then clung to in public life for a while being unlikable but also not that funny. Please don’t send him back to the UK as he’s not at all popular over here any more.
I didn’t mind him as an actor when he was in that film about the wannabe opera singer and Begin Again. Then he got a late night hosting gig, and I saw how arrogant he got.
Me too! He gives off an air of 'its all about me!' even when acting! I hate the thought of this arrogant prick being rude to people. No wonder he lives in la la land.
I think the most striking thing about this whole story is how sad it is that even before the producers hire a director, they warn that director about how Corden is.
Yeah, but his initial complaint about Cordon being particular about the material is a bit pitiful. Would you want to tell bad jokes on camera? And I say that as someone who thinks Cordon is completely talentless
That’s true about all forms of life. The least toughest always claims to be the toughest, he guy with the smallest dick always has the biggest etc etc…..
But he does have talent. I’ve seen him sing and dance, and he has good acting chops in drama and great comedic timing. I know nothing of his personality as I haven’t met him.
I worked in the film industry, people are VERY reluctant to say anything negative about someone who they might be working with again one day. But they will make an exception for Corden and Steven Seagal.
Lol you do realise he was an actor first and a well known actor before he did any presenting jobs it was when he turned to presenting and writing tv shows his ego went through the roof he was just character actor before that quite a good one too
@@davemccombs Not in the world of television. A TV director would only publicly say how much he hated someone if he knew that everyone else felt the same.
I'm having flashbacks to when I worked with Corden. When League of Their Own first started I was requested to work on it. When I found out Corden was presenting I turned it down. "But you love working on sport and comedies" they said. "I do but I've worked with him before and I've sworn never to work with Corden again," I said. And I never have
@goblinbollocks2838 This story seems totally made up. "It reminds me of the time I worked with him when i didn't work with him" Yea, reminds me of the time I slept with the world's hottest woman, only she was shallow so I turned her down. Yea OK then 😂
Me and my wife went to watch and ep of this show live and he was an absolute disgrace. A member of his team asked him if he wanted a bottle of water, he looked at them with a disgusted expression and said “If I wanted one I would’ve asked for one”. He also asked someone to leave the set for laughing. Vile human.
This is perhaps why he's mates with Harry and his missus?!? Harry particularly since marrying that woman who is cruel and nasty to her core. Ask her ex staff.
when his "best mate" Mathew Horne was struggling to find to work and he asked Corden for help, Corden told him to get lost and cut off all ties with him. tells you everything you need to know about the bloke.
How was Matthew Horne struggling to find work, when out of him and Corden, Matthew is the one with the talent. The reason I didn't watch 'Gavin and Stacey', was BECAUSE of James Corden's character being so rubbish. If it was just the main characters in it, then I would have probably watched it. Corden and the other writer, who cast themselves in it, ruined the show. Also, I didn't even know that Corden and whoever the woman was, actually wrote this dross, when i first saw how badly written it was.

All the stuff about James Corden aside, as a fellow Director I must say it is nice to hear someone talking unpretentiously about the job we truly do in real life. This is what it is actually like folks.
@@tonimedlen5371 So much of it is doing your job in letting others think it was their idea - that that’s what I really admire your most. It’s no use getting a piercing or death measuring contest with the star, you lose and you won’t be able to do your job if all goes well and you get the credit.
I just listened to Conan interview Zach Braff and It was so enlightening and I just admire the both of them. From the sound of things, Cordon is going to have to pull his head in big time or retire into oblivion and infamy. There is a reason we were graded on 'works well with others' on our report card as kids. I wonder what the crew from Mammals has to say.
I wish more people like you would speak out about the poor behavior. Everyone is so scared to mention names - worried it will affect their own career for naming names. @@davidjones3712With all due respect, mechanics and chefs don't rely on their personalities to do their jobs..seeing as Corden portrays himself as a man of the people type and really isn't, means the analogy would be more accurate if you said it is like a chef who can't cook or a mechanic who can't fix things
You would think, with countless people having interacted with him, ONE would have something nice to say, but if that person exists, I've never heard them.

