It can be used moderately for tranquillity, reduction of pain/stress etc.. it ain't only a life or death thing unless you want to vaguely reduce it. Didn't want to be that dude that is very specific but you tried acting smart to that dude for no reason.

You're taking it to a physical examination of the quote when Budden's point, isn't that Xanax PHYSICALLY keeps you alive; it kept artists alive by surviving depression. Overdosing on it, kills them (Among many other drugs). Pain reduction drugs can keep you alive depending on the definition of 'alive'. Xanax users who are depressed keep 'alive' in terms of pushing through the bullshit in their lives, like paracetamol to a headache, it'll help you push through the headache by NUMBING THE PAIN (E.g numbing the emotional pain).
I shouldn't have had to get so in depth about a simple sentence that rings true but damn in the digital age everyone want's to nitpick with 50% dive in analysis just to, idk, come off smart or the undiscovered opinion or some shit. Pretentious.

I lost my Job Tuesday, I was fired despite me making every effort in the world to be there. I walked home, alone, listening to Lil Peep's Crybaby & Castles 2 Mixtapes and the emotions were so raw and relatable.

People claim they’re depressed because they have first world problems and they don’t know how to deal with it. People do it to get attention thinking it’s fine but it isn’t because people who actually suffer from depression and try to talk about it are taken as a fucking joke. Stop making depression seem like it’s cute.
Right. Everyone has been depressed or anxious at some point in their life that doesn't mean they have a "mental illness" it doesn't mean they have a clinical case. People refuse to understand this, there is a depressive state that can be brought by situations or even the season and then there's clinical depression. Our generation has been left in the dust. We cry out for help, our humor is so dark to where jokes about wanting death in depressive states are normal. We're anxious about the future - how we'll chase the American Dream and if such a thing is attainable anymore. We're going to be in debt as a result of academic inflation as poor public school systems altered by old men and women from 3 generations ago fail us intellectually. We feel responsible for changing the political turmoil in our country. The globe could give out thanks to capitalist greed. Previous generations didn't care because they didn't know. Ignorance is bliss but ignorance is hard to enjoy when the world and all its problems are resting at your fingertips.
We tell our parents and they throw it away as weakness or being ungrateful; too sensitive apparently. Of course, we're too sensitive for people who didn't have that many things to be sensitive about as a child. They tell us we complain too much even though there's clear evidence of our reasons. Adults today have wisdom from the past but they haven't experienced what it's like to be a teenager today. Shit is stressful and overwhelming. This is beyond words.

Her boyfriend had said right after peep died, that when he was dating her they both took the same pills, fentanyl laced Xanax, and almost died, so he wasn't surprised that she still messed with those pills. Then SHE dies from them later down the road? Obviously she didn't care enough to stop messing with those pills.

I love Peep, & I love all of you too, And i hope throughout these times and waking moments of realization we are able to evolve and move towards a better mind state as a whole. I would much prefer him to have remained in our world for atleast a while longer, but these type of occurrences are here for us all to learn from..
