I made my youtube channel without kickstarter, the thought of starting a kickstarter to help me with it never even crossed my mind, because asking someone to hand you everything you need, and not being willing to work is a pretty good sign that you aren't really passionate about it, and that it's just more than likely a passing faze for you.
It takes some time to get the subscribers and viewers, but you gotta put in that effort, there are lots of youtube videos and it can be hard for people to find you even if it is something they might be in to.

Unlike these lazy beggers, some of us are trying, failing, learning, improving bit by bit, scraping together better computers when we can, learning to use Photoshop for thumbnails, making our own animations, music, learning to record better quality or upload in better quality (trial by error) -- and not begging for a single cent. These guys want you to throw money at them because they can't be arsed to do ANY work at all, including work that puts money in their pocket so they can BUY THE DAMN THINGS THEMSELVES? I know what I'll be doing with my money (and it definitely doesn't involve shitty kickstarters). As much as I appreciate iDubbz vids, you really shouldn't need to be told how nonsensical it would be to fund those grubbers. Despite that, would welcome seeing more of them being critically wrecked via more of these vids.

i feel lucky now in 2018 and with google fiber internet......i can record a 15 minute vid at 1440p or 4k and upload it right to youtube in less than 30 minutes without any trimming or rendering the size down
Yeah, get real, you don't need gaming rig to make UA-cam gaming videos or stream on Twitch, you need some original content or funny personality, people are geting massive mileage from Minecraft or Teraria, games with pretty low requirements, so there is more problem with imagination than with hardware equipment. You can stream straight to Twitch from PS4, and it is cheaper than from PC! Because let's be frank, who is interested into another COD or LoL channel?

Here is how you make easy money on the internet: Step 1. Buy a shitty minecraft server on some cheap host. (Like $3 per month) Step 2. Grab a few friends and spend a couple days creating a factions server. Step 3. Create a paypal and Enjin account to sell in game stuff. (Pay to win) Step 4. Advertise the server on random sites. Step 5. Shut down the server after people stop donating repeat. Result: Depending on if you actually manage the server in a descent fashion, you can make hundreds of dollars from little kids that are addicted to your server because factions is a gamemode that requires time and effort to play successfully, thus they pay money to get their items quickly.
Imma try to get in that market. Make it just slightly less shitty than the shittiest one and work on marketing to young children. Who said there were any morals!

OK. I'm gonna reveal a secret magic trick to get a kick-ass(ish) gaming rig: 1) go on ebay and look for "2U rackmount server". Shits cheap. I got a Quad-Quad core 2.7GHz Xeon with 2 500GB 7200rpm drives and a 256GB SSD w/ 32GB of ram for right about 200 dollars. Its ugly as hell, loud and old, but still fast as shit. 2) buy a half-assed decent graphics card. Something like a Zotac GT740 is another 50 dollars. You now have a pretty decent gaming rig on a dirt cheap budget, one with enough power run fraps or whatever jackass recording system in the background on the same machine.

Yeah, get real, you don't need gaming rig to make UA-cam gaming videos or stream on Twitch, you need some original content or funny personality, people are geting massive mileage from Minecraft or Teraria, games with pretty low requirements, so there is more problem with imagination than with hardware equipment. You can stream straight to Twitch from PS4, and it is cheaper than from PC! Because let's be frank, who is interested into another COD or LoL channel?

You know what really pisses me off? People make channels and do the following way too much:
1. Put HD, Gaming, XXX_ and all that generic shit in their names.
2. They all have the same fucking channel art which consists of a crappy magical smoke effect and their name on it. It's littaraly been done a million times.
3. They play games like minecraft and claim that it's original. you usaly get titles like:

Here is how you make easy money on the internet:
Step 1. Buy a shitty minecraft server on some cheap host. (Like $3 per month)
Step 2. Grab a few friends and spend a couple days creating a factions server.
Step 3. Create a paypal and Enjin account to sell in game stuff. (Pay to win)
Step 4. Advertise the server on random sites.
Step 5. Shut down the server after people stop donating repeat.
Result: Depending on if you actually manage the server in a descent fashion, you can make hundreds of dollars from little kids that are addicted to your server because factions is a gamemode that requires time and effort to play successfully, thus they pay money to get their items quickly.

OK. I'm gonna reveal a secret magic trick to get a kick-ass(ish) gaming rig:
1) go on ebay and look for "2U rackmount server". Shits cheap. I got a Quad-Quad core 2.7GHz Xeon with 2 500GB 7200rpm drives and a 256GB SSD w/ 32GB of ram for right about 200 dollars. Its ugly as hell, loud and old, but still fast as shit.
2) buy a half-assed decent graphics card. Something like a Zotac GT740 is another 50 dollars.
You now have a pretty decent gaming rig on a dirt cheap budget, one with enough power run fraps or whatever jackass recording system in the background on the same machine.
