Start a Meet group video call in classic Hangouts

Google Meet video calls have replaced Hangouts group video calling. But don't panic!
While Meet doesn't work quite the same way as Hangouts video calls, it has some excellent features, like live captions, background replacement, 100 person calls and more.
And it's more secure - if someone outside your group Hangouts conversation gets the link, they can't just jump into the meeting. They have to ask to join.

I want it to be Classic when I'm in a Group call
But I still get it as a link
How I fix it?

It is no longer possible to do a group video call in classic Hangouts. Google is shifting from Hangouts to Meet for video calling.
If Meet isn't working for you, you might look into using Google Duo, which is more consumer oriented and mobile first.
