I knew way back in 1995 when I sued my crossdressing ex-husband for divorce, I had to call him "my spouse" and other "neutral" terms. I and my attorney avoided pronouns completely. The custody of my sons was at stake.

I hope this Barrister keeps fighting the Bar Standards Board. This is so disturbing.
A handful of barristers will make no difference. They really need to ensure all barristers are informed and encouraged to comment. I certainly shall now that I know about this. I can see where this is going in terms of enabling the cult to lodge complaints that the BSB will uphold. That'll be catastrophic. Especially for women at the Bar. We have a much worse time of it than the men. Plus this DEI is a middle class foible, and if this is imposed on barristers it will affect barristers from non-traditional (e.g. working class, Black, etc.) far more. Which is a nice iron6 given the Bar is still achingly white, male, upper middle to upper class.
@@arandorapress7561unfortunately it is the legal classes etc that push this insanity. They think they are being ‘kind’.
This is already the case for Solicitors. The Stonewall 100 Employer the Solicitors Regulation Authority has one of his Principles to promote EDI. The SRA regulate all solicitors. No-one has raised this until it affected Barristers.
This could be a case where the forced teaming ploy throws up more problems than it often manages to steamroller.

I said before labour got in or just about when they did, around the election time, I think I said it on one of mr mennos live streams, that I didn't think we were winning compared to other countries and that in fact we were behind them on that messed up road, because countries like Canada, Australia, Germany etc had lefty governments in place for years, where as we had a right wing government dragging its feet on this issue. I don't like saying I told you so, because its terrifying but I just knew Labour would follow in the footsteps of Canada and here we are.
"Advance DEI " translates to compulsory allegiance i.e. be a proactive ally. To the Cult neutrality isn't an option. If you are not "seen" as an ally you must be the enemy ! The use of declared pronouns is demanded as a sign of conformity. Similarly the Cult's use of the word "Respect" translates to comply or else !
