I really enjoyed the dancer, he is exceptionally skilled and unique in his performance, just like all performances by the Elektric Band are quite distinctive.
🎼🎵🎵🎵🎶🎵🎹🎼🎵🎵🎵🎶🎵🥁🎼🎵🎵🎶🎵🎸🎼🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎸🎼🎵🎶🎶🎵🎷🤔😉💋❤️💋❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
6:26 starts the NERVE!! How intense!! Scott's phrasing equal only to himself! Great groove and one of the best tunes to groove over =) We are so fortunate to have these people to inspire us!! God bless!! Cool weasel boogie, LOVE IT! =)
Rios is great. And that solo he does on the album is great. Scott has the ability to be way more adventurous harmonically (he's one of the best out there), and of course, can miss the mark at times (not that he does here). That said, Scott Henderson at his best is otherworldly amazing. His solo just a few tracks later (king Cockroach) is a great example of his amazing phrasing.
Totally agree - Carlos' playing on the album track was sublime! Scott is a different sort of cat and brilliant in his own right, but I feel Carlos is so underrated and I wish there was more material of him playing in a fusion context. Of course Brother to Brother will for ever be his most well known playing, and he did a Kazu Matsui project album, which was fusion lite, but I can't get enough of his full on fusion playing.
I know Carlos Rios played on the self titled debut album and did a great job on this track but all due respect to him, Scott Henderson absolutely kills it here with his guitar playing where he starts off very quietly before really going to town and rips it up. Even though the Elektric Band lineup of Corea, Patitucci, Weckl and Henderson didn't last long, they were pure dynamite together
Yeah Scott H ego I heard was too much for Chick C why he didn't last long a auditioned was setup for another guitar player and Frank Gambale got the gig rest is history
This is Scott Henderson's hands, facial expressions, guitar playing, funny hair, amazing feel on the instrument, incredible phrasing, everything... How difficult is to understand that the guitar player on this tour with the Chick Corea Elektric Band was Scott? Anyway, Carlos Rios is a great guitar player too, and the one who played on the album version of this particular song (also on Side Walk).
@@MrMarcospaizante I think it's safe to say that. In my mind, this was some of his best playing ever. I never get tired of watching the videos of him playing with Chick.
+julio brenes We must have been at the same show then. The show I saw was on Chick's birthday, and he was on a bill with Wayne Shorter's band and Al DiMeola playing a solo set. Al Jarreau came out and did Spain with the band as an encore, and then they all sang and played “Happy Birthday” for Chick.
@djkocisi Your right on man!! I'm sick of listening to all these guitar experts( Yeah right!!!) on youtube who make stupid comments about SH playing.....I don't see them playing with Chick Corea!! Anyway! We're right with our comments just look at John Patitucci's face when Scott's ripping in his solo close to the end of the tune!! He knows how heavy SH is!!!!! Enough said!!!!!!!
Scott Henderson's solo talks like ET struttin' is butt on planet Earth! Wow! I've being watching this video since I bought it early 90's on VHS! Scott you're amazing - I'd love to hear you reunited with the Elektric Band
Tan joven, tan experto Henderson 💓🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶♾️🌻🌅👊
Man we were so spoiled 70s 80s and 90s with "fusion jazz" frm chick corea to weather report- mahavishu orchestra- santana- yellowjackets- tower of power- bela fleck- pat matheny- rippingtons- spyro gyra- george benson- lee ritenour- flim and the bb's- joe zawinul etc etc Great music
Now we have a band called Snarky Puppy. A large ensemble consisting of bass, 3 guitarists, 4 horns, 3 or 4 keyboardists, 1 or 2 drummers, a percussionist, and I think that's about it. I love 'em!
You can say that again I started pulling away from popular music in the late 80s, stayed in contemory jazz for 15yrs, and now I find myself in the Chillout Zone/Downtempo, but its great youtubing it back to the days of glory and relive when music required talent
There is only 3 chords in this song, the bass plays pretty much the same thing all the way through as do the drums. Are you too thick to realize what the piece is? It's a perfect example on how such high caliber musicians can create such interest and intensity over 3 chords for 8 minutes. You can't even refer to fusion as one genre, it's such a ridiculously broad genre for it to be classified as one thing.
@Artunaldo He was talking about Carlos Rios. On that album Carlos Rios played on Cool Weasil Boogie not Scott. Scott played on King Cockroach and Silver Temple. Carlos played on Sidewalk too. I should know I'm a guitarist and that album changed my life.
scott's playing is so in tune with chick that if you listen right before 4:20 you hear chick suggests a sort of whole tone and altered sound and scott was in tune with that and adjusted accordingly ( as all great musicians should do is play WITH the band not IN the band)
Not a monster on this live version!!!! What are you taking about man!!!!.....Get your hearing checked out!!!.. what more do you want from a dynamic and musicaly constructed solo!!!! It has it all!! Sound, Chops, feel, energy....go check him out with Tribal Tech!!!! Are you sure you know what your taking about bro.. when it comes to playing the instrument!
I wonder whose idea it was to edit in the extraneous dance bits. If Chick Corea wanted this element as part of his concert presentation one would assume it would be included on the stage during the actaul filming. Maybe it seemed like a good idea in late 1986 but it seems rather foolish to me now. Just saying.
God this is SOOOOOO awesome. What happened to music? Can someone explain why we have nothing but shit to listen to now unless you search for the unknowns
The reason he's out of tune is that this is a live gig in Spain....It's in the summer.... and you can tell it's a hot and humid night!! His guitar has been affected by the weather...and also.., the bending of notes does not help it staying in tune either!!! so you should take this fact into account before you comment! As to the problems with the chords......Again.... What are you taking about, Man!!!!! Have you studied music for you to make a remark like that!!!!
I want to be the hot shot business guy doing the cool weasel boogie like the guy in video by day and coolest guy on earth wearing the Hawaiian shirt and specs in this video by night!!!
Dammit, can't it be enough to watch musicians playing to have to add the dancer visual on top of it? Are we that dense that we can't hear what's going on, we need Mr Dancer to keep things visually interesting for us? Ech...
Henderson's good here, but I'm jrluke - Carlos Rios on the studio version blows this version away. It's one of my all-time favorite guitar solos of any genre.
@johnbirdland .....Why are you making a big deal about 4:20!? I was talking just about the solo near the end!.....I don't understand guy's like you on youtube!!! Just listen to the great players and wish you could be in their shoes....stop being so critical about how someone's playing is on a given night!! They're only human! You can't always sound great 100% of the time!!!!
Scott being a halftone too high in his first solo? Do you have *any* ears at all? Ever heard of "outside" playing? Scott is a freaking master of that and each and every note he plays resolves at one point in time! Hasn't got anything to do with Chick bending chords or so. You should probably check your musical horizon and get a new pair of ears while you're at it!
This is my favorite song on this album. Carlos Rios starts small and builds to an awesome peak. Actually the whole song builds.
Scott Henderson 👍👍👍👍👍👍😉😊🎶🎼🎸
Scott Henderson is so Heavy!!!! I miss him in the Elektric band!!!!
It's Carlos Rios on this cut and "Elektric City"
I really enjoyed the dancer, he is exceptionally skilled and unique in his performance, just like all performances by the Elektric Band are quite distinctive.

