Solingen steal has always been the best, carried Puma since I was 15 or 16, I'm 59. Clean 3 to 5 deer before hitting the stone or my 1930's honner. You got a Incredible knife there.
My old man got one of these, when he was a young guy; his hunting knife. He still has it, but it's, uh... It's not in quite as good a shape as yours. haha 👍👍
I have a bowie style blade that says solingen germany. It has a buck horn style handle. Also edge brand. I did a little research and it's called a rhino blade hunting bowie.
I have a couple Wingen knives, both with really gnarly stag with deep grooves and popcorn textures. Caramel colors too. One also has etched original trapper filled with gold. It is integral construction though. All one piece of finger-grooved steel with a good-sized trailing point for skinning. The other is a boot knife type kind of like your recent one. The good German brands are almost too many to name
Was wondering if you could possibly help me find some information about 3 blade pocket knife I found at a pawn shop it's a Solingen handles look like wood but not really sure and the shield looks like it has a bull on it thank you for any information
Thanks for watching and sharing. Solingen’ region produced a lot of knives that were simply stamped Solingen and of Germany. Those without a specific maker’s mark can be difficult to tell the Maker. Solingen had a Cutlery Guild’ and a lot of small shops just stamped Germany /Solingen. I will see what I can dig up something using the Bull’ on the shield! Best! Dwayne
HI Dwayne, I suggest you look into Carl Schliefer - German Eye, who actually introduced the Sodbuster knife to the USA! I recently acquired an interesting Schliefer fixed blade, very reminiscent of a Puma. I will tag you when I make a video, I think you will enjoy seeing the knife and original packaging.
Thanks for sharing. And yes indeed some of them Schliefer’ knives are awesome too. I have spied some of those occasionally noticed and thought at first they were a Puma’ knife. Another great cutlery. Somewhat off the Radar.
@@CuttingEdgetools I found a site for dating Schliefer knives, with one fixed blade in the whole lineup; very distinct from mine. So far I am unable to date the piece I have, which is in excellent condition. I gather that some collectors go after the old Schliefer knives as a sort of poor man's Case, wherein one can obtain a knife from the same era, of comparable quality and also rarity, for considerably less expense.
@@dongkhamet1351 Definitely there is a vast array of great older Quality Solingen knives that easily equal to CASE and other US makers. I feel many are a bargain. The hordes flock to popular Name stuff. Always have.
Perfect compromises of style and class combining quality, utility, compactness, and artistry. Lineage with the spinoff military patterns of 1915-45 is obvious. Rambo and Elmer Fudds would not be interested, preferring an M9, machete, or pseudo short sword.
I just love knives not just because of their ability to cut but just of the art that they were made with, especially in the past!
Absolutely 👍 agree. Appreciate watching and sharing
That is a beauty of a Knife! Looks brand new.
Absolutely beautiful knife brother Dwayne!!!!!

Beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing
It is truly a beautiful knife. Although the scabbard is also very nice, I think it belongs to a German folding bowie.
Nice collection. Great looking knives brother 🤙
I really appreciate this show. Excellent knife.
That thing is stunning. Love the videos.

Thanks for sharing your Puma story. Great stuff!
The modest-yet-useful guard/finger stop lets the knife set deep, secure in that pouch-type sheath.
The whole thing is a piece of elegant excellence.
That is beautiful ❤❤❤
Very nice looking
Konečně krásný kus oceli, a ne to profláknuté tantó!!Co na těch tantech všichni vidí?? Takhle má vypadat nůž.......🤷😁👍💖💖💖

HAVE AN "ORIGINAL BOWIE" (A LARGER TWIN OF THAT) FROM ANTON WINGEN TOO: SUPERB KNIVES
Awesome. They made some Big Blades. Thanks for sharing
What an amazing vintage knife, it would be absoulutely perfect for bushcraft purposes, though It is probably too nice and rare to use.
No doubt some Solingen heavyweights there. Wish you the best of luck trying not to buy knives, when I try that I seem to buy more Lol!
Am I confused? Is that convex edge?
I prefer the PUMA Knife „ELK Hunter“
Awesome blade👍thanks for sharing

My Dad's hunting knife is stamped with Soligen, Germany. It has a Buffalo on it. Buffalo hunter?
