quick callout that if you hear anything you disagree with or want to correct, please do! i genuinely want to provide the most clear information of bts to anyone who is curious. As such, a couple of self-corrections as I'm monitoring: - big shoutout to reddit user baepsayed, they have an amazing thread on pre-debut bts www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/s/RQot3RknJ2 - on RM's rap i dont feel like i did justice for how far he's come as a singer, he obviously put a lot of work into his voice because it sounds amazing - on j-hope's rap, while he's talked about being the least experienced rapper, he's worked extremely hard on creating his own style and it shows! - I also forgot to mention that the studio version of Paldogangsan actually has all seven members in it! I meant to include the 2011 version with just the rap line but didn't have time to add the translated subtitles in a video I could put on the playlist. so lazily I added a lyric video that only shows the three of them. I apologize, I think that was the wrong choice in hindsight. but we will continue showcasing the seven members throughout the month! This is one of the most interesting songs BTS has put out so I recommend checking out this video for more context: ua-cam.com/video/l48zU1h00jw/v-deo.htmlsi=fqxTb5QST3IF0DdD
Keep reacting to more of the rap line both as a group and as solos there are way too many masterpieces they haven't seen yet. For the vocal line you have to show them these: Singularity, Slow dancing, Serendipity, Set me free pt. 2, Still with you, Standing next to you, The astronaut, House of cards, and The truth untold
I think it would be helpful if you gave newbies the dates of the songs. Saying Chapter 2 isn't going to mean anything yet. There is a big difference between 2013, 2018 and now. Other than that, love what you are doing. Very cool. 😘💜🫶🏻🫰🏻
i think it is important to talk about bts’s struggles specifically concerning their career bc it really gives context to their music and choices. bighit being a small company, bts being bullied heavily by k-pop fans and the media from debut even til this day, and them not having many opportunities for multiple years post debut is the basis and lyrical focus of 2/3 of the rapline’s first solo mixtapes. these things forced them to make different music, career choices, and value different things than other idols. i don’t think their “underdog story” can be separated from them. thanks for checking out bts!!
I totally get you, we'll definitely talk about that more a bit when we get into some of their full group discography just for this video I wanted to keep it lighthearted and focus on their artistry as individuals thank you for the feedback! -therese
@AudioAddictionmedia smart way of doing it with more context of the group vs solos. Important to know they didn't rise quickly to fame but it already alot of info to consume w/ the solos.
I take an expansive view because there are just so many layers/aspects to bts that it’s entirely possible to appreciate them without necessarily knowing the underdog story. For a more complete/deeper understanding though, of course it’s a critical piece. It’s a long journey to more fully understand their story (there’s so much of it!) and we all take different routes to get there. ☺️
39:55 BTS did not rise to fame early. Quite the opposite. They had to be two years into their career just to win a music show award. And then be accused by fans of the big three companies that they bought their own albums cause they could not believe an 'unimportant' group from a small company was selling well. They were taken to court for this. And won. They were constant in their growth, they grew bit by bit until they became a problem for the big Kpop companies in 2016 and then a problem for the American music industry by 2018. Their fame can only seem sudden to someone who assumes they debuted in 2018, 2019. You assume the fact that they just were seemingly 'out of nowhere' unavoidable by 2018, 2019 in the music scene that their rise to fame was quick. That is not the case. They had been continuously gaining fans since debut, in 2013. By 2015, they were in direct competition with the big 3 Kpop companies' groups. But media in Korea is heavily biased towards the big 3 Kpop companies (SM, JYP and YG) because they own them. Even nowadays, with how BTS is considered Korea's biggest act, with the economic impact they bring to their country, they are still not supported by the media. Because BTS comes from an independent label and all their support has come from their fans. They never needed the media or the Kpop industry. And they resent that because they can't make money off them. The same is with the American music industry. They are not singed to any American music label and instead only have a distribution deal with UMG. The American music industry hates that and have been putting roadblocks in their path from the beginning. Their history is very important to understanding their music. Their hardships shows the type of artist they are and the type of corrupt industry they managed to survive within and then leave completely in the dust. (if radio which is basically pay for play would not count on the billboard charts, BTS would take all those no 1's, all the time). Some of these songs are like diary entries, an understanding about the artist's circumstance is needed in order to try and comprehend where they're coming from. Their music is good, well produced. It will sound good, no matter what. But I think the lyricism and context elevates a song and it's a show of respect to try and understand an artist's mindset when writing their music.
thank you so much for all of the info! you're absolutely right, "early" wasn't the right word to use since they had quite the organic growth. I more wanted to emphasize the quick jump to fame in terms of the global music industry, as it was told in Beyond the Story: they went from being nichely popular to being a household name (at least in America) and the members themselves talked about how they felt shocked at the reception, they were working so hard they felt like they never saw it coming. I think from different perspectives it could seem a very short time (like for locals/the gp) but from fans like us it was recognition that was almost overdue. Mentioning micro celebrities isn't an accurate comparison I realize, at the time I thought it was relevant to what we see more now but I admit that wasn't a great explanation. they've definitely come a long way and we'll talk more about their history when we get into the ot7 tracks on June 13th! I hope you can make it to the chat and help keep us on the right track, seriously it's much appreciated 🙏🏽 -Therese
In 2014 Big Hit became the 6th best selling label in SK and in 2015 they were the second best. That is pretty much ONLY BTS. I found those numbers fascinating. But since they had no mainstream media backing their first win was a "surprise" and not a pleasent one for the industry.
