Do you worry that the existing material might warm up leaving the worms no refuge since you mixed the material with the high nitrogen grounds and vitamix greens? Would layering paper/ greens / paper have left the existing castings inactive-ish as it pertains to the hot composting materials?
I was a little bit but it is hard to see but the worms have a good 12-15 inches of material below what I added so even if it does heat up they can run lower into the system to find cooler spaces.

African nightcrawlers are great for composting and also love warmer temperatures also ,nice fat worms 🪱🇳🇿❤️
Keeping the temps up during the winter can be rough but they can really chew through some food if you have the system right!
