I worked on this busway and a very German born German who was a Australian citizen when construction began. Because I worked for the Construction Company Baulderstone Hornibrook Adelaide. I worked as an German interpreter for the German company who constructed the Adelaide O-Bahn. I had the great experience working on this fantastic project in South Australia.
Lived in Adelaide for a year now . I don't drive and had a appointment at Klemzig . Looked on the internet how to get there and found this . My son and I learnt something today thanks .
OMG I recognize the areas of the o barn i love this video im speechless now cant believe i just recognize the whole places and the landscape thanks for posting
This looks more like it was made in the mid-80’s than 1982. The footage shows the actual O-Bahn Stage 1 track route in testing, not the demonstration track. That wouldn’t have been a possibility in 1982. Also they mention work done in the years since then.

I can't wait until 1988 to ride the whole length!
Still travelling on it. The best infrastructure built in Adelaide. It cuts my commute time in half. Such a flexible system
its old and outdated. theres a reason why it is so rare. heavy or light rail is a no brainer
the speed limit keeps getting capped like in this video it was 100km/h so now it is only going to get slower and slower to get to modbury

That video defines the word Nostalgia compared with today!
Lol, is that the old STA logo?
2020 its bumpier and slower. it used to be very fast during the late 80's and 90's
It's still relatively quick. Speed limit is down to 90 and 80km/h though
Literally more advanced then than now.
Dat music tho
I love the o bahn it is awesome o bahn's are different to other buses like having steerers
This and other videos outline many benefits but, why in 40 years have their been barely any other o bahns? I can only find Cambridge England?
Just Subscribed, nice content. Thanks
all the benefits of a railway but with flexibility of a bus
Should have built a railway, everything is a band-aide measure in Adelaide
Bulls..t this is far better than the train
Have you any idea how expensive heavy rail is??
I don't understand why they don't just drive on a normal road?
Clearly 1985