El mejor tema de la elektric band!!Majestuoso!!❤
I love this so much.... RIP Chick :(
Album version is still the greatest guitar lead of all time
The bass line of this song has been stucked in my head for months.Great phrasing,Mr.Henderson.
sorry...by me for years:-)
Scott Henderson.🤩
6:26 starts the NERVE!! How intense!! Scott's phrasing equal only to himself! Great groove and one of the best tunes to groove over =) We are so fortunate to have these people to inspire us!! God bless!! Cool weasel boogie, LOVE IT! =)
Scott's solo is one of the greatest, i agree!
I loved him in this song!
It's Carlos Rios on guitar on this cut
Scott plays on the livevideo!!
Wished I could dance like that . Fantastic fusion.
The IDJ dancers. Big Jazz dancers on the London scene in the 80’s
Still, to this day, 2014, HITTING THE SPOT!!
Carlos Rios on guitar on the original version plays a perfect take.
drewper73 Yeah but Scott Henderson is absolutely sick!!
Agreed, the Rios is one of my favorite solos ever; he was burning! The Henderson solo is nice, but a totally different flavor.
Rios is great. And that solo he does on the album is great. Scott has the ability to be way more adventurous harmonically (he's one of the best out there), and of course, can miss the mark at times (not that he does here). Carlos Rios' solo on the recorded version stands as a testament to perfection. Scott took a little while to find his flow on this on
I know Carlos Rios played on the self titled debut album and did a great job on this track but all due respect to him, Scott Henderson absolutely kills it here with his guitar playing where he starts off very quietly before really going to town and rips it up.
Vi isso na TV Manchete nos anos 90 e nunca mais esqueci! 👏👏👏
Eu aqui de novo! Que musica!
Descanse em paz Chick Corea!
Scott Henderson in my opinion is im top 5 guitar players in The world.
@@MrMarcospaizante I think it's safe to say that. In my mind, this was some of his best playing ever. I never get tired of watching the videos of him playing with Chick.
I can only agree. Carlos Rios performance on this song is a showcase in tasteful guitar playing.
❤❤ ........ ENCANTADOR ......
Spinning sunglasses guy totally gets it 🔥
henderson's solos on this live are 10! but the solos on the album version are totally unbeatable!!
Thanks for posting this I love this tune. The sound he gets on his Rhodes-fantastic All the best
This is Scott Henderson on this video---Carlos Rios played on the studio version (a perfect take in my opinion
They both played on the Studio version.
What a fab sound he has with his Rhodes
I saw him live at the Greek theater back 86 .awesome
+julio brenes We must have been at the same show then. The show I saw was on Chick's birthday, and he was on a bill with Wayne Shorter's band and Al DiMeola playing a solo set. That sounds incredible!
Sorceress from Romantic Warrior and this # the sexiest tracs he ever did
Love
Scott is increíble!!!
@djkocisi Your right on man!! I'm sick of listening to all these

