With the floss for halloween quaker, it looks better on haunted. The floss seems to pop more. So very sorry to hear about your fur baby. One of my fur grand babies has cancer as well, and I was just gutted when I was told. I now have a few more charts on my wish list. Lol. Building up my retirement plan. 😉
I don't think you would go wrong with either of those fabrics, but of the two I prefer Haunted. So sorry to hear about Prince, glad he is enjoying his time in the garden.

Spending my day off stitching and catching up some Flosstube. Lovely stitching, as always. Boo to the asthma … I think many people go undiagnosed. Asthma drugs are amazing so I’m sure you’ll see a difference! And yay for it not being COPD. My mama and three of her sisters died with COPD. I got a lung function test at a specialist to be told I don’t have it. Yay. Just asthma.
Elaine, I agree with your fabric change for the Halloween Quaker. I think it looks better than the murky. I would use a darker or brighter purple versus going lighter on that fabric for your monochromatic pattern. Enjoy the time with your boy! Dogs bring so much joy and companionship into our lives.
Thanks for the video. The blue fabric for the Halloween project looks more like the night sky in October where I live, so I would pick that. I like the simple crochet blanket pattern "corner to corner" (C2C). I find it simple, easy and fun.

I would stitch the Halloween Quaker on murky. I stitched it a while ago when I was a baby stitcher and I didn’t have a clue how to get murky so I actually dyed a piece for it myself and it turned out pretty good! I recently finished it into a huge cushion and I love it so much. Such a fun stitch’

Lovely to catch up with you Elaine. You’re clearly doing the right thing just stitching whatever takes your fancy as you seem to have got loads done. Re the thread you are not sure about - I find that if you are uncertain whether a thread will work, if you take a photo of it on the fabric and then switch it to black and white you can often see really easily whether the tones are too similar. I have been unsure about a colour in the past and then when you look at the black and white image it just sort of merges. And I definitely vote Haunted for Halloween Quaker. So sorry to hear about Prince bur you have more time to cherish him which is lovely and he can just enjoy himself in your garden. See you in March. xx

You ae right about the silk color on the fabric for the Quaker. A purple would be pretty, something with a little more intensity. Not sure it needs to be neon! 😊 But it's your project. 😊 I vote for Haunted instead of the Murky for the Halloween Quaker. The yellows and orange look good against the bluer tones. I started using Duolingo to learn Welsh sometime between New Year's and Christmas. I'm doing it just for fun. So far I think I could read or write it far better than speak it. Sometimes I have to slow it down so I can try and figure it out. Take care.
For Enchanted Quaker I was already thinking purple (I'm biased, it's my favourite colour) and then you said "neon purple"...I think that sounds perfect! I like the look of Haunted better for Halloween Quaker.

Haunted is definitely my pick for Halloween Quaker, Murky varies WILDLY with the dye so it isn't an isolated issue. Also yes that silks4u is definitely too tone on tone for that piece. As for crochet videos, Rich Textures Crochet, Blossom Crochet and Tuba crochet are great for different stitch patterns. I'm currently doing mosaic crochet which is using just 2 types of stitches and only working from the front side. Tinna Thorudottir videos is who I followed to learn it and Beba blanket and Fiber fox studios have good mosaic pattern tutorials too. Good luck and hope to seeing how you go with it. Happy crafting.

My concern with the floss for Halloween Quaker would be the grey; it was difficult to tell through the plastic; my advice would be to concentrate on which one that shows up better on. As for crochet, check out the video tutorials by Bella Coco on UA-cam for techniques and how to videos. Also have a look at Attic 24 blogspot for free patterns and tips. I'm a newbie crocheter and have completed her cosy stripe and ripple blankets (there are also wool packs available through Wool Warehouse)

I managed to do one & the only reason I haven’t yet started another is because I can’t make my mind up! (And maybe that it’s a bit too hot here right now - think 40 Celsius)😂

I love your projects. I would have drove home if it was me just because I like being home. And I have asthma too I was around 5 and was playing in my uncle soybean scared everyone they thought I was dying got me out of gym class though so that was good. I would always rather know what you are dealing with then you know what to do.

Awesome episode. For the enchanted Quaker lighter or darker floss. If it was me I would try something like a rust or gold (fall colours) for Halloween Quaker I think the floss looks better on Haunted. Can’t wait to see what you choose.
Try mosaic crochet. It's really easy. Tinna Thorudottir has excellent tutorials, great patterns that are easy and crochet really quickly. I've done 3 of them and learnt from her UA-cam videos. Basically 2 stitches.

Hi Suzanne, I’ve got to about 60% on The Bee Sting now and it’s gone back to being a bit of a slog, so I wouldn’t recommend it!!
