Ok so never been but I recently started working at OCCC ( orange county convention center) not gonna disclose what I do but its related to security all I'm gonna say, it's super weird seeing this video now that I'm actually working for the county at this place, the first part of the video takes place in the West Concords, I am curious whats gonna happen during megacon 2025.
Tips from an employee:
- Don't bother trying to get here early for parking unless you plan on getting here like 6 hours early, I can 100% grantee all available parking will be taken by mega con staff and private vendors, it's already a nightmare for actually OCCC staff to get parking during less major events. Plan ahead and scout the area surrounding the convention center for parking BEFORE you come, print out a screenshot of Google maps and highlight surrounding areas for parking lots.
- each Concords has its own address if you are trying to get to a specific one here are the addresses
• South - 9899 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819
• North - Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819
• West - 9800 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819
- No you are not crazy both North and South Concords are connected and have the same parking lot.
- for both North and South parking lots if you somehow get right next to the building turn around you have gone too far once you start seeing the no parking signs on the curves you need to turn around and head back to the parking lot because you will be heading to the "DOCKs" and security personnel will make you turn around
(This sounds confusing but once you see what I'm talking about it will make sense)
- on tradeshow rd you will see a entrance with two rising arms with red/green LEDs on them and a single guard shack (I don't have the exact address) this is NOT a entrance BUT IS A EXIT if for some reason your GPS is taking you hear turn LEFT and follow the chin link fence it will take you to a road that if you turn right will take you to universal Blvd DONT TURN RIGHT turn left and you will be at the entrance.
- if you are going to the West building parking is in the back.
- the West and North/South buildings are connected via a bridge that crosses over I-drive
- don't jwalk or cross without a single OCSO will write you a ticket, I don't know why but they enforce that.
Theirs some other things that may prove helpful but I can't remember them.
So common questions I get asked
Q - are firearms allowed (mostly get that from people NOT actually going into the convention proper and are mainly just hanging out)
A- No, although NOT posted firearms are not allowed.
Q- are Pocket knives, blade's, or multitools allowed
A- No
Q- does the food vendors provide by OCCC take cash.
A- most of them do not it is very rear that food stands take cash so plan accordingly
Q- can I bring outside food into the convention center
A- MAYBE, although OCCC doesn't have a policy in place prohibiting being outside food the event organizers May have a no outside food policy. So always check.
Q- can I bring alcohol
A- No, IF alcohol is even being offered by the event organizers it must be purchased from inside the event.
Q- if Ieave and come back will I have to pay for parking again
A- Yes, unless the event organizers have worked that out with OCCC yes you will
Q- how much is parking
A- it will very, I've seen it range for 5 dollars all the way to 30 USD

Quick follow up if your cosplay has any replica firearm with it it MUST have a orange tip

@@allgoodontheroad yhaa actually OCCC staff (county employee) even have issues with trying to find parking mega con is so massive that all overtime restrictions are lifted and security personnel are required to come in, meaning that half of us can't even get into employee parking LoL. I literally just parked my truck in the woods down the street one time (don't ever do this BTW the homeless will steal your shit)
