No, I don't think it is crazy. I sang it too almost daily as a lullaby as a young Czech dad to my Canadian-German kids some 20 years ago...Both kids have now become young adults who eagerly join in with their lullaby every time Czech Republic wins on an international stage... And I love it!
Czech national anthem is maybe only one you can sing as lullaby. Its because The Czech anthem is not about fight, war, power like other anthems but about love and sad for country. The anthem is calm and not brisk like other. Of course there are many anthems that are nice, but still more like war songs in lyrics. Still most wonderfull song, its great that you can sing it as lullaby, it only shows how wonderfull the song is.

We Czechs and Moravians are also not as agressive as other countrieses = we have never ever has had no colonies, but we had been 348 years occupied ... So no agressive words in our NUMBER ONE SONG ...

When somebody says: People from Southern Bohemia," it only means, that he or she talks about people in certain area.
When somebody says "We Czechs," sometimes people in Moravia and Slesia are not too happy ...

Never thought about czech anthem as a lullaby, but it's a logical move - in fact it is an appretiation of nature and home, not a "let's have courage, we are going to war" one. Thank you for this and one confession of mine: I have similar affection for Japan anthem. In it's orchestral version it calms me down like no other thing. Give it a try.

I come from the Czech republic, I was born there, in 1985 but I don't like our national anthem as much as the slovakian one, because we were one nation till the 31th December 1992, so if the anthems were played, the czech one was played first and the slovakian one came second ... :-)

Very good! 🙂 I guess you know the history of the Czech anthem - but I'm going to repeat it for the benefit of other readers. It is at the same time a song in a patriotic play from 1834 (the time of the Czech national revival). It became pretty popular, not only in the Czech Lands but in some other Slavic countries as well. Among the Czechs it was a hit in the 19. century. To come to an end: That's why it's so beautiful - because it was written by true artists to express love for the country (and the people - 2. verse which is not a part of the anthem).

To tell the truth, I mean you have caught the point as to our national anthem, it is actually such a lullaby. Other nations march, or fight, or so, in their anthems... and we... admire and are enthused by our countryside... :-)
I can say, I would never expect anything like that from any foreigner, I am really moved... having been to Holland a WHILLE! I got some experience and I have to say that I was not so impressed by that country and some people and if she feels good in Czechia is nice but I do not think Czechs are treated in Holland well enough to payback their Kindness To Dutch coming to Visit or to live in Czechia.
This women seems to be nice person so she deserves a kindness of Czech.