I’m being civil and got no problem with you. it’s a trend of recreational hate. it’s the vocal minority of the internet that is comment sections and twitter feeds. it’s a tiny pocket of society that doesn’t reflect public opinion at all. most people are not so involved with the lives of celebrities. the majority watches videos but doesn’t comment or tweet. you think it’s a coincidence that 90% of all comments are toxic and hateful? now I’m not saying celebrities are angels. they are just people as you, just famous. there is saints and assholes just like in the real world. but what the vocal minority does is looking for anything even remotely putting celebrities into a bad light. There is absolutely crappy people among famous people, but just like everything in life it is not black and white. all there is allegations. people claiming things. and the minority always taking the side against the rich and famous person. this is an over correction that came with cancel culture. there is two sides to any story. but there is people that dislike someone and jump on the opportunity. I’m not a fan of corden, not my cup of tea humor wise. but the vocal minority as usual is watching a few videos made by some amateur self-proclaimed gossip channels and blindly follows the hate. now I’m not saying that’s you. and I’m not here to argue. but the hateful crucible on social media is a very, very real matter. and the same people that point fingers at one celebrity point at dozens. in corden’s case all we got is a few accusations with zero evidence. the restaurant story is the textbook picture example. the story was spread claiming he was just randomly a douche to a waiter. it was much later that the context with his wife came out. her food allergy, mistake of the restaurant, getting the order wrong multiple times which never happens at a manhatten soho restaurant like Balthazar - all this came out after. and even the fact that the person accusing him wasn’t present. and I’m sure that corden also sugarcoated his version. but fact is that youtube is a cesspool of allegations and the consensus is guilty before proven innocent. again, good and bad folks out there. but going against someone for being famous and blindly eating up anything that the fluff media throws at us is dangerous. maybe is a narcissist and a dick maybe he isn’t and this is way out of proportion. but with 100% there is not a single piece of actual evidence. and with so many others the same thing happened. things are never black and white, there is always nuance if it comes to these matters.
Twenty years ago my wife worked for a company who took care of VIPs who attended film premiers in central London.. 99.99% of those she dealt with were really nice. Some huge Hollywood stars. Only two she mentions negatively are James Corden and Simon Pegg…

I agree. She has the talent and Gavin and Stacey was down to her and not him. His fame was built on Gavin and Stacey. He has a part in the History Boys and not a huge part.
Tbf on the face of it, Stewart looked the biggest a-h there! But he probably was like that because he knew what Corden is really like from other celeb anecdotes
I worked with a guy who did a side gig as his stunt double, no lie that was an actual thing. He actually did look similar to Corden, especially body shape and head shape. Anyway, On a couple of shoots Corden was there - he’d turn up for a couple of the frontal shots and close up face shots and then the rest would be the double. My friend said he was one of the rudest most unkind people he’d ever come across. Just genuinely aggravated it seemed all the time to the point where people avoided him
As someone from the UK I grew up loving James for the creation of Gavin & Stacey, and his iconic character Smithy, he fully became a national treasure. Now though it's hard to find a single person in the world who likes him, so disappointing.
That character in Gavin and Stacey was basically a David Brent impression. Had the Office never been created, Gavin and Stacey would never have been made. Totally unoriginal rubbish.
I never got that show. It just seemed to be a dumbed down version of the Royle family. Trying too hard to show how "down to earth" folk can be really funny innit? And I already hated Cordens face, its so punchable. And the womens voices were so overacted and annoying. It was like pantomime. Patronising rubbish.
One if the nicest guys I’ve ever met fro the tv and movie world was Dave Bautista at an event in London. Was really nervous to talk to him but managed to chat with him when I could see he wasn’t engaged. Ended up chatting to him about suits and his wardrobe from spectre, he gave me his tailors details. Really lovely guy and he shook my hand and was an absolute gent.
When my cousin was a young kid he bumped into Bautista in a restaurant carpark and my Auntie said Bautista could not have been nicer to him. Spent time chatting to my cousin and made his day.
Bautista is one of the most humble and genuine people in the industry. Same goes for people like Cillian Murphy, Brendan Fraser, Kaunu Reeves, Johnny Depp, the late Robin Williams and many more. Hollywood being the disgusting industry it is it doesn't deserve these kind hearted people.
