THANK YOU OMG I've been playing for 5 years not knowing this!
thank you!! i would suffer and just click the house wall icon :/ better late than never lol

“I’m so emotional! I’m such a weenie”
Cassidy Gamergurl that is SO true though!!!
I saw that lilsimie video
I think because Deli used appropriate sized windows for the wall heights that Kayla wouldn't mind it.
Im not new to building, I just need help!!! 😂 who else? 🤷♀️🤦🏼♀️
Beth Parker same lol
I've been playing sims for 2 years, coming 3 this Christmas. But I'm awful at building 😂
literally me 😂😂

@Jenna Lamie She also put cool kitchen stuff pack's stove in
She’s not perfect
She did also say if she puts in something you dont have, just chose something else from base game/pack you have 😂
I think she used a seasons bookshelf, also.I'm not sure. 20:04

*is that a personal attack or something?*
Thank you though, I’m terrible at building. I’m the type of person to download houses off the gallery and just use those.
I Hate Snakeu ! why ? Cuz Snakeu You Got No Jams I’m that person too !! Lol
Snap! But the gallery houses arentvquite right either so I spend ages messing around before I get something that's okish
Armyyy lmao
Same!! Buttttt I always redecorate the whole house 😂
Snakeu needs to go on an adventure with Jimin to find jams-
The table that seats 8 for a one bedroom was driving me crazy 😂
What if they just wanna throw a many parties? You don't know 🤷♀️😂
Well, to be fair, I live alone in my apartment and I have 6 seats at my table, and can also extend it and have 8 seats. Perfect for boardgame or roleplaying sessions! :) Or just parties and dinners with friends and so on! :)
She loves older sims, maybe it’s Nana’s house! Every one eats at there lol
That's when I choose round tables
also i find this helpful even though ive been building for 5 years ty

Same, lol.
Hello what did they do to you hun? Nothing well then reverse the bad energy to yourself

I'd love to learn more about the terrain tool. I struggle getting it right and making it look somewhat natural. Does anyone else have the same issue?
me too, but i think that that's also bc all the worlds in the sims 4 are so flat, so trying to add terrain can look really weird.. it's not always our fault hahaha i hope they add more variety to world types
I do, I try to make a mountain with multiple hills and it ends up looking like, well... a pointy hill.
I have the same issue! I would love to build a house around a hill but so far it's just not happening
Yup
Yes!! More terrain tool tutorials are necessary. I'm still not using them much cause they're intimidating 😂
Who knows how to build but still watched this? 😂
JamesOnTheSims not me I’m terrible at building XD😂😂
I'm not a pro but I can do pretty things, but tho I still watch haha
JamesOnTheSims me I not a pro like other people but I do cute house from time to time.
It's Deli's video I enjoy watching even if I can build
I've seen your builds! You're already a pro! 💕😂😁
Petition for deli to be a teacher at sim University 💖
I thought I knew how to build, but then you said we can press “g” to make the “squares”on the floor go away. I was like... hmm, maybe I don’t know how to build lol
LinSuen i tried to switched of for ages lol ( i was lazy to look it up)
same
I always turn the grid off lol. Gets in the way so much 😂
I learned this yesterday and realized that the loading screens on the game give you the tip of "g" for grids on and off xD

