  • Is counting the omer simply about counting down days? Does it point to something more than what most of us are already aware of? Have we been satisfied with a surface-level understanding of counting the omer up until now? And what are we to actually count?
In the first part to this series, we begin to look more deeply into what the counting of the omer really points to. How does the counting of the omer relate to the covenant given to Abraham, and ultimately to the House of Israel? How does the counting the omer ought to be an act of remembrance, and of what? How does it relate to Yeshua being our Messiah, and to His return as judge of all the earth? And what is the warning to the body that comes with this subject?
We hope this teaching is a blessing to you.

17:03 - "To say the same thing twice but with different words." That is EXACTLY what is needed when trying to communicate effectively with someone who is hearing impaired! I speak as one with a physical hearing challenge. The Hebrew language also may apply this to our "spiritual hearing."

Yahusha is peeling away the layers for me to look at seriously.
Each passing day is one closer to His return and one less for any behaving badly. It's time for service.
I pray I can be used in my design ability biblically
    Thank you for your service.
I watched 2 times to understand, and rehear things I didn't quite get

Are we meant to count each day?

I've been questioning when we actually are to start counting the omer. I was hoping you'd address this, but if you look at Leviticus 23:14, it says they cannot begin eating bread until the day that they bring the Firstfruits offering. Not matzah, but lechem, which would mean it cannot be during the week of unleavened bread, right? It would put the Firstfruits offering and then start counting the omer after the week of unleavened bread? Any insight into this is appreciated, as I've been wrestling with this for about a month and do want to get it right.

The word "lechem" is just a general term for bread, "matzah" is a type of "lechem." Just like in English, bread is the over-arching term, and unleavened bread is a type of bread. In fact, "lechem" is sometimes used idiomatically for general food. The point that the passage is trying to make is that one cannot eat from the new harvest until the first-fruit has been waved by the high priest.