I once went to see the Tonight show with Jay Leno. I was in LA and walking down the street and they were looking for audience members. Me and two friends went out to Burbank early afternoon next day when they were filming. I was very apprehensive about the whole thing because I just thought it would be pre-staged and we'd just be mugs. I was completely wrong. Incredible experience and Jay Leno really made us feel incredible as audience. Of course, none of these shows are filmed live but the whole production is like it's live - that's how they keep the energy going. Being America, every 5-7 mins they'd pause for commercial breaks and Jay would walk down to the stage, with makeup people wrapped around him, talking directly to us like we were so important. It blew my mind and I was so glad I went. I remember the main star that night was Whoopie Goldberg. Don't remember who else. But I remember seeing this guy from start to finish who was all over the place behind camera and just directing everything. I even saw him walking home later when we all got the studio provided bus back. He was just walking down the street like he'd just finished a normal job. I later learned he was the stage producer/manager and that's what he did every night. When Leno's show was going out to millions he was in the background orchestrating it all. And at the end of the show he'd literally walk down to the Smokehouse, have beers and a steak, then go home. It made me realise how basic and fragile doing a huge TV show was, and who the most important people behind you are. As a British guy I can say I'm not sure Corden ever really got into that spirit. Americans seem to like him and I hope you can keep him there because we really don't want him back.
No one remembers those people exist until something goes wrong. It is one bad thing about the job, when you do it right no one recognizes you but the moment things go wrong everyone is an expert that can do your job better than you. I've never done any show in the hundreds let alone thousands of times but the feeling is better after a show than pretty much any other job. It is high stakes game and time works differently, lots of adrenaline and "being in the flow" but it is very rewarding even when no one says a word. Specially when it is in front of a live audience, the feeling of making lots of people laugh and cry, to feel something special.. you can get addicted to it.
@@redmen2008 Why wouldn't it be true? People work in events: celebrities go to events. My husband has worked alongside a bunch of celebrities at charity dinners etc just because he's a magician who happens to have been booked for the same event as them, by an events organiser. This person's partner probably organises those kinds of events👍🏼
The main thing to take out of this, for me, is how the director handled the situation. He seemed like a genuinely nice bloke and rather wasting time and energy challenging Cordon he just let him have his way and was comforted by the fact that he would never have to see him or work with him again. Basically don't allow people like this to bring you down or make your life more difficult.
Charles Bronson(actor not the prisoner) once said, 'Don't ever think your pay check equates to your talent' in terms of the ability of actors. Such true words..

Really enjoyed listening to this. The things I've heard about how Mr Corden behaves strikes me as the typical sort of thing you get from people who are doing a job but know they've blagged the entire thing, aren't good at it, but have had people (and themselves) for some reason tell them how good they are, when clearly they are somewhat clueless. When confronted by others doing a similar job or working with those around their particular industry who, like yourself, clearly have the knowledge and expertise, their insecurities rise up and this sort of terrible attitude and behavior comes to the fore - I assume to make themselves feel better or more powerful or whatever it is that they gain from it personally. I've dealt with similar in my own line of work, although not at this sort of level of course, but it strikes me as a similar attitude from those sort of people. I might be way off the mark, but just throwing in my two pence worth.
Corden's reaction to the joke (written for him) really adds weight to the notion that a disgruntled writer on The Late Show stitched James up by nicking a Ricky Gervais bit.
Shows what a lazy hack Corden is. Almost all comedians watch each others work religiously. They study and critique it in order to hone their own craft. It's why comedians genrally respect each other quite a bit more than you'd expect: they appreciate the work that goes into the performance, even if they don't like it. Corden isn't a comedian, so he wouldn't bother studying jokes in order to be funnier.
The TV & Film industry as you have correctly pointed out in your drop down is absolutely toxic. I worked for 6 years in high budget film and TV and the truly appalling behaviour witnessed daily not only from "talent", but Directors (talking about you Pete Travis) and Heads of Department is simply just considered by all to be part of the process and thus has to be challenged. I witnessed and also was subjected to sustained verbal eviscerations and absolutely nobody does anything about it. Due to the extremely high time and financial pressures on Production disgraceful stressy outbursts are considered just fine. Not so. I also worked with James Corden on Disney's Into The Woods and he was just absolutely appalling. This man should be black balled.
I get it, I worked in it too. Honestly, I think that some of the horror celebs I met should have been fired from the shows, but no one was brave enough to tell them to stop their fkng nonsense. Good on you for speaking out because regardless of the circumstances bad behaviour needs to be called out. Some people fail to grasp that In a working environment It's possible to be an amicable person and if necessary to give the odd bit of constructive criticism without being a prick and treating people disrespectfully. The funny thing is that these things eventually come back to bite people while others that are known for being courteous are shown a great deal more respect. You give what you get in this world.
