Not much of a UA-cam commenter or how I even came across this video, but just thank you. The music analogy at the end really hit home in a way I didn’t quite expect.
@@Nemesys01 yeah, I think we all know what it’s like to feel like we have to metaphorically jam to Wonderwall all day at work and social events lol. I think I really wanted to give people hope at the end because I know I really needed hope when I was younger. I thought I wanted to just go and live in a cave because I found myself getting so little out of my social interactions. But as you get older and become more of who you’re meant to be, I think you start to find some of the rare people Who can actually jam to your tune, and it’s a beautiful thing.
I feel like I have been searching for this info for so long, and it comes in a package that makes it seem so simple. when I get pulled out of focus I almost dissociate and turn into a lifeless, zombified, social chameleon.
@@snake7731 We all do man. Its the little things we do in our alone time that make the difference I think. Ive found that really taking the time to do things like meditate, read and consciously avoid social media while also pursuing goals that matter to me have helped to make being able to be authentic in a way that I feel proud of more effortless. Cheers to your endless growth!
@@Navajolty Is there a way that I could permanently stay in that state of deep thought I am in when I am alone and meditating but while I'm around others?
I guess it depends what you mean by deep thought. If by deep thought you mean a kind of retreat inwards and a dissociation from your surroundings, then probably not. But one of the goals of mindfulness is definitely to allow you to be mindful all the time not just when you’re meditating, and if you find the right people, then you’ll be able to think deeply and speak your mind when you’re around them. I definitely think it’s possible to find a way to be at peace around others in the same way that you’re able to be at peace alone. I’m still on this journey too, so I haven’t got it all figured out, but compared to when I was 21 there’s a night and day difference.
Times I said “you know” counter:
