Thank you for your clarifications on Gentsuki laws in Japan; The 2-step right turn is also known as Hook Turns. In Wisconsin (where I live) the rules are similar, except we drive in opposite lanes, so we keep to the lane farthest right, unless turning left at an intersection, in which case you are allowed to change lanes; rules for turning are the same as any motor vehicle. Other rules are identical: less than 50cc, top speed 30mph on level ground. Must be insured and registered, driver must either have a standard driver's license or a moped operators permit (for those 14 years old up to legal driving age of 16, a moped operators permit can be applied for.) Laws vary from state to state in the USA but differences are minor. We don't have the 2-step turn requirement here; it is the rider's responsibility to ensure that traffic conditions and spacing are adequate to turn safely, and they must be observant of their surroundings. I've heard that Japan is considering new rules on Gentsuki, allowing engine displacements up to 125cc, probably because no new bike/scooter comes with a displacement smaller than 110cc.
    Very informative video, thank you!

Hi po. Is there a separate driver's license for scooter or moped vehicle from automobile? How is it different when it comes to getting DL thru gaimen kirikae? I can only drive scooter and I have driver's license for it in my country. Interested about driving scooter here in japan. I hope you can help. Thank you

      Goood day!!
If you have an automobile DL here in Japan whether you got it from gaimen kirikai or you took everything from the scratch, the moped or gentsuki license is already included on it. Therefore if you have an automobile DL, you can also drive a gentsuki without getting a moped license.

@@binitakhatri5296 Mopeds can be drove on highways but not on tollways due to it's speed limit.
If you're driving on highways, stick to the 30km/h speed so that you won't have a violation.
I hope this answers your question.

      @@reitesfaye2657 hello :) i'm sorry to hear that😔.
Focus on the part where it shows the rules in driving a gentsuki(two-step right turn, tomare, fumikiri etc.), this video might help you.
Also, review a little about general rules in driving here in Japan(hand gesture, stop light etc.).
What reviewer have you been using?