It really is the attitude. As a host, or boss of anything, handing out criticism is the name of the game and no normal person shouldnt take it personal. But yeah guys like James enjoy that part, they enjoy putting people down so that criticism just stings differently and rubs people the wrong way.

Having worked in the film and television industry for 15 years, I can testify that these kinds of stories are not uncommon. The worst I ever saw was on a music video for some Japanese pop star (the “Madonna “ of Japan). We were filming in the snow, on a frozen lake, and it was bitterly cold. This woman treated the crew and her assistants like slaves. She had some schmuck carry her, on his back, from the warming hut to the set… because she didn’t want to get snow on her “snow boots”. Later, while the director was making some camera changes, she had the same schmuck kneel down in the snow so she could sit on him like bench. She also yelled at him for shifting around while she sat on him. Hands down, the best actor I’ve ever worked with was Harrison Ford. He spent time with the crew, asked people their names, played little pranks, and was just a generally nice guy.
@@Gar96229 He lives in Jackson Hole (he was my next door neighbor for several years). Several years ago there was a hiker who was injured in a fall in the Teton Mountains. you don't happen to remember her name or the year it was shot? i'm so curious about who this could be (anyone operating on that level of diva-ness is going to have people around her calling her the "Madonna of japan" so that doesn't exactly narrow it down)
People don't understand, lots of art based jobs, movies, sets, they are working on a budget and have time constraints. Not always easy. I met Jamie Redknapp one time too, never spoke to him, but when I left the room he shouted across and said bye, thanks for coming. Incredible. Nobody ever does that.. but he did.
Every job is working on a budget and a time restraint. The only reason why dealing with "artists" is particularly stressful if that they are narcissists.
He is, quintessentially the epitome of a PRAT, and it's amazing how he managed to have a career in Hollywood as a talk show host, he certainly bamboozled them with his "Britishness" which was in trend for a while there
I’ve never felt towards another celebrity like I feel towards Corden. The guys is the embodiment of mislgenuity, lack of charm, and a complete lack of talent. Never understood why or how he kept getting hired. You can just sense the “fake” with him. One can actually touch the insane amount of insecurity, anger and self entitlement and the fact that he does his utmost to hide it. Not to be malevolent but the fact he’s being found out recently gives me great pleasure. Get rid of him. If I don’t see him in anything yesterday it’s already too late.
Without saying too much to get myself in trouble with work, but I went to his house for let’s just say for “telecoms/satellite” reasons… Never met someone so arrogant and just cold. Seemed almost deep rooted depressed , self-hate (my mothers a therapist, I’ve familiar of the behaviours). Can’t lie I’d hate myself too if I was a c**t too…
To counter this, I fixed telephone line for Julian clarey and he was lovey. Paul Mertons wife is really lovely too. Had a some awful politicians and some lovely ones.
Sounds just like my boss. A fat, narcissistic bully. Totally fake and cold hearted. A pathological liar. Kisses the arses of those above him and is horrible to those below him, but mostly covertly. He has a very dark background (an infamous parent) which explains a lot, but doesn't excuse his behaviour. His reign is coming to an end soon.
I've heard many a negative story about James unfortunately. Definitely someone that has let a bit of stardom go to his head. Absolute diva since going to America. He's definitely learnt how to treat people like crap.
I fully understand and agree with this assessment. I've been a camera operative for years for numerous production companies. Often, the lower hanging fruit in terms of talent (5/10 quality) tend to be more difficult. That said, I've worked with some actors who were learning their craft (both young and old) who were lovely to work with due to the fact they see it as an exciting journey. Show business is all about relationships. If you're fun to be around and easy to get on with, then you'll be fine. The two best actors I've worked with in terms of attitude were Vinny Jones and Dougray Scott. Both chilled guys who take direction very well, are friendly to ALL crew and most importantly, learn their lines!!!
Funny you should say Vinnie was a nice guy. Years ago I travelled to Canada and some room mates at the hostel I stayed at in Vancouver met him at the airport. They were a couple and were struggling with their multiple bags through customs. He noticed, grabbed a bag and got his porter to grab the other ones. They chatted for awhile in the queue and he gave them a lift downtown in his limo. He regretted not being able to take them out to dinner as he was working but insisted on giving them some money to go somewhere nice without him. For a guy who was known as football's hard man they said he couldn't have been nicer or more genuine. Looking back I suppose he was there for the filming of X-Men: The Last Stand.