@@marinal. boracity magazine has a graph with numbers in her "current smear campaign" vid + an article. It was shocking. I also thought their success was later.
I would recommend to watch j-hope's Lollapalooza stage, he was the first korean to be a headliner for a reason! This man is not only an amazing rapper, singer, writer...but he shines alone because this man is a performer! The best one. Its hard to find incredible male performer these days
j-hope is an incredibly unique and versatile performer. you'll never hear the same flow from him twice! i think that's why he usually gets the bridge/beat drops in bts ot7 songs. though it's true that he's known as the sunshine of the group, you can see he's a lot more layered and complex. i'm glad you started with boy meets evil because it shows his "darker" tone. his name was derived from the pandora's box of greek mythology: when all the evils were released to the world, only hope remained. he explores the different facets of his persona in his concept album jack in the box. hope you can check that project out, as well as his amazing lollapalooza performance.
J Hope as solo artist Headlined Lollapalooza Chicago and killed it and he holds the record for the most attended concert for the history of Lollapalooza over 100,000 people in attendence and more of us viewing worldwide on the live stream. It was a full on Rap all the way through.
Jhope really shocked me with his album, it's like a whole different JHOPE, a New prospect we’ve never witnessed, he let us get deep into his other sides, and it's a legendary side! A little bit darker but so gorgeous, this man is so talented and I would never get tired of speaking about how extremely significant his work is! He is the best dancer alive and guess what? You can know that he is a dancer without him dancing! By just listening to the beat you can know, he plays with the harmonies like a sip of water, walking through the melodies and making a beautiful balance, HOBI is a real musician
j-hope is so sincere to his craft. His rap has such an addictive flow. I recognize him first at Lollapalooza. Love how he can mix genres and experiment. His historic collab with J.Cole, on the street, is legendary. I recommend to give it a listen. Or MORE, real rock banger. Also new song NEURON from his album HOPE ON THE STREET, again collab with legendary hip-hop/rap artists.
MORE release has always been the most surprising and extraordinary release. I cant name a single comeback that left me in such shock and awe. Jack in The Box in general is an album that I cant even expressed words with how much I love it.
The hype leading up to it was insane, I remember the teasers and people being surprised at the makeup the band members were playing. I genuinely had a hard time believing J-Hope would outbeat Hopeworld [personally, not objectively] but wow, when it came out I was simply blown away. Then he was able to perform it at Lollapalooza which REALLY helped sell it too, I still go back to watch it sometimes.
@@SoggycereaI he got the most likes on concept pics compared to any member and MORE is still the most liked video out of every member. He might not have a lot of fan that will dedicate all their time to stream/loop his music but he has a lot of fans that will appreciate his art and listen to it with love
Jhope’s lyrics are appreciated by writers and literature critiques as he uses a lot of metaphors and homonyms with various nuances and wordplay that’s why some time is difficult to translate in English.
J-Hope int nation in music is very pure. He expresses himself in a unique way and the way he uses his voice and the adlibs is wonderful. And he is a good vocalist as well
maybe for non native korean speakers satoori rap is hard to understand but this song has academic studies and inspired many a discussion in Korea regarding satoori. BTS was ahead of their time esp in their early days. Love their music now too but I wouldn't call their old songs cringe. Lyrics were honest and refreshing and reminiscent of more 90s rap and hip hop.
Boy Meets Evil by j-hope is a different kind of music, not only a song that you can listen and then skip, it pictures the dark emotions of people, jhope aka Jung hoseok always does this in a perfect way, he is so talented with explaining negative thoughts, strong desires, deep feeling, and the darkest sides of human being, and he does this through music, not only the lyrics that make you goosebumps every time but also dancing, he is the leader of dancing and we call him THE ACE, he is the standard for dancing, it amazes me every time I watch The MV, how he portrays the meaning of the song into dancing, so you can get into the song more, he gives me chills, this is my favorite work of J-HOPE!!
Hi guys! Seeing how much you liked Wild Flower by RM I would like to recommend Snooze By Agust D. It has amazing deep lyrics, with an amazing singer featuring in a beautiful chorus. If you ever do another BTS solos videos put it on your list, you won’t regret it (there isn’t a MV but there is a very beautiful fan made video here on UA-cam with correct subtitles). Thanks for reacting and appreciating the boys 💜
They keep growing , evolving and getting better by the minute. I have a special love for the 3 rappers. So talented and so unique. So clever lyrics and flows. Loved this deep dive. So hard to pick songs but you did a great job.
