To determine whether you should upgrade the Ring of Abundance and how to maximize your collection of red, yellow, and silver metals, let's break down the problem step by step. Understanding the Basics Adventure Energy: You have 102 units now and expect 40-50 more soon. Adventure Cost: Each adventure costs 6 energy. Metal Collection: Base Metals per Adventure: 1 metal. Ring Bonus: At level 1, the ring adds +1 metal per adventure. Ring Upgrades: Level 2: Requires 15 metals (5 silver, 5 purple, 5 teal). Level 3: Requires 30 metals (10 silver, 10 purple, 10 teal). Subsequent Levels: Increasing multiples accordingly. Current Metals: Silver: 11 Purple: 2 Teal: 2 Objective Maximize the number of red, yellow, and silver metals collected with your energy. Option 1: No Ring Upgrade Total Energy: 102 Adventures Possible: 102 / 6 = 17 adventures Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 1 ring = 2 metals Total Metals Collected: 17 adventures × 2 metals = 34 metals Distribution: Red: 6 adventures × 2 = 12 metals Yellow: 6 adventures × 2 = 12 metals Silver: 5 adventures × 2 = 10 metals Result: Collect 34 red/yellow/silver metals. Option 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 2 Step 1: Gather Metals for Upgrade Need: Purple: 5 needed - 2 have = 3 more needed Teal: 5 needed - 2 have = 3 more needed Adventures Needed: Purple: 3 metals ÷ 2 per adventure = 2 adventures Teal: Same as purple = 2 adventures Energy Used: 4 adventures × 6 energy = 24 energy Step 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 2 Remaining Energy: 102 - 24 = 78 energy Adventures Possible: 78 / 6 = 13 adventures Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 2 ring = 3 metals Total Metals Collected After Upgrade: 13 adventures × 3 metals = 39 metals Result: Collect 39 red/yellow/silver metals, 5 more than without upgrading. Option 3: Upgrade Ring to Level 3 Step 1: Gather Metals for Upgrade Need: Silver: 10 needed - (11 initial - 5 used) = 4 more needed Purple: 10 needed - 1 remaining = 9 more needed Teal: Same as purple = 9 more needed Adventures Needed: Silver: 4 metals ÷ 3 per adventure = 2 adventures Purple: 9 metals ÷ 3 per adventure = 3 adventures Teal: Same as purple = 3 adventures Energy Used: (2 + 3 + 3) adventures × 6 energy = 48 energy Total Energy for Upgrades: 24 (to level 2) + 48 = 72 energy Step 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 3 Remaining Energy: 102 - 72 = 30 energy Adventures Possible: 30 / 6 = 5 adventures Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 3 ring = 4 metals Total Metals Collected After Upgrade: 5 adventures × 4 metals = 20 metals Result: Collect 20 red/yellow/silver metals, less than previous options. Energy Including Future Gains Assuming you gain an additional 48 energy (totaling 150 energy): Option 1: 150 / 6 × 2 metals = 50 metals Option 2: Energy after upgrade: 150 - 24 = 126 energy Metals collected: 126 / 6 × 3 metals = 63 metals Option 3: Energy after upgrades: 150 - 72 = 78 energy Metals collected: 78 / 6 × 4 metals = 52 metals Conclusion with Extra Energy: Upgrading to Level 2 yields 13 more metals than not upgrading. Upgrading to Level 3 is not efficient, as the energy cost is too high for minimal gain. Recommendation Upgrade the Ring to Level 2: Energy Cost: 24 energy Net Gain: Higher metals per adventure, leading to more red, yellow, and silver metals collected overall. Avoid Upgrading Beyond Level 2: The energy required outweighs the benefits under your constraints. Optimal Strategy Use 24 energy to upgrade the ring to Level 2. Allocate remaining energy to collect red, yellow, and silver metals. Distribute adventures evenly among desired metals to maintain balance. Utilize additional energy you gain to maximize metals collected with the upgraded ring. Summary Energy to Upgrade to Level 2: 24 energy Optimal Ring Level: Level 2 Total Metals Collected (with 150 energy): 63 metals (Option 2) Most Efficient Use of Energy: Upgrading to Level 2, then focusing on desired metals. By upgrading the ring to Level 2, you maximize your metals collection efficiency without expending excessive energy on further upgrades. This strategy provides the best balance between energy investment and metals gained, aligning with your goal of collecting as many red, yellow, and silver metals as possible.
oooh thank you for the really detailed breakdown of Energy/Metal/Ring resource use, Meowington-sensei! 'hoping Misty-sensei and others could feature your commentary in their vids soon! I've already upgraded my Ring and Bowl to 3 star, unfortunately...! Based on your stated goal -- "Objective: Maximize the number of red, yellow, and silver metals collected with your energy": -- I should STOP leveling Ring now. Is it like really an "either-or" choice? Either max the Bowl for most efficient gathering of Thunder Coins or focus on metals for Boss buffs? Thank you, and I hope my question makes sense! Thank you for the hard work! ^^
@@LittleBituin I guess it depends what your goal is. My goal is to beat the highest possible boss level, with the constraint of being a free to play player. And for that I need to maximize the amount of Justice metals. But if your goal is to collect coins then it's probably different. Also remember that the amount of energy we can collect from the quests might differ! Besides I might still not have enough Justice (metals) to beat whatever level I reach, I remember last time we needed over 100 for the higher levels. P.S. ChatGPT o1-preview did all of the calculations for me ;)
@@professor_meowington waaah chatGPT-chan helped?!? Interesting...! As a semi-F2P player, I'm still hesitating to go full-Bowl for full Thunder Coins or go for the bosses... So in your case, you're going for bosses... Gochu! Hmm... so I wonder how we can verify that AI calculation though... Thanks again for sharing!