@@brendancskinner vinnie has always come over as a really nice man, devoted to his late wife, ive never heard anybody who has met say anything bad about him.
Legendary. Yeah Ive heard all kinds of rumours about Cordon from both inside the industry and also his interactions with the public. He is a nasty little despot, and most likely a narcistic sociopath. My favourite anecdotal story is about that time Cordon was seen on a plane being a general asshole to the passengers around him (he wasnt in first class for some reason.). It was noted that he was being specifically unpleasant to the woman sitting next to him, who was caring for a baby. The general consensus was that his behaviour was fairly disgusting. When the plane landed, him and the women carrying the child, got up, exchanged some expletive ladened unpleasantries, and left together. Turns out it was his wife and child. That kid is being raised by a guy that is abusive to his wife in front them, by a father who is abusive to everyone. @@halfpint90 I was on a forum where people were discussing their experiences meeting famous people. The guy seemed fairly legit and went into a lot of detail.
Corden thanked his Christian parents religion in a paper interview for aiding him with an alcohol problem. Shortly after he denounced the religion, which must've been awful for them. He also publically attacked Piers Bronsnan who had a gripe with him at an awards show. It turned out James tried to pinch Piers seats. It backfired in the UK as everybody agreed with Pierce and most brits had only lovely experiences to recall when meeting Piers in person.
Just a minor note here. Years ago, a friend happened to spend quite a lot of time with Pierce Brosnan when my friend worked on a movie production (with Brosnan as clearly the big star of the cast), as a driver, with his main task being picking up Pierce and delivering him to the day's set and back home, and maybe an occasional other trip. He was very impressed with Brosnan as just a lovely, very cool, humble, down to earth guy, who was certainly not the sort who expected people to bow and toss flower petals in his path, and regard the assorted people working on a project as peasant servants. They spent quite a lot of time together over the project, including things like off work time going out to a music shop with my friend (a longtime fine professional musician) to get his guidance and advice in buying a new guitar. The way it sounded from what he said about the experience on the film, driving Pierce, he treated my friend driving him like they were just a couple of dudes sharing a car to work and back every day, not as his servant. If there is some show business tempest in teapot drama with somebody having some petty squabble with Pierce Brosnan, I immediately would tend to suspect the other party is probably a first class gold plated asshole.
I have no "inz" in the industry. The only stars I have met, sober and personally remember, were TV actors at the car show in Redding, CA. This will age me...Larry Kline 'Three's Company' and Heather Locklear 'T.J. Hooker'. They were both very pleasant.
I was the sound recordist (boom and bag, fixed levels on the mixer, no staff in sound, all up to me) on a low budget narrative set in NY and I was doing my usual routine with actors I haven't yet worked with. I approach the actor, I say what I'm going to do with the mic, and then I do it once they acknowledge they understand. It gives the nervous/skittish ones an opportunity to understand my hands are about to be all over them and I'll be behind them, all around them, under their clothes, well within their space. And occasionally some would ask for privacy, and actors wearing revealing stuff like bikinis or non actor documentary subjects would ask to run the wires through sensitive areas themselves. And some experienced actors would say "Do what you need to do I'm good" very quickly and that would be that with them for the rest of the shoot, all good. I always thought it was a good way to set a tone of professionalism and respect. I never wanted to touch someone without giving them at least the briefest of warnings first. This one asshole loudly said "You know you're not supposed to talk to talent, right?" in the bitchiest tone possible. Everyone turned around, he changed the whole atmosphere on set in an instant. He created emotion where there didn't need to be any and not only threw himself off but threw off the actors near him too. I just looked at him, didn't change expression, said "ok" and mic'd him up as intended. He tried to engage with me a few more times over the rest of his scenes and I just gave him the most minimalist answers I could, with zero personality. It's what he wanted. A couple of the other actors apologised on his behalf, but I didn't really need an apology or anything. He ruined the buzz on that set for about an hour, by interrupting a very harmonious and productive atmosphere, just as you described in this video. Anyway, other work environments don't really have this two tiered system, where rogue talent create this ridiculous aura of sensitivity around themselves that everyone else has to work around while cranking out results in a high risk time sensitive environment. I've never seen it in any other industry and having done some acting myself I consider it to be complete bollocks. Winding your fucking neck in should be the first thing they demonstrate before being allowed in any union.