I just wanted to say this, cuz i don't think any of you noticed but its not just rm that sings at the end of intro: nevermind but also jhope. He raps bfr RM. Not criticizing anyone, cuz i used to have difficulty differentiating hobi and yoongi's voices earlier too. Even for 'take two' for the part where all 3 rappers sing (just bfr Suga's verse) it was a bit of struggle to distinguish which part was sung by hobi.😊
MORE BY J-HOPE!!!!!! I can't express my excitement in words!when he first announced his album I felt my body trembling, would it be dark?Full of passion? Colorful? Sad?Idk,but I knew it will be a masterpiece! And he didn't disappoint me , Jhope has his own way of rap, he is the sassy one, the savage, and he raps in a way you feel like he is humiliating that hater so hard, and making fun of him, that's why he is the most important one in any song they make, he puts a different vibe, like a cherry on top,he's my fav
j-hope's "On the Street" with J. Cole (2023) would have been another one to listen to after More, to get yet another dimension of his style - more of a lo-fi hip hop vibe.
J-hope is the most talented man alive! u can know who is he through his music, his passion, lyrics, and his delivery! Every second you spend listening to this man’s Art is a cure for u, a way for healing, he wakes your rage and feelings, he makes u feel alive
BTS rapline is 🔥 they’re really the best in the industry. They shine as a sub unit of BTS and also as individual artist. I love their different styles but JHope’s versatility is the “it” for me. His albums are the testament to that, all uniquely different from each other , each telling a different story, showcasing his wide array of skills. I’m looking forward to what else he can show us on his future releases. Hope you can check out Hobipalooza , it was legendary 🔥 he also released 2 documentaries , JITB and just recently Hope on the street. Please react more live performances , they are amazing live.
In terms of solo work, the rap line was doing solo work and solo collabs from the beginning. RM and Suga has the most collabs with other artists, but so did j-hope, even before the debut of BTS, and continuing afterwards. Their solo albums started coming out in 2015, with RM's self-titled RM, then Suga/AgustD's AgustD in 2016, then RM's Mono and j-hopes Hope world in 2018, Suga's D-2 in 2020. Although they are titled as "Mixtapes" they are all really just self-produced solo albums that they released for free on SoundCloud. After those first 5 albums, their solo releases were in the Chapter 2 Era, starting with Jack in the Box and Indigo in 2022.
Outro; Tear really gets me due to seeing it live at Wembley Stadium what a performance. I love, I love, I love myself ha haters you should love yourself. Love all the Cyphers live performance's. uggg don't mention that man name
These three BTS rappers are ALL amazing. Their styles are very different from one another. They are outstanding as solos but even more when their together, they complement one another. They try so many genres as with the group that is why when you listen to their music whether in the solo albums or group, you'll definitely love them. They have released mixtapes and official albums. Their passion in music is a gift to the world. Even in this 2nd chapter when they are in the military, (Jin will be coming back with us on the 12th) they produce allooooottttt of songs (all 7 of them) and each one is unique and show their versatility. You may think how in the world they are in one group. 😅😍 Thanks for your reaction. 💜
I totally understand what you are saying about Lost! feeling "jarring" after the first two songs... I'd definitely say listening to that album front to back will probably help give it context and fill out the experience and make it clear kind of how it fit and what he was going for, and it created a great experience overall. But as far as your analysis of the situation, it was nice to see how almost spot-on it was and where Namjoon's head was as he really NEEDED to get @#$! off his chest.
Hobi has a line in his song Base Line (from his mixtape hopeworld) that's: 'My rap shaped to the rhythm of my body', and I think that spells out what makes his rap style so different from the other two - learning to rap by connecting it to his pre-existing dance skills. He really does ride the beat. His flow is crazy, and his great singing voice lends even more to his more melodic style. Seconding everyone else saying Brandon should check out lollapalooza! (theres a two part version with subs on youtube), though going in after checking out more of his music might be a better experience.
i really appreciate nuanced and informed bts deep dives and discoveries lead by ppl who really know the boys and also the newcomers!😭😭😭 this was so wonderful to watch thank you!!
Suga had an accident during his delivery job when he was a trainee. His parents couldn't afford to pay for his school. His shoulder got dislocated, but he didn't tell BigHit because he was afraid he would get kicked out. After BH found out, they paid for his college. He didn't have multiple surgery. He was putting the surgery off until he couldn't handle the pain anymore and had surgery in Nov 2020.
Yes, his shoulder was crushed. He lied about it, for various reasons, but the truth came out slowly over the years. Even his BTS brothers didn't know. He said he fell down some stairs and downplayed the severity of his injuries and hid his pain. We knew he was grumpy and tired and went from break dancing with j-hope for fun as a trainee, to avoiding dance, but we didn't know why for years.