Right? I'm a decorator, not a builder. 😞
I’ve been playing since sims 2, I thought I would have figured it out by now 🤷♀️😂
@@katherinveinotte4127 Sims 3 for me, and omg did those homes look like absolute garbage. They were cookie cutter at best. And now? Don't ask me to make a decent roof. It's clearly witchcraft.
I love it when she does tutorials, even just lil tips in building vids, it feels like I’m finally learning something important ;0
any chance u could do a more detailed exterior building - shape, wall colours, windows & landscaping etc - that’s my issue when building, love building just can’t do the very best😂😂
I thought I was bad at building so I watched this, and then I realized I knew this all already! Thanks for raising my self esteem!!
hahaaha i feel you man!
Important note: Deli uses The Sims 3 mouse setting in the game!
What's the difference from The Sims 4 one? (genuinely curious. sometimes things cone off as rude so throwing that out there just in case it might have)
@@beelee88 I have been playing with sims 3 mouse controls so long that I have kind of forgotten, but if my memory serves me right, the sims four mouse controls don't allow you to zoom and pan the camera freely. I think with the sims 4, whatever the angle of the camera is, that's where it permanently stays, which is super frustrating.
@@beelee88 Sims 3 camera controls give you more control over the angles you can see from but they are also more involved because you need to use more keyboard controls and mouse clicks. I like ts3 camera for building and ts4 for gameplay or when I am playing one-handed or with my laptop trackpad. Control guides are all over the internet for each mode. Other than that the biggest difference is that you can only free-rotate (more than 8 angles) with ts3 camera.
Brandy Lee TS3 controls allow more versatility. With TS4, you can only rotate on a horizontal axis (using right click). With TS3, you can rotate on any axis (pressing down on the scroll wheel)
TS4 camera is super useful for playing on a trackpad, but if I’m playing with a mouse or building I prefer TS3 camera because you do have that more versatility.
Me: I'm not gonna learn anything from this but it's fun to watch these types of videos.
Also me: has NEVER used the alt keep for wallpaper -- shows what I know!
Thats litterally me. I dont use alt I usually use shift

Right?!
I'm a teacher and I wanted to let you know that for someone teaching without a preplanned lesson you did a great job. I have been playing Sims for years. I consider myself a decent builder and even I learnt a few tricks today. Thank you for this video. I will refer to it whenever I forget keyboard shortcuts.
JUST @ ME NEXT TIME
Seriously, I'd love an in-depth how-to on the terrain tool, because that thing baffles me.
I just wanna learn how to landscape
I completely agree with you. I’ve been playing all 4 sims versions since I was 7, I have never been able to use the terrain tool.
James did a video on terrain tool! You should watch his video

@@zyatyner307 Same.
deli being helpful, i don't even play the sims but like.............this is quality content
An additional tip: playtest (quickly play in n) your build before sharing to the gallery, especially if you used the moveobjects cheat you make sure the sim(s) can interact with every thing/area(including backyards). It can be quite frustrating to people that download if you don't. 😉
This is awesome!! I suck at building lol 😂 but I want to learn, and sometimes speed builds overwhelm me cause I can’t keep up! This is so helpful! I would love to see more of these types of building/furnishing tutorials on other types of houses, like farmhouse, contemporary, etc. it helps to have a simplified version like this!!! 💗💗
She made it look so easy. I am here wondering how many build she could make in a day.
Please do a video on that how many build you can make in 4hours or 2hours.
That would be kool to see.
Really good idea!! Especially if James made a competing vid

When you want to be a teacher but you also want to play sims...
Love you deli xoxo
It's really nice to see your whole thought process behind a build. I build a lot, and watch a lot of your builds, but sometimes really struggle to make things come together. This helps a lot!
Been building in the sims for years... still sat and watched this whole thing 😂😂 I don’t often use a lot of the shortcut keys though so a few of those I didn’t know!
Thank you miss deli , I love the homes you build they are so nice like the yellow and blue in the lounge room💚💚
Deli : Is this how you build? Let me help you...
What Deli meant: Is this how you build? You need some help...
I love the way Deli speaks. I don't even feel like watching this video now, but the way she speaks is so calm and relaxing, I just feel attached.
I have been playing the Sims since the beginning and learned all the shortcut for building. I just want to say thank you so much for slowly teaching the shortcut. I can't wait to get home from work and start redoing my houses better!
I wouldn’t call myself experienced or new by any means, I’m somewhere in the middle but I didn’t even know about some of these tips and tricks and hot keys! Thanks Deli!
Omg I got sims 4 yesterday after watching let's plays for a year and a half. This is perfect timing!!!
Thank you so much for doing this, I just started building and I didn't know how to do some things I've seen simmer youtubers do. Loved seeing how you sectioned the house and how you cluttered up the house. This was so helpful, thank you!
Omg this changed my sim building life! Thank you so much for this! I’m good at remodeling small spaces but starting from scratch is quite the challenge. The column in the kitchen was GENIUS!
I would love more vids like this bc I’m so bad at building😂 thx love you ❤️

