He came to the Kyoto City Zoo in 2010.
Genki (mother) was born on June 24, 1986.
I was born in Kyoto and came back to Kyoto.

Genki is my favorite. I'm a mom and I know what we have to do to keep the kids and husband happy. 🤷♀️ Even when they get on your nerves.

ゲンキさん、相当腹ペコだったのか、飼育員さんが来るのを待ってる落ち着きのない様子が、独特で、かわいい。モモタロウが退室してからの、別窓待機中のゲンキさんの焦り具合が特に気に入りました。かわいいです。

Kintaro went right for his favorites, the apples and carrots. He even snagged a green pepper from the safety net. Gentaro was funny the way he lifted the entire wooden structure to see if there were any treats hidden underneath. Great shots of all the family members peeking in the keeper station. Loved the looks on their faces.

I remember another time Momotaro took forever to go inside...he went in for a second, then came right back out. Poor Genki gets anxious.

She did show a lot of expression and her point was well received. Up went the door and in went Genki.
Extraordinary video which proves once again the intelligence of these magnificent creatures: Momotaro saw an anomaly in the way the door went up, only partially, and he found this suspicious and did not want to go in. All his family was very anxious, but he did not allow anybody to go in because he's the one there to protect his family. ONLY when the door went completely up, Momotaro felt it was safe for him and his family to go in. Incredible to see this, how observant the gorillas are. When Momotaro went in and the door came down quickly, Genki and Gentaro panicked, thinking they would be left outside while Momotaro, the boss of the family, was already inside their home for the night. When the door opened up again, Genki and Gentaro rushed to go in. The images inside the zookeeper room are really interesting, the face of disappointment of Genki when she did not see Miss Hina inside. Great video, congratulations !
Momotaro didn’t want anyone going in because that’s the room he eats in...he won’t share with the others...Genki and the boys eat in a different room...they explained this tape before and said sometimes Momotaro won’t go in his room because he wants to go in the other room to eat their food and his food.

I would love to hear their sounds when with keepers. Put microphone near so we can hear please
They are on Instagram and there are video's of them making noise's. Go on Instagram and start typing in Kyoto and it should pop up

Picking up Kintaro even now, would be like a bag of cement
When dad and baby were hanging in the top of the cage area and pulling down the grasses to eat, dad always grabs everything he can reach at the time. Dad to do because he's DAD. Kintaro was up there and eating a lot of the grass and all of a sudden Dad sees him and as soon as he turned his head Kintaro headed for the opposite side of cage. Mom's taught him that dad is always first and Dad just didn't even have to do more than move his head.
Beginning of video reminded me of when the door opened, I heard, "Release the Krakens!"

Anyone noticed when Gentero was standing in front of Momotero’s door, maybe contemplating if should go in and dad waved his left hand and Gentero took off...... if they are separated while eating is there at least bars separating them so they can see each other?

Genki was panicking
She's kinda crazy. Psychological unstable to me. Lol. She freaks out over the slightest of things.
She has had a very traumatic life.You know the previous so she was so stressed that she chewed off her on finger. I'm so happy that she found a good home in Koyoto and a happy life with Momo.

Gen is always last for food he gets the scraps for sure don’t know why he doesn’t fuzz like the others except as a baby he didn’t breast feed like ken who gets the best of things all around including all of the attention Gen he lacks a lil more stimulus there is a different in breast fed baby than bottle feds you can see the difference in the brothers they surely ❤️each other🦍🦍🥰
Gentero does NOT eat scraps. He's very particular about what he likes to eat and that grass they eat is not his favorite. He likes vegetables best with some fruit and the sticks he always peels and eats the inside. He's very intelligent and knows what foods are good for him.
Genky knows how the doors work. Very smart leader.

I didn't see any, I don't think they ever feed them well, mostly grass, surely they get,alot of money from these videos,
There was veggies. Every once in awhile they get some. Just not enough. And it's such a fight to with momontaro for others. Here lately I will say though I been seeing more.

モモファミリーに会えて感激でした。

前にゲンキ、ゲンタロウ、キンタロウと離されるのが寂しがりやなのでイヤなのではとコメントを見た事があります。スタッフさんはモモタロウがご飯を一人占めしないように部屋を分けてるみたいです。

Fun fact: Genki is older than Momotaro’s father by a year. She was born in 1986 and Momo was born in the year 2000.
And Momo's dad was Genki's first mate before they moved her back to this zoo.
So that means Momotaros dad was only 13 at Momo conception, do you know what happened to his father??? Because he was awfully young. So sad he died. But we still have Momo. He has a great silverback son....

There is a video called something like "Momotaro vs keepers" by Hashimaru video which is somewhat similar to this situation but it goes much longer and videographer set it up like boxing match and it's guaranteed to make u laugh till ur stomach hurts. You've got to try it !! I go back to the video every so often for good laughs.

They explained it before...they said Momotaro doesn’t like to share food and wants to go in the other door to eat their food too...they showed a video before that showed genki going in her room thinking Momotaro went in his room but momo tricked them and went in the other door....he was wild when he saw Genki getting the food ran up to her and smacked her in the head. She didn’t let go of her food though.

@Ana Arteaga So true. Momotaro hates being separated from the rest of his family while dining. So he is hesitant to enter the room. The zoo keepers and Genki with two boys are so so patient.😅
@Ana Arteaga I’m thinking because he’s a jerk about a peanut or carrot like Genki is with the kids. She’d run them over for a sunflower sea. Most primates are that way I’ve noticed.
