When I read Singularity's lyrics I realized I would taking a break from Japanese music to really delve into BTS, knowing I wouldn't regret it. Namjoon has been my bias since then.
i think a lot of people didn’t listen to the song that much before reacting to airplane pt2 (or didnt even listen to it before), i have a friend who just finished with their discography, but i remember that he didn’t pick up on it and i was like ???? but how ??? and he said he had only listened to hope world twice before listening to tear (both as a whole album) so i was like 🤨 ok… i guess…
Love yourself tear was a defining album for bts. They released this album during the hardest time of their career. They made this album while they were considering quitting. And the messages in the album was for themselves. They way they write their songs... its like their personal stories become universal. Its real art. And outro tear is pure poetry and one of the most heartbreaking songs ever written about bts by bts. Initially folks didn't realise what the song was about, it was only years later bts talked about the meaning of the song. Some bts songs be like that, it makes sense years later and the messages suddenly become clearer as you age.
We always knew what the song was about lol, the narrative of the album is obvious just listening to Singularity, Fake Love, and Tear in order, but on its own Tear is already very clear in what it's about. The grief, anger and fear of the future (of loving again) that comes with the end of a relationship. What we didn't know was that it had been written with Bangtan's situation at the time as inspiration. That it was basically autobiographical.
134340 is such a special BTS song. To me, the image of just becoming another insignificant object at the freezing edge of someone's orbit, no longer even having a name, is so heartbreaking. Props to Namjoon our resident poet for coming up with the concept of this song.
I have had my best friend who I once considered my world just...ghost me after they went to a different college and made new friends...I told that person everything and I still consider that person my only true friend I ever had...but to think that I was just so insignificant to that person is heartbreaking to say the least
@@ayowut5154 definitely, it’s very telling of the way some people see themselves as the centre of their own world and only share their lives with those closest in their orbit
lack of clones don't make it any less of a genuine and entertaining reaction, don't even think twice. This album is so deeply personal and raw, so it just being you experiencing it is just right.

Dare I say Tear is a top 5 in bts’ discography… and it’s not number 5, 4, or 3😂LITERALLY the lyrics, rapping, vocals and amount of bangers on here is actually crazy. This represents such growth in their career
Yeah this album's musicality and production was on another level, it's equivalent to Wings to me as a turning point in their growth and musical development/expansion. Just a truly incredible album
It was so satisfying to see you recognize hoseok's airplane verse! That's how we all reacted when the album first came out, but for newer people who don't go chronologically through their work or recognize the lyrics too well like you do, they wouldn't have caught that. I'm glad you loved the album. I think it's one of THE bts albums even though I love their whole discography. It's so special.
Same, it's just so good! "Us is just the plural of u" and the general concept of using the relationship of Pluto and the sun as a metaphore? Those lyrics on top of those vocals, that rap and that intrumental? The really outdid themselves with that one
Outro tear was a shocker fr. before, armys thought this song is really about breaking up between two people. But it was revealed after a long time that it was actually about the group disbanding. After that, reading the lyrics with that perspective and thought that it was about BTS disbanding, it even hurts deeper. To RM, tear is like crying to suga, tear is the 'tearing apart' hence why he pronounced tear as "te-ar" to jhope, it's fear. the consequence of the lyrics really amazes me
25:47 yes. My identity, my life, my everything was wrapped up in my husband of 30 years, & when he died 3 days before our 30th, it felt like my soul was ripped from my body. We married at 19, i was 49 when he died and now i have no idea who tf i am. I gave up my dreams to be a stay at home mom (which i dont regret - the stay at home mom part) but i did lose myself along the way, & now im a terrified 51 year old freaking tf out because idk how to be an adult. Not just an independent adult, but an actual adult. It sucks. Literally everything changed & i struggle to cope. But! BTS has ofc saved me many times over, & you've aided in bringing me joy that is often hard to come by since he died. You can almost always make me laugh, so thank you, & know that you make differences in people's lives as well. Borahae 💜
1:34:45 outro tear is so devastatingly painful and beautiful at the same time. I remember sitting in my college dorm 2 years ago at like 1 am and reading a thread about the song and the meaning and what the members were going through and I just remember crying so hard that night. And i remember feeling that , no matter what happens in the future, whether they remain bts, whether they continue to make music or not, i hope they will always be friends. Their friendship means the most to me. Even if they live thousands of miles apart, I just hope they stay life long friends. I think they will.
