- Hi! I'm Tess, a world-renowned Permanent Makeup Artist, public speaker, and educator.
After working with thousands of clients and seeing many healed results come back, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience that has helped me better predict healed results for my clients in recent months. I created this educational video to help other artists' (and even clients), better predict healed results so that everyone can be more satisfied with their healed results!
Because of several factors like skin, technique, color, and pigment formula, every artist and every client will be unique, which means it can be difficult to predict healed results. In this video, I break down what goes into predicting a healed result for lip blush tattooing on any given client, and what it takes to achieve a certain goal for your client!
Throughout this video, I include personal tips and information that have helped me make thousands of clients happy with their healed results. Some of the things discussed in this UA-cam video are things I have not mentioned anywhere else before! There are tips in this video also to help you avoid making the wrong mistakes.

This is great information however the part about people of color having thicker skin is incredibly outdated and could potentially be harmful to future clients. You can’t see veins in the skin due the melanin not thickness. It’s unfortunately a very recent discovery but important to add so no one’s unintentionally hurting their clients
So it isn’t true clients with more melanin have thicker skin??

Hi Tess!!! This is an amazing video! When you neutralize with Bora Bora Peach do you saturate less on the lighter/pinker parts of their lips and saturate more in the dark areas?

What about people who have cold sores? Not during the appointment but maybe they have the virus? Are they still able to get their lips done? I feel like that would definitely be important to know at at the beginning of appointment.

The cool one is the one that looks more purple so it would be the one on the right

You might want to address lip filler as well since half of the models you have shown have had lip filler and this over time will make the lips naturally less pigmented and I would assume harder to create vibrant color.
Thank you! Yes, Lip filler is completely covered in this video. Filler affects skin thickness and transparency so by determining those two things (as well as natural lip color which is also covered in this video), you are better able to determine how to work with the skin, what colors to use, and how it should heal.
Also the more pale a lip is, the more easily the tattoo will show up (if working properly), depending on the Color used. This is also shown and taught in the simultaneous contrast section. All factors you are concerned of are covered in this video. Thank you for watching!
