I replaced mine myself because the gasket and the plastic was bad but surprisingly didn’t get a check engine even though it was leaking real bad but after changing I got a check engine. Hmmm.
2015, 1.4 liter changed out t-stat about 7 months ago along with water pump. Now it reading code 0599..checked all connections, hoses. Felt coolant underneath the t-stat but after drying it off, driving 20 miles or so , I could see the leak but not from de t-stat but rather from de electrical plug connection..upon unplugging surprised dat coolant shot out of heater control plug...upon checking the 2 pins were drowned in coolant..defective t-stat? Also de fan runs continuously upon starting the engine..I dont think its suppose to have coolant inside de electrical plug
hmmm i had the same problem ... however after two days the code disapered aswell as the engine right after changing my spark plugs and filling fuids. but the engine light is still there when I turn the car half way on..
What happens if you drive the car with this issue? Will it damage anything?I have replaced the thermostat housing but i still get this code? Do youthink one of the wires is bad? i did see a connector that was stripped , so i used electrical tape.
Tbh I replaced various codes $$$$ on my Chevy Cruze and they still keep popping up... if I hadn’t paid the money I did I would have thrown the car away long time ago..
I have 2012 cruze lt changed my thermostat less than 1 yr ago. I have P0599 code. The connector that plugs into thermostat is a bit loose. Could that be the issue? I don't think the thermostat would fail less than 1 yr old. If it is the wiring how would I go about fixing that?
where is the video that show how to replace the thermostart, i have 2014 ltz cruz and its showing P0597 and P0598, I took it to a mechanic and he wants $3500 to replace and fix this
hello turkey from text Cruze 1.6 automatic gear position indicator flashes pedal pressure now comes the sound of running gear did not find fault relay I just bought the battery
once you clear the code it will not turn back on until you do TWO drive cycles. Just turning the vehicle on and saying its fixed is crap. You can drive the vehicle and if you don't shut the car off it will never turn the light on

Also I did fix the check engine light by erasing the code and the heat did start working so maybe I just needed to erase it! I’ll update this soon.