I find deli’s voice real soothing 😂
I’ve been playing the Sims 4 for 9 months now, and omg- Deligracy I owe you so so sooo much! I just learned all these tips, shortcuts and so much more from you, thank you endlessly!! And can we appreciate the simple yet amazing build?😌✨💗
that effortlessly came out amazing. sometimes simple works out so much more than trying to go overboard and creative
Deli! Ur so close to 1 million subscribers omg I’m so proud of our deli!😭❤️
Deligracy: I know it's a little bizarre to have to armchairs facing each other....
Me: Wait
I don’t have Sims 4, but I like watching your builds Deli! It’s always interesting to see the development of build mode from over the years from Sims 1 to now.
Hope to see more lifestyle videos from you soon. Love those vids too! 😊
Forgot a outdoor bin, and a way into the backyard! :O
Ive been building from the start, however you taught me about the alt key for painting a single wall! mindblown! ty xx
Deli would have been one of those teachers that’s friends with all the girls, and all the boys have a crush.
AndreaWasHere I mean, i’m a girl and i’d have a crush ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You wanted to be a teacher? Awwww! Well you’re a great Sims teacher! This helped so much I’ve been waiting for a UA-camr to do a build tutorial like this. Thank you for all of the detail in this. Ilysm Deli!
So cute! THANK YOU! I enjoyed this video and would love additional ones like this with examples of how to use outdoor space! That's the hardest for me. Pretty sure I have downloaded all your "season's home" and made my own LP in Newcrest. It's been so much more entertaining creating backstories and having the neighbors know each other!
I've been playing sims for like 5 yrs and still learned so much from this, thank you Deli!
I recognized the lot she built on, as it is where my legacy lives now (five generations deep), and it made me emotional. Sims is a trip, right
Oh my gosh! I needed this so badly!!!

I've been playing for around ten years and I'm still learning new stuff from this video.. thanks deli ♡
Thank you so much for this! I started playing yesterday for the first time ever using the tutorial, then today I finished with the tutorial & decided to start a new household to try building. I cannot believe they don't include building in the tutorial! It took me a few hours of work & I finally got something doable, but man it really was work?! While I appreciate working to learn something all on my own, even some hints would have been nice! You've got some great tips here that I'm gonna use to make some adjustments tomorrow. Loving your channel, I subbed yesterday! 💜
This is sooooo helpful, Deli you’re better than any of my teachers in school!💞😂

Same! Except mine is light brown wood
I didn't build well when I was younger and I've only recently got back into playing the Sim's as an adult. I don't remember much and I certainly never learned the shortcuts. Pretty much all I know about building, I've learned from you, Deli!
Thank you for doing this! I've learned a lot already!
I've been trying to build decent homes and buildings in the Sims 4 for years and while I have some basic knowledge of how to build, I can never get my vision to turn out and get so frustrated. I always make it harder than it's supposed to be. I really appreciate this video, you made the build process feel so natural and simple and you just went along with what you feel. I'm motivated to build now loll. Thanks, Deli
Some stuff I knew, a lot I didn’t lol. Super helpful. Especially the short cuts. The game should play this video when you turn on the tutorial.
Edit: Oh! I love your videos, always. And I’d love a How To video on camera controls. I think you use the Sims 3 camera?bit would probably be a short video but there’s stuff I see people all the time and I’m like wut.
thanks for showing all the shortcuts, i finally know now 😭
Watching your build videos has helped me dramatically when it comes to building. Thank you so much Deli 💗
YES!! I love these build videos! I’m always looking to learn different tips and tricks to building houses and different types of houses. Keep them coming!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Both types of build videos, for beginners and through more advanced build and landscape how to stuff. You really make how to vid easy to follow Deli!
Basic tips for building I’ve learn’t
-putting plants and trees around the exterior (outside for you kids) adds more earth to your home
-putting mirrors and plants in a room makes the room feel and look bigger
-using more of a rustic color pallet for your home will make it more downloadable and beautiful 😍
-Remember you can change the lights color if you have a family playing
-use up dead space with anything!!!! Activity tables, plants, chairs, even a movie area if it’s that boring :/
-avoid using big and bright colors
deli: the first thing is figuring out what is the front of the lot
me remebering how i build my first lot in the wrong way: oh well, thats a good one
The picture of the house in the beginning... I don’t even build that well!! It’s just a box with a flat roof 😅
I just bought the Sims 4 a week ago, and this really helps! I knew some combination like strg+9, but other then that, I'm a complete newbie. Thanks for that video, I'm excited to try to build a new house with all those tips and tricks!
This is so wholesome 😭😭😭 Deli being soft and teaching us ♥️
Thanks I know how to build I just don’t go crazy! 😂 they are all simple I Learned from lilsimsie and did a fancy box I don’t do those boxes anymore I have my own method but yeah!
'Let me help you' Yes!! Educate me with your skills!
Keep doing more of these videos! Your videos are the best!!! You are so detailed when explaining. You mentioned doing a landscaping video. That would be great! Also a video about how to add extra levels to new and existing houses.
Keep up the great work Deli!
All of the years that I've been playing the Sims, and I have NEVER noticed that cog wheel! Thank you!!