just look at John Patitucci's face when Scott's ripping

John Patitucci laying it down.
GEWELDIG, GRANDE, AWESOME, MAGNIFIQUE, ERSTAUNLICH ...
someone 2k19?
Refresh! Fantástico!
Scott Henderson's solo talks like ET struttin' is butt on planet Earth!
Wow! I've being watching this video since I bought it early 90's on VHS! Scott you're amazing - I'd love to hear you reunited with the Elektric Band
It's Carlos Rios on this cut and "Elektric City"
2020 !!
IT'S HARD TO WIN A VICTORY OWESELF--THE STRENCH ARE EQUAL.
WELL THEY DO!SMART MUSIC.
ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIECES /ELECTRIC BAND 2/
my favorite, awasome!!
Most smooth jazz stuff works for me. Good players, tight grooves.
my favourite from the album, both Carlos and Scott are impressive. Somehow this song reminds me of the Weasel Mafia in Conker's Bad Fur Day
I wanna breakdance like that!

Aquí John Patitucci fue también Akoustic en parte, tocó contrabajo y no bajo eléctrico de 6 cuerdas ❤
Obrigado Fe!

you read my mind on that one!
Erm, excuse me, but who exactly are you talking to ? Your ego ?
Chick tenia buenas ideas en su musica, que buena interpretacion
That's right, PLAY that DX, Chick! :P

Still, to this day, 2019 - HITTING THE SPOT!! Killer Swagger Tune.

The most the THE most sexy bass part I have ever heard.
Essa solo eh matador
Henderson kills me here……!!!
It's Carlos Rios on this cut & "Electric City"
They actually had live dancers
That snare tho
scott's playing is so in tune with chick that if you listen right before 4:20 you hear chick suggests a sort of whole tone and altered sound and scott was in tune with that and adjusted accordingly ( as all great musicians should do is play WITH the band not IN the band)

Dig Scott Hendersons playing but I would've looooved to see a live version of this song w/ Frank Gambale.....
It's Carlos Rios on this cut and "Elektric City"
What is that monitor for? lol Keepin an eye on his stocks during the gig?
That's the monitor for the Synclavier. The one with the green fonts anyway..
Who was the cool weasel? I always thought it was chick acting out a fantasy with his band and the dancer. Sadly no longer
I want a calculator watch too

Is that mc hammer??? Lol
WHO CARES ABOUT THE DANCER,WHEN THE MUSIC SOUNDS SO SHICK :)
All this fusion stuff is so boring. Lots of changes, chops and charade but precious little substance. And the dancer is just totally ridiculous.
