@@CrazymonkeyCrypto i am sure it will its been acting crazy I think its been because it over heats for the time being it maps just a bit and then it dosnt and I bet it just is over heating.
It's possible! But the fan will definitely help keep it cool!
I have two HDC cameras I was making $2,000 a week I kid you not. My rewards have gone to$11 to 116 dollars a week. I used to map all the white roads. Now the white roads are in small neighborhoods it takes a lot more work to find the roads that haven't been mapped. But I like the repeater idea. One thing I learned about this cryptocurrency mining Never go out and buy 40 machines.
Wow! I've heard of a few people when they were really incetivizing mapping the new roads that made a few thousand a week. That's crazy! Just like everything in crypto, early adopters of a successful project typically do best and diversify your miners!
From what I've heard, one should be sufficient with the broadcasting end (on the dash) split between the two. I only have one cam so unfortunately I can't test that scenario. You can always check in their discord: discord.com/invite/the-official-hivemapper-community-715439007764316191
@@CrazymonkeyCrypto Shouldn't the repeater on the outside be placed as close to the dashcam as possible, like right above the HDC near the top of the windshield? If Hivemapper needs the most accurate GPS positioning as possible, that would be the most logical location.
From what I've read, it's beat to put the receiver on top of the car so it can get a good gps signal. You have to have them far apart because otherwise the repeater just transmits to the receiver, and you have a broken look where it's not getting your actual GPS data
Did you see any increase in yield with this? I am struggling with a 2 star rating on mine. I have everything inside or outside the new quidelines they have in the app. I was 4 stars, then 3, then messing with it in the app now 2.
It helps with the connectivity so there aren't any gaps anymore in my data collection. However, the mount rating is something totally different. For me, my Mazda has a huge jut that is in the middle of the windshield. I moved the camera off-center but higher up, and I jumped to a 4-star almost immediately. Can always check out their discord as well for tips and advice!
@@CrazymonkeyCrypto so you went through the drive through car wash with the machines. I ask because it has adhesive strip on the antenna so I couldn’t take it off in between washes. I planned on ordering 2 as well if it can survive the drive through.
Correct. A physical car wash that interacts with your car. Not a spray only. It also has survived multiple rainstorms and haven't noticed anything. I can't double check because there's no LED, but my trace lines have all been solid
Those are SMA connectors if you didn't know. HNT/IOT hotspots use them to connect to the antennas.
I knew they used something similar, but I didn't know it was the same. Thanks for sharing!
Just placed a few orders with your links to keep my mapper functioning as best it can it’s been struggling lately so I think this will help
Appreciate you! Hopefully it helps fill in the gaps for you. It definitely did for me

What's the diff between your new and old repeaters?
The new one has a magnetic vs adhesive receiver
Nicr video. So you need a transmitter and receiver for the repeater? Thats why you connect 2 of them? Or one receiver is enough thanks.
Yep! You need both the transmitter and the receiver for this upgrade to function properly
how does the hivemapper connect to the repeater
You don't have to physically connect them. The repeater just helps enhance the signal for the dashcam
Do you plug in the usb to the dashcam itself or it’s just plug into the power for the car
Into the car. The HDC only has a USB-C plug, which I use for the fan I use to cool

So what do you do when it’s time to wash your car? That thing don’t look like it’s surviving a drive through car wash.
So far, I've left it on. It's supposedly waterproof, and I haven't had any issues with it yet! I ordered a backup just in case

There is a purely magnetic one as well that I have as my backup
