It doesn't tbh, Because it helps to have a wide view of all keyframes of a layer(to the right). vertical scrolling is much easier than having to scroll horizontally. If you have a widescreen monitor and working on a comp that has square or vertical aspect ration/resolution, then it actually helps to have it on the right!

Does putting the timeline panel on the right side help improve work efficiency? I'm curious, thanks for the good video