Hobipalooza is fire than JITB IS BOMm and Hope world is tsunami of emotions. Must watch On The Street with JCole. Hobi's documentary JHOPE IN THE BOX is one of best documentary on Disney+ and recently released doc series in amezon and album HOPE ON THE STREET is chefs kiss. Just watch it you will surely gonna enjoy it. ❤
So glad to have found this. Kpop conversations are often frustrating and lacking in nuance for those of us who came in from the mainstream and are often older with more experience in the real world and other genre of music and other forms of artistic expressions. So it is always a relieved being able to find a group of people who can just talk and appreciate music. New subscriber here. I’ll check you guys out on Twitch too.
We're totally with you, kpop is enjoyed by all ages but tends to be talked about most by younger people. There's nothing wrong with it, I think it's fantastic and shows the long lifespan of the industry! But it can also be hard to engage with for older fans. I hope we can make a safe space for the diverse fandoms that exist online. -therese
Thank you, this is a great reaction! Very fun and I love the way you're structuring it! ARMY can be intense but I think there's so many of us more quiet types enjoying and bopping along
Both Youjeen a new Erykah Badu on RMs album INDIGO are older artists who are known to not like to work with younger artists they do not personally know.
I didn't know that!! I noticed that whenever BTS work with new people, those people come back to work with them again. that's really telling for me that they're well liked by a lot of different people. I love them 💕 -therese
@@AudioAddictionmedia I've noticed this as well. Artists who collab with them tend to kinda fall in love with them and want to work with them repeatedly, and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Just look at Coldplay - they're basically Jin stans at this point - and Halsey, just for a start... or Psy after working closely with SUGA on "That That".
BTS has a reciprocal swap deal for collabs. One for the other artist’s release, one for BTS/member’s release. That’s why you see multiple collabs with the same artists. They also pay the Artist for colllabs, not the label. That is why Megan Thee Stallion had to go to court and fight her own label to collab with BTS.
@@NanciBK I have yet to see an zrticle where people they worked with do not praise the.. They fo not have to do that. They could just fail to comment or meaningless platitudes. However they all say they were lovely or sweet, kind or polite, etc.
Busan is not a small Town its a sea side City and 2 of members come from there they all come from quite large places but have different regional dialects and accents
@@eileencritchley4630 Which was why they tried to get the Expo, too, probably. But than everything is pretty much centered in Seoul and that is a problem. 💜💜
@@ruthfischer7615 oh my you bring up to very interesting points there but your posts are always very interesting. I often look out for your posts as you always have good points to add to the conversation or good questions.
J Hope came to BTS via his roots in Hip Hop via street dancing in fact he was the youngest member of the Street Crew Neuron. He listened to RM, Suga and their friends Battle Rapping and wanted to join in so he had a chat with Suga who gave him some pointers helped him out and he eventually starting joining in. That's how he learnt to write his own Raps and Rap.
@@Jjhisnwhshe He said himself he asked Suga for some advice. You didn't understand my comment that's ok no worries. Got a few pointers means someone giving you advice pointing you in the right direction.
@@eileencritchley4630 I dont recall him saying that ever, if you could give exact reference that would be nice :) as far as I remember he has been listening to hip-hop since he was a id because he danced to hip hop since he was in elementary school and when he joined bts trainees he already knew he was going to be in a all rap group and watched the other rappers do cyphers and naturally joined along, he said this in Burn The Stage.
@@Jjhisnwhshe Yes he's been dancing hip hop since he was a child. He was the youngest member of the Street Dance Crew 'Nureon' but he wasn't a Rapper and got in to BigHit as a Dancer. Yes and he did and he asked for some advice/pointers from Suga. He joined in quite quickly but not straight away as he'd not done it before.
This was a really cool way to introduce them! I'm always down for multiple song reactions, not common on this app. I'll make sure to tune in once again.
Thank you, all. Therese you did a great job explaining. One thing on Yoongi's scar in the trilogy... he has said it is a visual representation of the "scars" we carry around inside of ourselves, and a reminder that sometimes the pain someone has isn't on the outside to see. Also, that sometimes, the scar and pain is something we inflict on ourselves. Anyway, love the reactions and sharing. Thanks again!
You should watch the Indigo concert RM did at the Rolling Hall in Seoul in a small venue for only 200 people. Some artists featured on his album (including Youjeen) performed there. He also did Persona and Sexy Nukim. It's the best!!! It's on the Bangtantv UA-cam channel. There's even a documentary where he explains his inspiration for every song and where all the artists featured on his album talk about their collaboration.
I thought Therese did a fantastic job of introducing these three artist to some new (hopefully) up-and-coming Baby ARMYs! Ive only been an ARMY for a little under a year, but Ive really struggled in the past with the decision of which BTS/solo songs to first share with family/friends and I thought all of these were great choices. I really enjoyed this and I look forward to your next upload showcasing the Vocal Line! Ty!
