  • Doing "Getting Things Done" (GTD) with Linux and todotxt
The Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology by David Allen is a popular way to not only get things done but also to clear away distractions and achieve focus. Craig Maloney details what the GTD Methodology is, and how he uses GTD under a Linux environment, using tools like Todo.txt, Genius Scan, Dropbox, and text files. He’ll also cover some useful tips and tricks for setting up and honing your own GTD system. It's a great introduction to this useful methodology to help you cope with the cnages and demands of our ever-changing world.
Craig Maloney is a current member of the board of the Michigan!/usr/group. His misadventures in life, the universe, and everything can be found at decafbad.net. He also writes his own bio and talks about himself in the third person.

Thank you for this. I just started using todo-txt and your presentation was very helpful. I use todo-txt with Simpletask for Nextcloud and it is working well so far.

Great details I could instantly add to my todo.txt workflow, thank you Craig Maloney.
Although there is no _SimpleTask for Google Drive_ on Google Play, with the additional app *DriveSync* (search Google Play for: *AutoSync Google Drive* by MetaCtrl I could establish a sync for the folder my todo.txt file sits in. This way I can use _SimpleTask _*_Cloudless_* on both Android and _Vim_ . To refine the Vim editing even further I vundle-installed 'freitass/todo.tx-vim'.

This was such a good talk! I learnt about GTD and todo.txt in one go, well done! I kinda wanted to hear more about jrnl though as that sounds very very useful. I'm gonna use my own todo.txt file for now and see if I can make it work the way I need a todo list to work. I always have so many different mini projects going on at once.
