Awesome video. Just picked up a beaten down 460 magnum with bad piston for 40 dollars. Oh and i plan on doing some mods baby! From west coast 4 point felling dogs, max flow hi flow air filter and cover, the 76 jet that you mentioned and the west coast bark box…….and a new paint job and i think that’s about it. Thanks for the good intel!

That was a nice explanation of the differences man. Appreciate it. I just rebuilt an MS460 and slapped a Hyway dual port muffler on there. The stock muffler cover was a bit rusty and dented so I figured why not. Still have to tune the carb a little. I think I'm a little rich on the H side.

I'm going to do another video with the max flow filter and the .76 high-speed jet. so far of all the modifications the max flow filter has given the most performance. the. 76 with the maxflo should be amazing. some guys are running these saws at about fourteen thousand RPMs ( Jon's Customs Saws). the manual says 13 500, and I find a when saws run to lean-that is any saw-they tend to bog down sooner. I will be playing with the RPMs a bit in the next video. I'll do a comparison and see what cuts better.

@@Tips.and.Tricks I have an aftermarket "HD" air filter. It uses the foam insert instead of the plastic clip on spacer but the air filter element itself seems just like OEM...So it's not quite the Max Flow filter.....I'm not exactly interested in maxxing it out atm - I just want a nice, reliable, powerful saw to handle the bigger wood. And like Buckin' says.....to be able to stand up and buck! Looking forward to seeing your video though.

It's better to be rich than lean because the saw will have power when you lean into it and not stall out when you're cutting. If you still have the limiters on the carburetor don't be worried about adjusting it too much. It will keep you within acceptable limits.

@@ProteusDIY also I would like to add that the performance of the saw increased the most and operated more efficiently, and cooler with the changing of the air filter to the max flow more than anything else. That said I operated it for years with the regular HD filter just fine.

The US pre epa factory dual port 046's had a hd14 carb with a .70 main, the epa choked version has a hd16 carb with limiter caps and .68 main.

Could you provide some links where you got some of this stuff?

Will that part number fit on the oem carb?

If you‘re speaking of the 76 jet, 112-466-76-1 the answer is yes. Works fine on my oem carb that had the 68 jet.