@@horsethief822 There's a whole world of actors out there that you've probably never heard of and I'm pretty sure this is one of them. I wouldn't name and shame even if I thought you'd recognise the name. It's not professional.
Just to throw another story on the huge pile....My girlfriend used to work at the Sky head office and actually walked past a very red faced, angry James Corden giving the security guard borderline racist abuse for not letting him through without the right pass key. He actually shouted the classic "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!"
Agree. I’ve never worked for him but his personality comes through in the show. He’d have the best guests who’d start saying interesting things and he talk right over them, stopping them & making it all about him, yet not have anything to say of value himself. His ego is over inflated to say the least.
To be fair, I’ve always had the feeling that Ruth Jones was ultimately the one responsible for the success of Gavin and Stacey. It should’ve been her that had gotten all the recognition, not James Corden. Plus, Nessa hosting would’ve been brilliant!
I cast him for a radio ad I'd written once, on the strength of his Gavin & Stacey performance. He was absolutely lovely and incredibly humble. And he did a fantastic job. It's funny how fame affects people. I've heard some horror stories since.
I was a freelance sound recordist for nearly 30 years and worked with the great and good of film and TV and in the main most people just want to get on with the job and be in a harmonious and collegiate environment, but there's always a few, whose ego's get the better of them and they turn into monsters. Unfortunately the sycophancy of the media world lets them get away with it and there will always be a Corden / Walliams / Clarkson type presenter to deal with on location.
Fame didn’t just go to his head, it travelled all the way down his body. I was wondering how he got where he is, I didn’t realise how many others couldn’t stand him either.
The very first time I saw Corden's late show, I knew he was a fake, a-hole and probably a bully, just from how he talked and acted in that episode. Years later, it's been confirmed over and over. Now, I'm no master at telling if people are jerks, so he sure made it easy for me.
I’ve heard stories about Corden, but a joke writer shouldn’t be offended at someone telling them to rewrite a joke. I think that’s actually a good sign, that he cares about the end result / product. But I’m only at 3:45 mark so we will see 😮
I saw an interview with Corden and Ruth Jones and to my astonishment they showed him berating Ruth for not contributing enough in the interview. He was so rude and abnoxious and Ruth seemed to take it - I guess she couldnt say much without looking unprofessional like Corden. He is a giant nob.
I once went to the recording of the late show in LA and the guy is vile. If you mentioned his name or waved etc you were thrown out. During the commercial breaks he would sit at his desk on his phone and they would lower the lights over his desk so you couldn’t see him. They a live music act on and he turned his back of them sat at his desk on his phone. His only interaction with the audience was with planted actors in the audience
My very first time asking for an autograph from a celebrity was from Brent Spiner. I was such a huge Trek fan, such a huge nerd, and he literally treated me like I was a dung. Happened nearly two decades ago. You let it go, move on, but it certainly is a memory you keep. I've had tons of interactions with actors since, maybe Spiner was just having a terrible day, but for me standing there in my twenties it was like being slapped and I'll never forget it.
Oh nooooo! Sorry to hear that about Brent Spiner, maybe he was having a bad day. I met Brent Spiner in 2012, and he was very witty and playful (all straight-faced, which is his sense of humor.) The only time I saw him become dismissive was when a fan was bossing him around when taking his picture, he rolled his eyes and huffed, and gave a sarcastic smile. Maybe when you met Brent, he'd already had a few difficult fans that day? 😅
I think you missed his point, James. He was demonstrating how much commitment and effort had been put into an almost finished project from a large team under a lot of pressure; for you to turn up 45mins late and tell specialist experts how to do their job
Litigation avoided 😉
Manners are free. Corden is despised globally.
Sounds like you got a lawyers letter

you don’t get what I mean dude. this will be long so don’t bother reading if you not up for it. I understand and that’s cool.

Specially when it is in front of a live audience, the feeling of making lots of people laugh and cry, to feel something special.. you can get addicted to it.
im surprised you enjoyed anything with whoopie goldberg but i suppose jay leno probably carried the show as the host

What I really want to know is, how many heard him rehearsing that joke, recognised it, yet still let him walk off the cliff?
