We are fortunate to have heard such beautiful chef d'oeuvre from the master. Warmly pay tribute through Noor Sajjad saheb. You are a worthy son of worthy father.
He was a genius. He was a friend of my father. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he stayed at our house in Shimla and got the rare opportunity of witnessing his soulful rendition of mandolin, of which he was a true master. My humble respect to the great music maestro. A lively performance par excellence.
The level of Sajjad was very high. A gr8 connoisseur of the music genre, besides being an excellent composer he was an excellent mandolin player. Hats off.
A great rendition indeed! Must thank the uploader (although I read below that the person is no more - may his soul rest in peace) immensely!!! I was lucky to have heard Sajjad-saab live in Pune at Sawai Gandharv festival - his rendition included Darbari & a short Miyan-Malhar (if I mistake not). He was accompanied by Late Pt. Chandrakant Kamat on the tabla. I still remember he used to sit with three differently tuned mandolins, one below the chosen 'Sa' & one above (but always stay in tune accurately). This was primarily because mandolin has a very limited range and when he needed to go beyond the range of normally tuned mandolin, he used to pick up a suitable instrument to cross the range. He had also modified the instrument - for playing classical music - with sympathetic strings. Never heard such brilliant adaptation of this mandolin before & after Sajjad-saab - they don't make like him any more, may his soul rest in peace...!
Wow..this is unbelievable - 3 mandolins differently tuned to cover the range and beautiful nuances. By any chances can you somehow manage those audio..we would try our best to help you in this endeavour.

Mr. Sajjad Husian was a greatest Music Director of Indian Film Industries and all time favorite of Lata Bai Lata Bai like him because she was unable to sung a song given by Mr. Sajjad Husain that day she felt she lack lot more in singing and agree to bow down informal to the director .
Unparalled musjcian. He was the only musician who could play classical music on this instrument in the world.Great maestro OP Nayyar wanted to touch his feet.I feel something missing in me the day I don't listen his songs.
No chance unfortunately. He never given permssion to record his Performance in audio itself, forget about the Video. Only 1 or 2 official recordings were available. If somebody has done unofficially (Audio/Voideo)at that time if they can share it now it will be a great pleasue for all of us !

Amazing. Sajjad saab was also a great composer. Composed for a few films only, but they were absolute gems...
Even Lataji used to be under stress while singing for him. I think she said so during her interview by Javed Akhtar.
I am too small to comment on such a great musician.