2:53:25 J-HOPE is the favorite man for everybody, he always shines in BTS choreographies, interests you to repeat his part when he raps, captivates you with his delivery, and excites you whenever you see him do anything, he is so talented by every means!
#JHOPE is the best dancer alive and guess what? u can know that hes a dancer without him dancing! By just listening to the beat you can know, he plays with the harmonies like a sip of water, walking through the melodies and making a beautiful balance, HOBI is a real musician
Hey guys, I really enjoyed this video! 3hrs??? The time surprisingly flew 😅 I have two recommendations re: RM, and just for your viewing and listening pleasure! Like, just to enhance your listening experience, no pressure on filming a reaction: 1. Listen to his album Right Place, Wrong Person from Track1 to Track11, in order. "LOST!" on its own can be very confusing when watched and listened to on its own. BUT, TRUST ME!! Listening to it with the entire album makes it make so much sense!! 2. Joon's mini-concert! "RM Live In Seoul" is such a treat, he performs the songs from his album Indigo, and many of the featuring artists performed with him too.
Gracias por la reacción a la linea de rap de BTS!!! Cada uno de ellos son artistas extraordinarios, juntos es brutal. La diversidad de su música, riqueza de letras y contenido es maravillosa. 💜
Hobi’s another name is “Sunshine”. He brings happiness to everyone and he carries a smile on his face all the time. You can hear his distinct laughter when he’s with his members. JHope is my hope. ❤❤❤❤❤
No one match RM skills in Rapping, Songwriting and Composing 🔥🔥 the most talented and hardworking artist,he's the main creator of most BTS hits like BlackSwan ,Fake love , Spring Day ,Butter ,Idol..... He has more than 230 songs credits under his name ,, the band was formed around him ,please react more to his solo songs JOKE, Forever rain , Closer ,Nuts , Domodachi, Out of love ,Still life ,Winter Flower,Sexy Nukim and so many more ,each song has a different story and different emotions ❤ also be actually worked on Wild Flower for 6 years and he insisted that youjeen have to sing it( she hasn't done any new song in 10 years )because he wanted someone to Explode the emotions
I think non-Koreans need to check out Koreans reactions to Satoori Rap to understand it better. Because if you're not Korean you don't know it's so much dialect in their verses that if you're Korean but not from the parts it's hard to understand and then RM who is from just outside of Seoul never had the dialects like most of the others. I mean you can catch some of it from the lyrics but the dialects and regional expressions etc. gets lost in translation.
@@AudioAddictionmedia It's been so long since I watched the reactions but if you just search I think you'll find them... but just check them out for fun on your own if you wanna get a better feeling for what they did, how they are doing it in dialect. I think a few of the Korean reactors that were reacting 2 or more together talked about expressions from where they came from or things they thought was cool or just differences, and things like how certain dialects sounds friendly but others are more hard etc. It can be fun to watch and hear them talk about if you like stuff like that but you do absolutely not need to check it out and def no need to react to it. It just gives more of an understanding of Satoori Rap is written.
Wow 🤯 I walked away and came back to this… I love your set up! It’s crazy professional! I’m was overwhelmed for a second but I’m a new scribe now! Map of the Soul album itself is based on the book Jung's Map of the Soul, about the theories Carl Jung created for psychology. There is an order that ARMI recommends listening to if you want to drink be into that rabbit hole. Thank you for showing love to the guys! 🫶 I would like to ask if you guys would react to Hobipalooza aka Lollapalooza 2022 - at least the first half. I live for the reactions because no one really sees it coming 💀💀! Also, the 2019 MAMA’s is another reaction favorite!
@audioaddictionmedia. Ok suga did not have multiple surgeries on his surgery , he use to get shots in his shoulder but it came to the point where one day he could raise his arm and he made the decision it’s time he get the surgery. He use to be a delivery person and one day his bike got hit by the car and that’s what caused the whole shoulder to get damaged. I am so glad that he is doing 100%better now .
YouthfulEagle: took “Nanjooning to a whole new level. Ha! Best and truest comment in the chat 💀 RM’s Indigo Album overview is a great watch! I always love how he goes over his music and thought process of every song! BTW - in regards to BTS and the whole “pave the way” bit: didn’t BTS create both Weverse and Vlive social platforms? Hybe sold off Vlive but it’s still one of the biggest platforms for Kpop and many many global artists. …same with Weverse.
hahaha yes, I love RM's work. but actually even though Vlive was bought by Hybe, it was originally created by Naver. I'm always curious if that was in response to Twitch or other live streaming platforms that might not have been available in Korea? I'm not sure but I really miss Vlive 🥲 -therese
Their lyric's have always had swearing (cursing) in it right from the beginning and there was a interesting conversation where Suga(aka Agust D) says I would use more English swearing if I was as good at English as RM.
