Been there and took the southern rarely traveled route, driving it myself in a full sized Ford Explorer. Not the route to travel IF you are in a hurry or Claustrophobic. Rental car Companies do not authorize you to you this counterclockwise route for very obvious reasons. But both the beauty and challenge make it the ride of a lifetime. Would I do it again. True answer NO NEED TO AS THE CHALLANGE has been met and the rare beauty captured on my camera.