Oh mah God this video is so freaking helpful not just for the beginners, this could help people who are good at cas but not the best at building, right guys? Love you Deli❤
Thanks Deli, super helpful. Love sims and building homes so showing how u do it step by step with cheats for moving objects was great.
Me: Okay, I'm gonna actually do it. I'm gonna build my own house from scratch today.

Me: *bulldozes lot and opens gallery* 🤣
This may be a silly question, but I’ve always been confused on how to freely rotate the camera while in build mode, instead of having slotted positions that the period ( . ) and comma ( , ) gives you. Deli is able to rotate the camera up and down too, go from eye level to top view ( t ) and any point in between their with ease as well. I’ve tried watching videos by Semaj and a few other sims youtubers but no luck. If anyone could help me out I’d be super grateful, or let me know if they’re having the same problem. Thanks!
Karlie C you just need to enable TS3 camera mode! 😊
you can rotate with the < and > keys
I know this is an old comment, but just in case anyone else is wondering, you need to change the camera to the Sims 3 camera, and then you can easily rotate to whatever view you want by pressing down on the scroll wheel on the mouse and moving the mouse whichever way you want. You can also use the keyboard as other commenters said
Thank you Deli! Your channel has gotten me back into sims. I've been playing sims since the first one came out when i was a kid and building was always confusing to me, but this helped so much. I appreciate you :)
Ms Deligracy, Ms Deligracy. Teach me more please 🙋♀️😍
Thanks Deli for reminding me I’m a horrible builder in the title 😂
Hopefully this video will help me
I’ve played Sims for a while, but this was still super helpful. I didn’t know about a lot of the keyboard shortcuts - thank you!

Wow, you’re such a good teacher! And like, explainer of things in an order that makes sense lol only like 7 minutes in so far but I’m quite impressed at your ability and remembrance to go into detail about so many things that I’m sure many of us find obvious. I feel like I would still miss a few things, but you really hit everything! And if you didn’t...I obvi didn’t notice :) ok going to finish the video now.
I find videos like this helpful even though I'm an intermediate builder in the sims . It helps me understand better and build better
im waiting for sims to hire you for a building tutorial
the fact that there is no way to the backyard fenced area lol.
I honestly love any of your building videos! This was great and I learned a couple things!
I found this very useful as i'm forever trying to build homes and getting the basic design of the house wrong. As i'm always changing my mind halfway through designing the rooms or the back yard! Deli you are awesome at everything (my opinion obvs). anyways thank you for making it make sense for me, so hopefully in the future i'll be able to build a house that actually works much better than any of the other times that i've tried to do in the past!
Now this is what my unskilled butt who literally has built hundreds of homes and played sims for years needed cause I still can't build for the life of me 😂