2:51:06 You listened to OT7 version of Paldogangsan/Satoori rap. The lyric video shows the members wrong. Jimin and V are easily distinguishable, had harder time with Jin and JK..thought I was crazy when their pics weren't showing when they were singing..but yeah..re-checked it, it's OT7 version😆💜 Loved the reaction tho, you seem like a good company, looking forward to the next one
yes you're right! I should have mentioned that all the members were in palsogangsan but since we were covering the rap line I thought it might be helpful to just see the rappers on screen. diving into the vocal line today I'm so excited 🙏🏽-Therese
What is the time you do the lives? Edit: wait i just read the description, I'll try to join the next one, I'm a hyyh army ~ I'll try to clarify things in the comment section if there's any misinformation since I wasn't able to join the live
Lost really makes way more sense in the context of the whole album (which is a wild ride) and in context of knowing rm more. It isnt my favorite of his but its also perfect in its own way that is hard to explain out of context.
i really love your deep dives but for this bts part there was much misinformation i'll try to join the live next time to provide correct information ahhaha thanks again for this deep dive looking forward for next part.
oh no!! please clarify, I did use my main source as Beyond the Story but understandably I can get things wrong as a fan too. like we said we're not experts -therese
Different takes and interpretations of the same information can’t always be construed as “misinformation”. It is a very presumptuous position to take based on a false belief that if you disagree with someone the other person must be wrong, and that there is only one way of looking at things. This strange attitude permeates kpop fandoms and kpop conversations. Differences are supposed to be opportunities for bigger discussions to enrich all. In kpop it becomes a battle of right and wrong as if we live in fairy land. It is frustrating.
@HailToTheMeep I don't get it. Why are you suddenly attacking? when my intention was just to tell them the correct information as I'm also aware that they might not know everything. That's it, and it has nothing to do with you. damn why r you so defensive upon a comment. Please calm down. every comment is not written with a malicious intention. Try reading between the lines next time before attaching someone.
@@ruchimaurya6629 "Misinformation" is a very strong word. It implies a level of malicious intention within the context of online conversations in the 2020s. You also use the word "correct information" that you will try to provide next time. As you can see, they sourced their information from Beyond The Story, that's the BTS book filled with members direct quotes. I don't mean to attack. But I am being honest and direct because this is the internet, and you are a stranger to me. So I only have the words you typed here to go by. I don't know if English is your first language or not. It is my second language but I grew up with it and it is my main language of communication right now. Perhaps this might be an input for you. But whether you want to take it or not, that is up to you. If I can get this impression, many others would too.
@HailToTheMeep I still don't get it. Why are you stretching this matter and trying to justify your point. I have already read beyond the story, and im an army for 10 years now, and with "misinformation," I meant that some information which they said were incorrect that's all and I believe they might have gone through other sources as well.As the book doesn't contain all the information regarding bts for all the stuff you have to refer to interviews, lives etc. I don't want to drag this stupid conversation because I don't rely upon the translations or any other English sources for any information as I'm fluent in Korean. And I'm speaking about the incorrect information as I have consumed bts's content gradually for the past 10 years, not in a one go to mix and match information. and I wrote this comment in order to tell them that can help them with more correct information and not for you to drag me like this. This whole use of a word misinformation this, and that seems so stupid to me because this is just a comment section, not a court of law where we have to interpret each and every word. so chill, please. I have already said that I will join their live to provide them with correct information, so I don't see the point for discussion anyways where you have jumped in this conversation to accuse me of trying to hate on them when I really like their content which I have repeatedly written in my 1st post as well. At this point, you are just twisting the narrative and painting me like as a hater, which I don't think there is a need of. Lastly, I hope we can end this conversation here, like mature adults.
Alex was right, RM-Lost n RPWP album was made with a group of producers together, like a song camp. They wanted to showcase RM's contradictory personality with this album. And RM said he received many songs for this album n co-written some. He realised how fun it is to make songs together with other people instead of doing everything all by himself.
Please don't be fooled by people who are saying that J-Hope was taught how to rap by RM and Suga. It isn't true. He had classes. He listened to rap with the 2 boys. But he want taught how to rap by them
Well I wouldn't say they 100% taught him everything he knows , they definitely guided him and hope has even said before that he had asked suga to teach him how to rap and in exchange he'd teach suga to dance .
Nevermind, Jimin’s favo song from his Hyung. He loves it so much and what it stands for that he has Nevermind tattooed on his ribs, right side. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The plan was to build the group around RM. She has Beyond The Story so she will explain more as they go on and if they get to the OT7 videos and there are stuff missing Armys can fill in. If there's video rec about the struggles BTS faced, I will recommend Mistreatment of BTS by Affectaed and Xceleste Hardships video.