Snickers bar scene in the "Fake Love" music video: In BTS's fictional storyline AU, J-Hope was abandoned by his mother when he was young. J-Hope's mother took young J-Hope to an amusement park, put a Snickers bar in his hand, said she would be back soon, and then left, never to return. Therefore, the Snickers bar represents J-Hope's trauma for fake love. Jimin's water scene and Suga's fire scene were also used as symbols related to their traumas in the AU.
The trauma imagery is so raw and heartrending, especially that shot in the extended version of his hand disappearing into Snickers bars, his body swallowed whole. It's like his thoughts aren't even his own, he has no control over them, they have him possessed. A broken record that won't move on beyond a certain point because it no longer can. For him, there is only repeating.
1:46:30 being completely honest… i didn’t even realize the video was “edit-less” until you brought it up - and not because i don’t care for that aspect, very much the opposite, i love your editing, the clones, the improvs, and just how creative you are. it _always_ makes me laugh, and i’m not the type to just be laughing at the screen like that 😭 and all that just makes me appreciate even more all the hard work you put into it. so the fact that i didn’t even notice the difference shows me that everything else is truly a bonus, because you’re the real reason we stick around, loui. your authenticity. your dedication. your honesty. i commented earlier about how seeing this video up made me smile after a stressful day, and i have to say that i kept that smile on my face throughout the whole thing (except when i was crying bcs i also feel very much attacked by some of these lyrics). i just hope you know that your content is more than the content itself, but a product of you as a person too, and you bring a lot of value just by being you, sharing your thoughts and opinions with us, dancing, vibing, showing your love for music and your appreciation for the work you’re listening/reacting to. i really hope you know that. (also hope i can catch some of the 24h livestream after taking an extremely needed nap……… 😭)
BTS' Love Yourself series is so special because everyone can fundamentally understand the pain that they're talking about. Insecurity and fear of abandonment is something that everyone has experienced, because everyone wants to love and be loved so badly. Their message is so important, because no loving relationship can function without each person first loving themselves. If you don't face, know and love yourself, you cannot fully love others.
I realize something new about BTS' discography on a monthly basis ever since i became a fan, no joke. This time i realized LY Tear not only talks about BTS' own struggles and the heartbreaking period of time they had in 2017-18 but also how they decided to add messages for Army who were also going through shit - and it fits the theme! That's the part i've been missing, how even when it's for the fans it still fits the album concept and many reviewers/critics missed that point. LY Tear is actually cohesive beginning to end. BTS has said many times how impactful it is when fans tell them about their struggles and because of Yoongi's constant positive messages on having dreams some fans have brought their own concerns about not even having a dream, thus BTS wrote Paradise
This album is so special to me🥹 like imagine this was my first bts comeback and my standard to kpop songs was rocketing to the moon. Hardly find good song with deep lyrics like bts’. I think the Smeraldo story's message is more to do with being your full self and not letting insecurity or social expectation hold you back from happiness.
This album is one of my favorites. It has a very special place in my heart, and held me through such tough times. Outro Tear is literally a masterpiece, and the meaning behind is so devastating. The year this album came out was so hard for them, and it's just an overall one of the best albums, in my opinion.
54:25 it's ok cause this song is literally for me. I dont have a dream. I don't know what to do in life and im scared that I'll never do anything. All through school and college we're constantly running and we don't even know why. This song is healing for me. But on the other hand I also need to have some kind of goal, something to do in life. Im taking a break and trying to figure it out and trying something I don't really like but will atleast get me started and make my parents happy. But idk. It all feels pointless. So funny how there are such opposite people in this world. People who keep running and others who don't even know where to Start. Anyway, thank you bts.
paradise brings tears to my eyes everytime. as someone who's been told from childhood that you need to have a passion, a dream, a goal to make sense of your life, paradise (and zero o clock from MOTS 7) are my forever comfort songs. my only goal in life is to have a comfortable, stable life, and enough money to live happily and spend time with my loved ones. what's so bad about that? paradise also feels like a direct reply to No more dream back in 2013 where they questioned why you don't have a dream so it also seems like them talking to their younger selves who were extremely driven and maybe suffered from that need to achieve their goals and dreams.