Even Ricky Gervais guessed this himself
Shows what a lazy hack Corden is. Almost all comedians watch each others work religiously. They study and critique it in order to hone their own craft. It's why comedians genrally respect each other quite a bit more than you'd expect: they appreciate the work that goes into the performance, even if they don't like it.
Corden isn't a comedian, so he wouldn't bother studying jokes in order to be funnier.

They should have helped him with his food problem.
One of the finest James Bonds ever and he guest narrated the last full model Thomas production The Great Discovery in 2008
It’s Pierce, fyi. Piers is the guy who’s worse than Corden.
@@Thomasmemoryscentral He's my favourite. Gorgeously charming.
Who was it? Anyone we've ever heard of?

Just to throw another story on the huge pile....My girlfriend used to work at the Sky head office and actually walked past a very red faced, angry James Corden giving the security guard borderline racist abuse for not letting him through without the right pass key. He actually shouted the classic "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!"
"Yes, and that's why we have the problem" 😂
I'm the Juggernaut *****!
"You mean you've lost your memory? That's awful!"
Cordon or condom no talent no manners😅
Never heard of James Corden until he got the late night show. Geez, I miss Craig Ferguson 💔
Talk about going from the most genuinely likeable person ever in late night to the exact opposite...
The clips I've seen of Craig , absolutely hilarious his ablibbing , brilliant .
He was the best
Aye,Cordon never got the sour from Coogan…did he !
I wasn’t a fan of gavin and Stacey but nessa Easy was the most dominant of the characters there legit where people that only watched it for her
I cast him for a radio ad I'd written once, on the strength of his Gavin & Stacey performance. He was absolutely lovely and incredibly humble. And he did a fantastic job. It's funny how fame affects people. I've heard some horror stories since.
Yeah, I'm sure he didn't behave this badly on the set of Teachers. He's a learned arsehole.
That's nice
of course you did
Hi James
I was a freelance sound recordist for nearly 30 years and worked with the great and good of film and TV and in the main most people just want to get on with the job and be in a harmonious and collegiate environment, but there's always a few, whose ego's get the better of them and they turn into monsters. Unfortunately the sycophancy of the media world lets them get away with it and there will always be a Corden / Walliams / Clarkson type presenter to deal with on location.
Is David Williams not a nice person?
Oh no! I love him! @@edd4875
Michael McIntyre… nightmare
I went off him at that award ceremony when he started looking at his phone co presenting with Patrick Stewart.
"I was asked would I be willing to shoot James cordon, naturally I accepted"
Fame didn’t just go to his head, it travelled all the way down his body. I was wondering how he got where he is, I didn’t realise how many others couldn’t stand him either.
It’s funny tho how it’s more quiet that he was actually an original Coldplay member not bragging about that is he
The very first time I saw Corden's late show, I knew he was a fake, a-hole and probably a bully, just from how he talked and acted in that episode.
What interview was it?
I once went to the recording of the late show in LA and the guy is vile. If you mentioned his name or waved etc you were thrown out. During the commercial breaks he would sit at his desk on his phone and they would lower the lights over his desk so you couldn’t see him. They a live music act on and he turned his back of them sat at his desk on his phone. His only interaction with the audience was with planted actors in the audience
Oh my, I think that director is handsome. And then he starts slagging off James Corden and he bumped his way up to hot.
That must have hurt, after 20 years it's still in your database
@@johnstirzaker6832my eyes are stuck fully backwards now… thanks.
What did he do or say though
Oh nooooo! Sorry to hear that about Brent Spiner, maybe he was having a bad day. I met Brent Spiner in 2012, and he was very witty and playful (all straight-faced, which is his sense of humor.) The only time I saw him become dismissive was when a fan was bossing him around when taking his picture, he rolled his eyes and huffed, and gave
a sarcastic smile.
Maybe when you met Brent, he'd already had a few difficult fans that day? 😅
I really don't understand why you would feel compelled to ask a complete stranger for a signature. I would've told you to f*ck off.
I'll never get that 9:25 back. What a non-story.
Seriously. Never heard such a long build-up to so little.
👆🏻 probably wee fatty Corden’s burner account
I quite enjoyed it as I think he is a good storyteller and it gave me small window into TV life
The point was more about how James doesn't treat people then how he witnessed James being.
I think you missed his point, James. He was demonstrating how much commitment and effort had been put into an almost finished project from a large team under a lot of pressure; for you to turn up 45mins late and tell specialist experts how to do their job