He'd already signed the contract to be a Rapper/Producer after the first round and then he tells the story of the second ground he was given 3 tracks to rap over he didn't like any of the 3 choice's but decided to re mix one of them and Rapped over that. Talk about confident he already had his contract with BigHit signed so had nothing to worry about.
nooou i wanted to see the reaction to cyper 4 so bad! 🥺😭 is there not a way to upload this part with the video blured out? we can open the performance video our self.. i was hoping to watch it along with yall.. 🥺🙏
These 3 rappers of BTS made me like hip-hop and rap. I hated those genres. I couldn't understand how simplistic rhyming like time, crime chime, mime, etc.. It sounded like children in elementary school poetry assignments. That was when I first heard them I hated original American rappers rhyming to a already established and popular beat, they couldn't sing and just spoke words, they couldn't play an instrument, they were talentless. It wasn't until BTS and how they incorporate the 3 rappers into each song. You expect it. Now BTS song seems incomplete without the rappers. I still won't buy rappers or hip-hop artists, I WILL listen to these 3, though. BTS are 7 talented individuals who are solo artists on their own, but when you put them all together, you get the supergroup BTS! It's like watching the origin movies of the Marvel Universe super heroes, and when they get together, it's like Avengers Assemble! Not EVERYONE will like EVERY BTS song, but there IS a BTS song for EVERYONE!
Namjoon asked Youjeen to be featured himself because he needed her voice as an explosive emotions… she was the only right person! Watch indigo documentary. Namjoon is a musical genius

quick callout that if you hear anything you disagree with or want to correct, please do! i genuinely want to provide the most clear information of bts to anyone who is curious. As such, a couple of self-corrections as I'm monitoring:
- big shoutout to reddit user baepsayed, they have an amazing thread on pre-debut bts www.reddit.com/r/bangtan/s/RQot3RknJ2
- on RM's rap i dont feel like i did justice for how far he's come as a singer, he obviously put a lot of work into his voice because it sounds amazing
- on j-hope's rap, while he's talked about being the least experienced rapper, he's worked extremely hard on creating his own style and it shows!
Also, “least experienced” is pretty relative at this point. I mean, 13 1/2 years isn’t really INexperienced, which “least experienced” kind of infers.
Please make more reactions for J-HOPE !
Very cool.
😘💜🫶🏻🫰🏻
You forgot to mention that Yoongi during his last tour stop last year finally went through the door. It was a powerful moment at the end of his tour.
i think it is important to talk about bts’s struggles specifically concerning their career bc it really gives context to their music and choices. bighit being a small company, bts being bullied heavily by k-pop fans and the media from debut even til this day, and them not having many opportunities for multiple years post debut is the basis and lyrical focus of 2/3 of the rapline’s first solo mixtapes. these things forced them to make different music, career choices, and value different things than other idols. i don’t think their “underdog story” can be separated from them. thanks for checking out bts!!
I totally get you, we'll definitely talk about that more a bit when we get into some of their full group discography just for this video I wanted to keep it lighthearted and focus on their artistry as individuals thank you for the feedback! -therese
I agree, they speak about their struggles so much in their lyrics that it is essential to understanding their music.
I think a first deep dive it is nice to keep it light and casual.

@@SoggycereaIsame, the surprise was something else 😭
@@SoggycereaI he got the most likes on concept pics compared to any member and MORE is still the most liked video out of every member. He might not have a lot of fan that will dedicate all their time to stream/loop his music but he has a lot of fans that will appreciate his art and listen to it with love
J-Hope's versatility never fails to blow me away. What a talent, what an artist!
And he is a good vocalist as well
J-hope is so insane, i just love his songs so much
maybe for non native korean speakers satoori rap is hard to understand but this song has academic studies and inspired many a discussion in Korea regarding satoori.

So hard to pick songs but you did a great job.
thanks I've been sweating on each of these week's playlists, I'll definitely need your guys suggestions moving forward this month!
Excited to hear their distinct styles and hopefully be able to pick them out by the end of this month haha! - Brandon
Therese’s enthusiasm about Lost! and the mazes was such a joyful addition 😄 thanks for such a deep look, I can’t wait to see the rest!
j-hope's "On the Street" with J.
J-Hope verses are amazing. It's no surprise he is the. Ace of Kpop
Youjeen came out of retirement because RM asked her to sing on Wildflower. Youjeen was the front woman of the South Korean Rock Band 'Cherry Filter'.
BTS rapline is top tier they're the big3 of k-pop 🔥
Also their albums are concept albums, and listening to them in order always put everything on context. Plus every album is different.
So bummed that cypher4 performance didn't show here in youtube. 😒 love it

Suga had an accident during his delivery job when he was a trainee. His parents couldn't afford to pay for his school. His shoulder got dislocated, but he didn't tell BigHit because he was afraid he would get kicked out. After BH found out, they paid for his college. He didn't have multiple surgery. He was putting the surgery off until he couldn't handle the pain anymore and had surgery in Nov 2020.
thank you for the correction!!