Is there a tipping point, maybe based on remaining energy, where it eventually becomes efficient to upgrade the ring to level 3? Algebra is not my strong suit :)
@@jonangelo6884 'would love to find out via maths magics, too, jonangelo-sensei! Without clear maths guidance, I just might have to use my remaining Adventure Energy to max the Bowl, try the Justice bosses and farm for Ring upgrades... Just to focus on the goal of getting Gus to Absolute Star + maximize Thunder Coins to get more tangible shop rewards. If you and other peeps could find maths wizardry chuchu from other Hero Wars creators that show more balancing acts between Bowl and Ring and Justice, that would be great! I searched for your video on the Augustus event the first, but I reckon you were busy so it got delayed a bit... And it's a surprise that all the players who posted Augustus videos were only talking about how to beat this boss or that boss, while nobody bothered to mention what you've talked about here... Smart girl
I used 20 buff at level 140. I'm new to the game and I didn't really know what I was doing, any advice on how to continue playing? And I'm wondering if the boss is reset with a new day?
First few bosses you could probably do without buffs. Generally you want to beat uber boss without as few buffs as possible. It takes A LOT of trial and error.

To determine whether you should upgrade the Ring of Abundance and how to maximize your collection of red, yellow, and silver metals, let's break down the problem step by step.
Understanding the Basics
Adventure Energy: You have 102 units now and expect 40-50 more soon.
Adventure Cost: Each adventure costs 6 energy.
Metal Collection:
Base Metals per Adventure: 1 metal.
Ring Bonus: At level 1, the ring adds +1 metal per adventure.
Ring Upgrades:
Level 2: Requires 15 metals (5 silver, 5 purple, 5 teal).
Level 3: Requires 30 metals (10 silver, 10 purple, 10 teal).
Subsequent Levels: Increasing multiples accordingly.
Current Metals:
Silver: 11
Purple: 2
Teal: 2
Objective
Maximize the number of red, yellow, and silver metals collected with your energy.
Option 1: No Ring Upgrade
Total Energy: 102
Adventures Possible: 102 / 6 = 17 adventures
Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 1 ring = 2 metals
Total Metals Collected: 17 adventures × 2 metals = 34 metals
Distribution:
Red: 6 adventures × 2 = 12 metals
Yellow: 6 adventures × 2 = 12 metals
Silver: 5 adventures × 2 = 10 metals
Result: Collect 34 red/yellow/silver metals.
Option 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 2
Step 1: Gather Metals for Upgrade
Need:
Purple: 5 needed - 2 have = 3 more needed
Teal: 5 needed - 2 have = 3 more needed
Adventures Needed:
Purple: 3 metals ÷ 2 per adventure = 2 adventures
Teal: Same as purple = 2 adventures
Energy Used: 4 adventures × 6 energy = 24 energy
Step 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 2
Remaining Energy: 102 - 24 = 78 energy
Adventures Possible: 78 / 6 = 13 adventures
Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 2 ring = 3 metals
Total Metals Collected After Upgrade: 13 adventures × 3 metals = 39 metals
Result: Collect 39 red/yellow/silver metals, 5 more than without upgrading.
Option 3: Upgrade Ring to Level 3
Step 1: Gather Metals for Upgrade
Need:
Silver: 10 needed - (11 initial - 5 used) = 4 more needed
Purple: 10 needed - 1 remaining = 9 more needed
Teal: Same as purple = 9 more needed
Adventures Needed:
Silver: 4 metals ÷ 3 per adventure = 2 adventures
Purple: 9 metals ÷ 3 per adventure = 3 adventures
Teal: Same as purple = 3 adventures
Energy Used: (2 + 3 + 3) adventures × 6 energy = 48 energy
Total Energy for Upgrades: 24 (to level 2) + 48 = 72 energy
Step 2: Upgrade Ring to Level 3
Remaining Energy: 102 - 72 = 30 energy
Adventures Possible: 30 / 6 = 5 adventures
Metals per Adventure: 1 base + 3 ring = 4 metals
Total Metals Collected After Upgrade: 5 adventures × 4 metals = 20 metals
Result: Collect 20 red/yellow/silver metals, less than previous options.
Energy Including Future Gains
Assuming you gain an additional 48 energy (totaling 150 energy):
Option 1: 150 / 6 × 2 metals = 50 metals
Option 2:
Energy after upgrade: 150 - 24 = 126 energy
Metals collected: 126 / 6 × 3 metals = 63 metals
Option 3:
Energy after upgrades: 150 - 72 = 78 energy
Metals collected: 78 / 6 × 4 metals = 52 metals
Conclusion with Extra Energy:
Upgrading to Level 2 yields 13 more metals than not upgrading.
Upgrading to Level 3 is not efficient, as the energy cost is too high for minimal gain.
Recommendation
Upgrade the Ring to Level 2:
Energy Cost: 24 energy
Net Gain: Higher metals per adventure, leading to more red, yellow, and silver metals collected overall.
Avoid Upgrading Beyond Level 2:
The energy required outweighs the benefits under your constraints.
Optimal Strategy
Use 24 energy to upgrade the ring to Level 2.
Allocate remaining energy to collect red, yellow, and silver metals.
Distribute adventures evenly among desired metals to maintain balance.
Utilize additional energy you gain to maximize metals collected with the upgraded ring.
Summary
Energy to Upgrade to Level 2: 24 energy
Optimal Ring Level: Level 2
Total Metals Collected (with 150 energy): 63 metals (Option 2)
Most Efficient Use of Energy: Upgrading to Level 2, then focusing on desired metals.
By upgrading the ring to Level 2, you maximize your metals collection efficiency without expending excessive energy on further upgrades. This strategy provides the best balance between energy investment and metals gained, aligning with your goal of collecting as many red, yellow, and silver metals as possible.
