Jay would you please interview Serbian theologian Vladimir Dimitrijevic. He is a professor of Serbian language, theologian and anti ecumenist in Orthodox Church. He doesn’t have many interviews in English, actually now I can’t find any his interview in English anymore, but I would like to hear two of you discussing about any topic so much and I’m sure your audience wouldn’t be disappointed, neither would you! He could tell many things about this or any other topic. His email is: vladimirdimitrijevic.com@gmail.com And his website in Serbian: www.vladimirdimitrijevic.com/sr-rs/
Hi, Jay. You introduced me to the Orthodox Church. I live close to Nashville and was curious if you could recommend a church I could attend. I was raised Christian, but rejected it my whole life. I struggle with it still, but I want to take the next step. Have a good Thanksgiving, brother.
My prayers are with the Orthodox Church and Vladimir putin as they battle nato and the communist United States and even though me and Vladimir putin have different theology differences and church differences I respect him and I support him banning jehovah witness and Roman Catholicism and Lutherans from Russia and banning the same sex marriage from Russia culture and he is helping the Jews in Russia and in Israel
This was really great! I would love to see more interviews focusing on the histories of the different Orthodox countries from people who were there or know others who were. Thank you Jay!
What an amazing interviews. We’re so blessed to have these deep conversations with people like you & His Eminence pop-up on our timelines. Thanks a bunch, Jay 🙏
Thank you Met. Jonah & Jay. Would a Part 2 of this discussion be possible, covering the path of reunification of ROCOR & ROC, the Sobor of 2006 and the rejection of the reunification by ROCA (Abp Agafangel/Met Vitaly)?
Nihilism is the root of our problems today as jay said Father seraphim Rose had a great book on this. And i think Father Rose may have accidentally or possibly intentionally predict the things that we're dealing with right now. I just hope we can weather the strom with as little death as is necessary. But as with all things God's will be done. ☦️
There needs to be some clarification of Patriarch Kirill’s involvement with the Soviets. A local parishioner left the Church and converted to Mormonism, claiming that he left Orthodoxy because of a perceived controversy regarding Kirill’s supposed involvement with the KGB. I didn’t know how to respond to his complaints and don’t see why he didn’t just go to another jurisdiction.
There was also a Russian drama series on Netflix, but the title escapes me (and it is no longer up on Netflix here). It is about a couple who get cought in the crossfire during the revolution. But I guess there are loads of Russian Revo flicks on top of that.
@@jamiehoffman7592 "Reds" looks interesting! It was a Russian produced TV series however I had in mind, but perhaps they are based on the same story (book?), as I believe it is based on actual people (the series), if my bad memory serves.
Because Eastern Orthodoxy is the one true church that Jesus Christ established, and more people than you think here in the USA look towards Russia and don't see an enemy, rather they see brothers and sisters in Christ. God bless

I would like to know his take on Russia's unjust war in Ukraine.
This was so good and packed with valuable historical info, I listened to it twice.
Thank you Vladyka Jonah for your excellent coverage of Church history during the Soviet time. Thank you Jay for this magnificent video.

SO refreshing, Vladika Jonah! -Fr. Theodore
I remember reading lots of this history in The Orthodox Church by Kallistos Ware... Interesting stuff! Thanks for the video
Thanks for working to lay this out for all of us! Helps make sense in this senseless world.
Thanks Jay and Fr. Jonah for such informative podcast.

Seconded

Interesting conversation.
18:18 increasing awareness for these deathtoll records should probably be prioritized, given how history seems to be on course of repeating itself.

Who are the thumbs down guys?? 🤷🏻♀️
What is the Netflix documentary he is referring to at 24:01 ? I cannot find it.

@@henrik_worst_of_sinners Sounds like the movie Reds, which is well worth watching!

What was that about the icons that stalin had?
@Jay Dyer What was the book that Metropolitan Jonah wrote about this?
Does anyone know if Jay Dyer is in the new calendar or old calendar Orthodox Church?
At 34:06 one can Imagine where his ideas come from 😅

I notice a distinct lack of catholicity in how we pronounce the names of the councils.
Jayson Dyer an American? Interested in our culture and religion? But why

@@RobertV703 It's probably just for show. Putin who was a former KGB officer will not be so quick to fall for religious dogma.
