One? Started out with low cost soprano gifted to me by grandkids. Loved playing it. Still play it. Then Ukulele became a real hobby. Different sizes. Different strings. Different tunings. Different actions. A baritone strung as a low g and tuned down one tone and another standard. Love the sound they make. Tenors strung as a re-entrant baritone, high g, low g, and 5 string (great for strumming). A kit built tenor (huge fun) that isn’t quite done so not sure about the tuning yet. Three concerts, standard, up a semi tone, down a semi tone. One tenor and one concert are composite, near indestructible and great when traveling. Four can be amped, a whole different sound and a world of fun. All are second hand “rescue” Ukuleles found used at music stores or bought from owners who didn’t play them anymore. Average price, $125.
It’s funny about the sentimental value thing. I got an Outdoor plastic tenor to use when I travel to visit the grandkids. I strung it with Low-G Worth fluorocarbons. It actually sounds pretty good for what it is, which is pretty much indestructible. My grandkids love to play it… mainly as a strange species of percussion instrument. They _bang_ on it! They’ve also stuck stickers all over it - Bluey, Ilsa from Frozen, etc. But the thing is, every single time I pick it up, it reminds me of my grandkids. So, more often than not, when I reach for a uke, that’s what ends up in my hands. I play it all the time. 🥰
Matt, you are a great teacher.😊 And a really amazing fingerstyle player.😊
What a nice video. Love the Moore Bettah 😱 Did you get to choose that design? Are those flames? It's soooo beautiful.
I got to have a bit of a say in it, but that’s mostly just Chuck. 😜
Nice instruments. Baritones are my favorite too!
Matt I also wanted to say that you are by far my favorite Uke teacher and content creator here on UA-cam . I enjoy your tutorials and listening to you play. Finger-style is my preferred method of playing on the Ukulele. That Piano Forte tune by the way was just beautiful. Do you have a tutorial video tor that one?
Thank you for the kind words! I do not, but it'd be fun to do one someday!
Magical! Very beautiful collection and interesting hearing about why you chose each one! Hearing about the effects of the different woods was also interesting. There's one uke I've wanted for a long time that includes cedar, but I liked it just for aesthetic reasons, but it seems it'd also fit my penchant for mostly soft fingerpicking, since the wood creates a sweet tone. 😊
Thank you for another amazing lesson and J.T. Smithens also thanks you! 😂😅
I have a large collection of many musical instruments. Ukulele is my favorite musical instrument and the one I spend most of my time playing daily. I have one Kala Soprano I don't play, one Enya Signature Concert I don't play, I have 4 Tenor Ukulele's but only currently play my Klos all carbon fiber Tenor. I am primarily a Baritone Uke player and I have 2 Kala's but mostly play on my Flight Aurora and my Klos all carbon fiber Baritone. Yesterday I ordered a Kala Revelator Nautilus Korina Premium Tenor which is scheduled to be delivered by Tuesday. I am planning on spending lots and lots of time with it and make it my main instrument going forward. At least until next year when I hope to get my hands on a Kala Revelator Nautilus Koa Baritone. All of my Tenor Ukes are tuned low G, and I will have a total of 13 Ukes once my Revelator gets here. I only have been playing the Ukulele now for 14 months.
@@BaritoneUkeBeast4Life i have been playing the same time as you , i have few of them, but I am selling the ones that I don’t play much and I’m getting some really good ones
Very nice thank you!
Thank you so much for this valuable information; it us impossible to get a Moore Bettah ; what do you think of Petros or Devine ?
I don't have as much experience with them, but I've been impressed every time I've gotten to play one!
Teach us a Zappa song, please! :)
That would be fun! Please add your request(s) here: rockclass101.com/forums/topic/song-suggestions/
