I was going to use a doctor and facility in my city. I went for the consultation, and the atmosphere was far too chaotic, and I felt rushed. They also kept adding fees after they quoted me a cash price. So I am going to see Dr. Alvarez for less than half the price.
I have health insurance in the US (and I work for that hosipital!) and could have gotten the sleeve for $0 through them, but I chose to pay out of pocket, fly to Mexico and have Dr. A do my surgery instead. That's saying a lot. I feel very safe travelling to Piedras Negras, and I feel more comfortable going to Dr. A than I would if had my procedure done here in the US. My surgery date is 12/28!
Dr. A did my surgery just over a year ago. I did tons of research on my own and decided on Dr. A due to his track record and accomplishments. Dr. A ONLY does the sleeve, so yes you can say he is specialized in what he does. Dr. A answers my emails personally, not just a nurse, but the surgeon himself. You will not find that in the US. His hospital was VERY clean and welcoming. I feel like the decision I made going to him was the best decision I made.
I had my procedure done in October with Dr. A. I felt very safe and was treated very well. I work in a hospital in New York, so I looked for any potential red flags when I was there. I received excellent care from beginning to end. I paid half the price (no insurance) as I would have in NY. Also, with low BMI, I may not have been able to get surgery at home. Since ive been back hime Dr.A has been very responsive to all my questions and concerns.
OMG! I started on a Bariatric Website for support groups, etc and hear a nightmare story about a sleeve that was done incorrectly in the US!!! So glad I did my research and came to you!!!!
Yes weight loss surgery is safe in Mexico , I am living proof Dr .Alvarez did my surgery along with the A-Team .. Best Decision ever and the results are amazing . I'm back into jean size from Junior High . Thank Dr.A
