He was 34 years old when america finally entered the war, Very brave against women and blank bullets, but as much in real life Many film stars went but not the big man
Why Wayne didn’t serve in WWII is much more complicated than just being too old to serve. Jimmy Stewart was 1 year younger and flew 20 actual combat missions in WWII. He would have flown more if he had been allowed to. Clark Gable was 7 years older and also flew several combat missions in WWII. Hitler actually put a bounty on both Gable and Stewart, so they were limited in flying combat. Ah, but Wayne and all the others I mentioned suffered from being human. Like all of us, they had their good, bad and ugly. On many occasions, Wayne went out of his way to perform acts of kindness. As with so many of us, Wayne improved with age as a human being. It’s fallacy to look only at the negative of anyone’s life and feel superior.
@@Roz-y2d As I stated, it was more complicated than that and many people want so desperately to make everything simplistic. Many celebrities like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, John Wayne and others were asked not to serve as their contributions in entertainment were seen as being more valuable. Wayne had 4 children at 34 years of age when the war began making him ineligible for the draft. Can’t be a draft dodger if you weren’t eligible. Wayne was classified as 3-A, again not a draft dodger. Wayne also had serious back problems and, in spite of this, it is documented that he did try to get into John Ford’s filming unit that came under pretty severe fire during the Battle of Midway. As I said, it’s more complex than just _____. Do the research before making snap judgments.
No. In fact his acting ability is downtalked all the time. Usually by people who are unable to see beyond this stupid prejudice. But there are many great actors, directors, film people who praise him as an actor, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Peter Bogdanovich, John Ford, Howard Hawks, many of his his co-actors... The wives all sort of look alike - like his mother??? Although it's not your fault, it is very comical for 'youngsters' discussing history with this KNOWITALL attitude due to what they were taught, someone told them in school. Living Life - is a whole different reality, that youth with NO Wisdom, can not even begin to comprehend.

I would never want to be like you! when you get some years under your belt you 'l l understand. not until then.@@Roz-y2d
I really didnt think much of him compared to the other Hollywood actors! For one, he lacked charisma n looks!
Yep, he lacked in a lot of ways. Ugh
JOHN WAYNE AND CLINT EASTWOOD
He hated Clint. He thought his westerns were too violent and even refused to work with him.
Both turned out to be assholes in real life. @@drmusic3641
@@drmusic3641 He was probably jealous of the younger more modern man. And Clint was a lot better looking.
These guys... What does a 26 year old want with a minor?!
How did his children and first wife end up
I changed my name to suit me.
John Wayne collected impressionist paintings, and ex-wives.
And didn’t understand either.
I'm sorry, how old was he when he wooed a 16 year old?😮
Ehh! Wrong right out of the gate. John Wayne's real name was Marion MICHAEL Morrison. Now, none of your vids are credible.
Marion Robert Morrison
He was 34 years old when america finally entered the war, Very brave against women and blank bullets, but as much in real life Many film stars went but not the big man
He had nice hair though 😁
He could afford to be kind when he chose to. He’s still a draft dodger. Shameful.
John was offered a chance to go to battle and film and refused.
I believe you.
pronunciations are important...
The most overrated actor of all time
And some!
(And yes, I understood your comment.)
Bad is bad
No talent speaks louder than anything

Facts
I never liked John Wayne and i hated the sound of his voice.
Did Marion fight in a real war?
No, he dodged it.
he was great, sure ,but does not seem Iike anice person !!!
CLICKBAIT
I never was a John Wayne fan. I thought he was a soft, doughy, talentless, womanizer.
He had 3 kids by the time WW2 started. That was a second reason for not going into the service.
People don’t get let off serving their country cos they are a father. What was the other excuse..., did he have a dear old mother? Give me a break.
Nonsense , you do not know what you are talking about. Tripe, hearsay, lies and speculation...
Funny about the white supremacy thing when all his wives were of Latin ancestry
The real reason John Wayne hates the Conqueror role is that's where he and all of the cast got radiation poisoning and almost all the cast died of obscure cancers.
I use my mom and dad’s last names when I perform.
