Maybe it’s good to make sure that people have an outfit that they still feel amazing in but is suitable for a dress down day. When my energy is low and I don’t have the oomph for dressing up, I have ‘go to’ things which are super casual but that still make me feel good. I’m all for a good quality/stylish bag and shoes as I think these automatically upgrade you. Great video. Thanks for making me think about mindset.
Hello, Sara- Yes!! We definitely need to have clothes that work when our energy is low. Some women choose to wear something elevated to help boost their mood, others prefer pieces that are more like 'comfort food' in clothing form. Either works, we simply need to anticipate ways to make our clothing support us on those days. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Lori- You're so welcome. I teach what I've learned in my own closet... as well as in fitting rooms and other women's closets. Awareness is the first step. Then you can begin to shift the beliefs that aren't serving you. :-)
Ooh, so good. I think we all worry sometimes that others might wonder who we think we are. So interesting because shouldn't we be exactly who we want to be? And not 'fitting in to the environment'... also so true! Thanks for your comment.
There was a woman I knew who when she saw me dressed nicely would always ask, "who is he?" The meaning being I'm only dressed this way to impress a man. It irritated me but it didn't stop me. I filed it away with the "why are you so dressed up?" and "where are you going?" comments. Sometimes it's the limiting beliefs of others that we allow to get in our heads. Just like anything positive you try to do there will always be haters.🌷🌿💙
Wow! So true. I find that people who ask those questions are living with so much fear of showing up fully... they are threatened by others who do! I'm glad you don't let their comments stop you!
I believe these women are jealous because they don't understand style, how to dress and are not willing to put any effort to improve. I think you were probably not even dressed up but just well put together and well groomed and that's enough for her to be envious and nasty. I met a lot of women like that who would say to me: "you dont need to make a fashion statement every time you go out" and I was just casually dressed. Keep up your wonderful style and lets continue to enjoy ourselves.
That’s spot-on! Could you do something on date clothes and looking cute, but still feeling comfortable in your skin? 😊 I feel like I’m not quite in touch with my flirty side when it comes to getting dressed - even though I’m working hard on my style and making great progress on my wardrobe now thanks to much of your advice, and it’s wonderful.
Yes! Great topic idea. I'll answer this question on my next IG Live (9/6/22) and also create a more extensive UA-cam video which will air in late September or early October. Thanks!!
For me personally I work on autopilot in the mornings. So I have to put my outfit out the day before. Even then I have a second of should I wear it? So I understand what you're saying. The flylady routines and dressing your truth methods have made a big difference for me. I appreciate your videos and love your style.
This is such an important topic. Thank you for creating this episode to review it with us. Curious to know if you have read the book mindset by Carol Dweck. In it she very clearly goes through the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. Many of us so easily get into a fixed mindset about many things, including our wardrobe. I love the idea of a growth mindset where we are always learning and exploring and growing. Thank you for all you do!
Yes! Wonderful book. So helpful!! For a long time, I thought I had a growth mindset because I was interested in personal development... instead I gained a lot of knowledge and didn't apply it... staying stuck in a fixed mindset!! 😉
My channel is designed to help women learn how to create the style results they want to create. A bit talk show, a bit coaching session, a bit storytelling. ;-)

@@KristenCainStyle thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and understanding of this. It’s helpful.
"Style Therapy" - thank you. I have so many limiting beliefs...too many.
Your videos are so helpful.

Who does she think she is? Comes to mind. Judgement from others, or not “fitting in” to the environment. Great video!

@@KristenCainStyle We are all works in progress. I know I am lol!
Excellent point Kathy. Never did I ever connect the fixed/growth mindset to fashion! 💖
So is your channel a talk shaw or is the intention to actually teach women how to find their style and manage their suitable wardrobe.
