THE Real Deal , Beautiful no time lapse needed and that's with the Moon up to ! Amazing ,and Wolves as well it doesn't get much better than that ! Regards Bri.
My feet aren’t even cold! Thank you for a magnificent night under the stars and Aurora. Sounds like you were in just the place you needed to be, Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans. The music is exquisite and matches the video nicely, and I really like the extra bit with the wolf you added on at the end.
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm obsessed with auroras but live in California so I've never seen one except for hundreds of youtube videos. I appreciate the real time video. It's almost like I'm there!!
An awesome video of the Auroras! I used to work in Alaska some years back. Was able to see some spectacular sights in person... Now I'm retired and want so much to do what you've done, just travel and photograph the spectacular sights of nature and our Earth's beauty! Thanks for your video post!
Todd that was awesome!! Hope to get back down to Anchorage soon, will be going with the Sony A7II s and a adapter for my Cannon glass. Great time talking with you. John
Made me super emotional watching this - miss home! And your "WHOO!"?! Said the same thing at the same time... *grin* Thanks for posting this - awesome job! :D
Really nice clean video with beautiful back drops, loved it ! I have just got my Mk1 A7s and hope to shoot something nice in Iceland in March not got a clue about video and settings 😃
Todd, this was just over the top incredible. I have such a connection with things in the sky, and felt something I’ve never felt before while watching this. I need to be in the presence of this spectacular phenomenon before I die. Glad to see you follow your heart from the halls of Prairie all the way to Alaska. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video Todd. Thanks so much for posting this. At my age, I'll probably never be able to get to a place to see an Aurora in person. It must be amazing. Thanks again.
Really enjoyed watching Todd - excellent footage - you made me laugh when you were leaving when you shouted ' thank you' as that is exactly what I do! always treat her with respect! The best part of your footage is that you showed what it was like to be on your own in the Wild watching her beauty without the 'blue suit' army of Tourist - nice one!
Thank you 77jpw. I definitely have respect, appreciation and live for these grand moments in nature. And I have to admit I feel it a lot deeper when I'm what I call "lone wolf mode."
Stunning. I do auroral timelapses but they don't really capture the "movement" this video does. Ah, the A7S II is a wonderful piece of kit. Bravo, great captures.
Greetings Todd and thanks for this beautiful video. Are you still hunting the Aurora? I am planing to travel to Iceland. I just want to see it as I do not have a fancy camera or anything like that. I only hope I get lucky with the Aurora...
Awesome!Would you think the Nikon would give reasonable Aurora quality...I know not quite as good as a7s due to higher megapixels, which I desire for daytime stuff ... but since I would be able to output 12bit Raw prores could it still come close to the Nikon Z6 with some noise and color correction. I just want newer video technology as again the camera would be used daytime. Want to avoid buying two cameras. Sony is delaying new models for the unforseen future. I want to wait much longer to finally get a full frame. Thanks!
What an amazing, magnificent phenomenon. thank you for capturing this natural, magical wonder so beautifully. And the whoo-ing made me really smile! :) It has been my dream to see auroras for years now and i'm finally taking my parents to see it this year. I would likely be using an a7iii, which I know isn't better than the a7sii. Would greatly appreciate any settings recommendation for a dark sky (new moon) aurora watching night. Thanks heaps :)
Thank you Horiguchi. Its was around 0° F. The batteries die pretty fast so I keep 2 fully charged back-ups in my warm pocket. No lens heater. Sometimes lens gets frosty but not on this trip.

Thanks Darlisa! I had a howling good time putting this together.
Great footage
This is absolute awesome! Sony a7sII is a camera of legend, the unprecedented low light performance makes this video possible.

Night beauty.