In NMD they sarcastically, yet cathartically, mimic the tone of the cynical, self-interested adults of society, and in Paradise they try offering some comfort amidst the unavoidable stress of being an overworked student/working citizen. Bittersweet.
1:00:10 I blasted all of BTS albums for a year straight and my husband didn’t complain until about 13 months after he asked if we could listen to literally any one else. 😂
52:15 i feel just like u man😭 I can’t stop running yet too. I’ve been army since 2018 and this is the first time i’m really Feeling this song lyrics (my bad they have like1000songs so) i need to pause and have my 5 stages of grief in the shower before continuing this vid no cap (And it hit harder when I realized they made this album when they think about disband)
after it was later revealed what outro: tear is really about I can't listen to it the way I used to when the album dropped, the lyrics are just too heartbreaking 😭
i have many friends who have such big, good dreams while i feel like i dont even have anything amazing (other than going to a bts concert lol). listening to paradise made me feel comforted for not having a dream as amazing as other people
I remember how we used to say 134304, Paradise and Love Maze are the holy trinity. For me, ly tear album will always be one of the best album released by bts, every song is just a masterpiece.
I'm 53 so it's hard to find time to do an almost 2hr reaction. This, for me, was one of your best posts, I loved every second of watching you get kicked in the gut by this album. I don't even know what you're talking about when you say you didn't have time to edit it as you normally would, there was nothing missing from this. Thank you, blessings to you, don't take life too seriously. Much love 🙏🌷💜

This is the best album they've ever done
I don't think this can be topped by anyone
This album is one of my favorites. It has a very special place in my heart, and held me through such tough times. Outro Tear is literally a masterpiece, and the meaning behind is so devastating. The year this album came out was so hard for them, and it's just an overall one of the best albums, in my opinion.
I think it’s my fav album
Yes yes yes! exactly, thank you
In NMD they sarcastically, yet cathartically, mimic the tone of the cynical, self-interested adults of society, and in Paradise they try offering some comfort amidst the unavoidable stress of being an overworked student/working citizen. Bittersweet.
16:35 "Suga had already burnt his crib".... 🤭🤫
1:00:10 I blasted all of BTS albums for a year straight and my husband didn’t complain until about 13 months after he asked if we could listen to literally any one else. 😂
the live versions are even better...love these songs so much ❤❤
One of their BEST albums
Feeling an out of body experience every time I listen to The Truth Untold
52:15 i feel just like u man😭 I can’t stop running yet too. I’ve been army since 2018 and this is the first time i’m really Feeling this song lyrics (my bad they have like1000songs so) i need to pause and have my 5 stages of grief in the shower before continuing this vid no cap
(And it hit harder when I realized they made this album when they think about disband)
after it was later revealed what outro: tear is really about I can't listen to it the way I used to when the album dropped, the lyrics are just too heartbreaking 😭
Outro TEAR is a masterpiece. This album is best of all time. For me anyway even my 89 years old mother loves this album.

Magic Shop never fails to make me emotional 🥺

This is my favourite album after Dark & Wild 😩😩😩😩
I'm 53 so it's hard to find time to do an almost 2hr reaction. This, for me, was one of your best posts, I loved every second of watching you get kicked in the gut by this album. I don't even know what you're talking about when you say you didn't have time to edit it as you normally would, there was nothing missing from this. Thank you, blessings to you, don't take life too seriously. Much love 🙏🌷💜
This album is perfect!
It's definitely in my top 3 in their discography
YES tear teared me up
44:36- NAMJOON. NAMJOON DOES. THATS WHY THE SONG EXISTS!! 😂😂😂😂
My fav album along with dark and wild omggggg
i looooove how we can feel that you love music!
6 years later and it's still my favorite album 💜
I became an Army in this era so Love Yourself: Tear will always be my favorite album. Paradise and So what to this day make me cry when I read the lyrics even 6 years later.
This album is life altering, hope you’re okay
I had a feeling love yourself Tear would hit you hard. Hope you're doing swell Louie. Take your time to digest, and move on to answer once you're ready