His shoulder is crash not only dislocated
Yes, his shoulder was crushed. He lied about it, for various reasons, but the truth came out slowly over the years. Even his BTS brothers didn't know. He said he fell down some stairs and downplayed the severity of his injuries and hid his pain. We knew he was grumpy and tired and went from break dancing with j-hope for fun as a trainee, to avoiding dance, but we didn't know why for years.
Hobipalooza is fire than JITB IS BOMm and Hope world is tsunami of emotions. Must watch On The Street with JCole. Hobi's documentary JHOPE IN THE BOX is one of best documentary on Disney+

-therese

@@AudioAddictionmedia Park Ji-Yoon was the other older established artist thatv really surprised Suga and made him a little jealous.

Also, that sometimes, the scar and pain is something we inflict on ourselves. Anyway, love the reactions and sharing. Thanks again!

Hey guys, I really enjoyed this video! 3hrs??? The time surprisingly flew 😅 I have two recommendations re: RM, and just for your viewing and listening pleasure! Like, just to enhance your listening experience, no pressure on filming a reaction:
"RM Live In Seoul" is such a treat, he performs the songs from his album Indigo, and many of the featuring artists performed with him too.
thank you. love the reaction.
Yes he really is amazing 😊
Fact
J-hope the ace of kpop
BTS MOREEEEE💜💜💜💜💜💜👍💜💜💜💜💜
We have the entire month dedicated to BTS! So there is absolutely more coming! Thank you for watching 😊- Brandon
No every project RM puts out is very different from the last. DAECHWITA Suga and El Capitxn produced this.
That's fair! If you have ones you recommend comment them down below! I'll check them out! - Brandon
Wow 🤯 I walked away and came back to this…
I love your set up!
I would like to ask if you guys would react to Hobipalooza aka Lollapalooza 2022 - at least the first half. I live for the reactions because no one really sees it coming 💀💀! Also, the 2019 MAMA’s is another reaction favorite!
Great job Therese! 👏💜
Ha! Best and truest comment in the chat 💀
RM’s Indigo Album overview is a great watch!
Cypher Pt 4 is one of my faves, I'm sad it got blocked.
Definitely should check out UGH! And Ddaeng rap songs as well i surprised you left them out
Please react to more jhope song'.. he has diverse music
Their lyric's have always had swearing (cursing) in it right from the beginning and there was a interesting conversation where Suga(aka Agust D) says I would use more English swearing if I was as good at English as RM.
where is cypher 1-4, ddaeng and outro:tear???

You listened to OT7 version of Paldogangsan/Satoori rap. The lyric video shows the members wrong. Jimin and V are easily distinguishable, had harder time with Jin and JK..thought I was crazy when their pics weren't showing when they were singing..but yeah..re-checked it, it's OT7 version😆💜
Loved the reaction tho, you seem like a good company, looking forward to the next one
yes you're right!
We also have a community post going over what we'll be doing for the next month! We look forward to seeing you in chat! - Brandon
The Agust D two mixtapes and the album, which spawned the greatest trilogy ever of Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala, made Suga my BTS bias!!!! 💜
Just wait til you hear RM 'Joke' and 'Do You' and the new songs from his new Album Right 'Place, Wrong Person' 2 songs being 'Groin' and 'Nuts'.
Or All Day from Indigo or Change with Wale!
I liked that you didn't talk about their struggles ten years ago, they're the most famous and succesful group on the planet 💜
Would have liked to seen the actual footage of cypher 4. But I’m sure it’s a UA-cam thing.
Well Cypher 4 and the medley are up on Patreon if you feel like watching! - Brandon
My birthday is also March 1st. remember when this dropped and it felt like a birthday present.
Oh 😮 twins! Haha I would also take this as a great birthday gift! - Brandon
He'd already signed the contract to be a Rapper/Producer after the first round and then he tells the story of the second ground he was given 3 tracks to rap over he didn't like any of the 3 choice's but decided to re mix one of them and Rapped over that. Talk about confident he already had his contract with BigHit signed so had nothing to worry about.
thank you for the correction and extra information! -Therese
give u all a suggestion for watching Jhope in Lollapalooza performance

Not EVERYONE will like EVERY BTS song, but there IS a BTS song for EVERYONE!
gracias por compartir música de bts 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Namjoon asked Youjeen to be featured himself because he needed her voice as an explosive emotions… she was the only right person! Watch indigo documentary. Namjoon is a musical genius
Ooops… just saw you guys were actually at Lollapolooza 🤡 lucky!!!!🍀
just wanted to know did you guys post your reaction to i-Land 2 anywhere?? thanks
Yeah! We have the whole series in a Google drive link! It's on our community tab! Though it'll get migrated to Patreon since I know the link can disappear after many watches! - Brandon
@@AudioAddictionmedia okay i'll be sure to watch every episode then, keep up the great work, thanks!
Awww thank you so much! ❤️ - Brandon
